Every time I watch one of these videos with a failed Schwintek slide it makes me want to immediately make an appointment with Vroom to have my slide replaced! Safe travels in Mexico kids, you're gonna have a ton of fun.
@@richardkoch8752 dude, it's my biggest anxiety with this trailer. We only have 1 slide but I still say a little prayer to the RV Gods every time I slide it in or out. Good luck on the new trailer hunt!
Manifold Destiny - Heat up that pizza in the engine bay for the truck. We do it all the time and have even marked spaces in the engine bay for such purposes. All you need is some good wide aluminum foil and baling wire.
Thank you! We have definitely learned to just go with the flow but still get a little frustrated sometimes. Really hope we can eventually get this other slide fixed! 🤞🏼
You 2 are absolutely awesome. The trials and tribulations you guys have been through are truly amazing. We are about to head out on our first big trip and will be gone about a month. I hope we have the positive attitude you guys have.
Cold pizza for breakfast is awesome and as for repairing time always plan on more time that they originally tell you that’s for any repairs. Great video keep up the hard work
Even though you have many challenges you keep moving forward and the journey continues! Can't keep you two down, that's fo sho! Looking forward to the border crossing, I'm a little nervous lol.
That’s really nice that you both guys work from home I been camping for over 30 years I used to have a fifth wheel toy hauler 30 foot I sold that one and I bought a 38 foot fifth wheel toy hauler and then I sold and now I have a 40 foot diesel pusher with a Rubicon behind me but I don’t have a lot of time to go out because I have a landscaping business and it’s hard for me to take so many days off
We can understand that! Craig had a landscaping business before we hit the road and it was very difficult to take time off. I like the idea of having a hero to drive around though! We used to have an old CJ7 and loved that thing!

Our kitchen & living slides broke my husband got under their found out what the problem was called the company ordered the part had to wait 2 to 3 days for the parts to arrive and that was it
Love that you can laugh, but your slide experiences are why we have never owned a slide. Too many horror stories. Those donuts . . . a few weeks of eating those and I would need a couple of slides to fit in my trailer!
It is a wonder you guys don't weight 300# with all those big ass donuts you eat LOL... I heard good things about the Vroom system I am surprised you had problems with it maybe I will rethink about changing mine but mine is the small bedroom slide my other two big slides are hydraulic
I think the issue we had is less a vroom issue and more a whomever made the motor issue. I still would not hesitate to go with vroom if not just for their customers' service they are great.
Hopefully they’ll have plenty of time to get the parts while we’re out of country for 3 months… crossing our fingers it isn’t quite that much but I wouldn’t be surprised 😬😳
Stumbled across your channel a week ago. In the particular video you were in a campground in Marianna FL. I lived in Marianna until 1960 so it caused me to stop and watch. Since then I have been checking your progress. Your Vroom issues also caught my attention. We are on our way to Red Bay AL to replace our Swintech drives on our bedroom slide with Vroom. Now I am wondering if I am making the correct decision. Hope yours work well in Mexico.
I would say that you are definitely making the right decision. The vroom products are very clearly MUCH better quality than Schwintek and they have also always done super right by us, for instance offering to upgrade us to their most recent seals, etc. we got it done over a year ago, so it seems they’ve continued to make improvements to their system. (I feel obligated to say we weren’t sponsored or gifted anything from them, we’re just very satisfied with them!) the initial issue of the wire pulling out was really just something that could have happened to any motor so I can’t really fault them too much
But I just noticed you said Alabama…the Vroom Slide Systems we went to was in Tucson and im not sure they have multiple locations so I don’t know if we’re talking about the same people or not 😅
@@wildrvlife We are talking about the same Vroom system. Red Bay AL is the home of Tiffin Motorhomes. Tiffin builds their RVs using Schwintek on some slides. There is a really good Vroom installer near there who does after-market replacement of the Schwintech system. Seems like a lot of Tiffin owners are choosing to replace their unpredictable Schwintek systems. Sounds like you are working with the original developer of the Vroom.

Just curious....can you explain to me why you want to go to Mexico when the government has warned against it? Do you ever think that you could be targeted? Tourist get hurt and killed! Why do you put the one dog in a kennel while in the truck
Is the living room slide a cable slide? Our gearbox went bad and we replaced it ourselves. That noise sounds the same.
It's the lippert through frame slide system. I replaced the gear pack and adjusted it. It just won't work right.
