Why else do you think the Parkland shooter cruz was kept around regardless of how many times the FBI and gov't were told about him? Gov't corruption and incompetence at nearly every level failed all of America and specifically that school, along with the moronic notion that "weapon free zones" do anything to stop a criminal or deranged student, when they actually embolden criminals and make the victims helpless. @@JenamDrag0n Does not matter if your poor or rich and can afford to send children to private or public schools. 80% of what you learn in highschool is almost never applied the people who created standardized testing and confessed that they regret how they modeled it because it is to narrow and the curriculum that they are being forced to teach will not apply in most of their lives. And yes the original model for a school system was meant to be that of private and public schools were suppose to be for the poor, really poor at that, not the middle class, upper class, or even middle of the lowest class. But now they made it to where the standard is public versus the system it was designed for which was private. It is asinine to think that a model built on a principle of quality education in teaching people life skills and knowledge they will need to function as a member of society would work in a day and age where they are teach quantity and throwing so much at you and grading you off it that you won't be able to function with in a normal societal parameter. I mean seriously do some education reforms that is proactive and something that will take 20 years to implement and by the time it is already be outdated even though it is "new".

I agree, I was home schooled for 7 years and some how everyone thinks we get it easy and that we are stupid. But we end up working harder and having more life experience then public schoolers. Not to say that they are stupid they just are locked in a brick building all day and we are going out side playing and learning, they can only learn so much.
+Lily Dowd People who are not home schooled still can play outside and learn just as much as homeschooled kids. They have more people to tell their problems, ideas, thoughts etc. to, and more time to do it. They also have access to many different tools (ex., a Cricut) that many parents don't have. They can learn from their friend's mistakes and constantly be around their peers. Seriously, I'm curious, why would you say that we don't work as hard as you guys do and that we can only learn so much? I am not at all saying that kids who aren't homeschooled are smarter than homeschooled kids, I just want you to think before you make an uneducated comment.
+Mark Potts No one is saying public schooled kids don't learn anything (at least I'm not). True, we may not have a Cricut, but we have other things that public schoolers don't have (ex. co-ops). I'm sure there are some kids who work harder than us. When we point out those things, we're talking about the kids who go to school because they're forced to or don't care as much. But while you're saying we're making fun of you, you're also making fun of us by saying that we have no friends- or never see them. So rather than say that, it would be easier to say "hey, I think you meant to word it this way" or "that's not what public schools are always like". We also do many extracurricular activities, for example I've done a girls' coding club where we used a Sphero. Don't assume all homeschoolers are the same. Just make sure you're being considerate, as I'm sure Lily didn't mean to offend you.

I agree, I was home schooled for 7 years and some how everyone thinks we get it easy and that we are stupid. But we end up working harder and having more life experience then public schoolers. Not to say that they are stupid they just are locked in a brick building all day and we are going out side playing and learning, they can only learn so much.
+Lily Dowd People who are not home schooled still can play outside and learn just as much as homeschooled kids. They have more people to tell their problems, ideas, thoughts etc. to, and more time to do it. They also have access to many different tools (ex., a Cricut) that many parents don't have. They can learn from their friend's mistakes and constantly be around their peers. Seriously, I'm curious, why would you say that we don't work as hard as you guys do and that we can only learn so much? I am not at all saying that kids who aren't homeschooled are smarter than homeschooled kids, I just want you to think before you make an uneducated comment.
+Mark Potts No one is saying public schooled kids don't learn anything (at least I'm not). True, we may not have a Cricut, but we have other things that public schoolers don't have (ex. co-ops). I'm sure there are some kids who work harder than us. When we point out those things, we're talking about the kids who go to school because they're forced to or don't care as much. But while you're saying we're making fun of you, you're also making fun of us by saying that we have no friends- or never see them. So rather than say that, it would be easier to say "hey, I think you meant to word it this way" or "that's not what public schools are always like". We also do many extracurricular activities, for example I've done a girls' coding club where we used a Sphero. Don't assume all homeschoolers are the same. Just make sure you're being considerate, as I'm sure Lily didn't mean to offend you.

I was homeschooled and didn't know basic Algebra until I taught myself as an adult.
+zack cannon Though I agree it really depends, I have a feeling if they still watch Bob the builder unironically at an older age, they may be homeschooled for a reason? (this isn't meant to e offensive, just some kids are homeschooled for mental reasons.)
