I was thinking that to, but knowing whitebeard he wouldn’t be okay with anyone killing his crew members. I’d assume roger is the same way, but especially whitebeard since he explicitly states his crew is his beloved family. My guess is people were just critically wounded here rather than killed, such as Rayleigh slashing up a few guys in the stomach. Roger and whitebeard fight all the time so I’m sure it’s a known rule between them and their crews to injure rather than kill.

The difference is that if Garp wants to beat a Yonko he has to be at his prime otherwise he can't. And still I don't think he beats a person of this status "easily" especially if this one is at his premium too it will be complicated and he can lose too. The problem is that he knew that there was not too much time left to live because of his illness (further proof that he was not at his premium at that time) and he considers Whitebeard as a friend and he has so much respect for him that after that he asked her to lend him Oden in his crew. So again why hurt Whitebeard? Rayleigh had an extremely monstrous level in this battle as well but his bounty was in God Valley. But during God Valley incident, they're still learning on something while fighting those monster like luffy and the strawhats currently in wano.. god valley is the final trial for them so maybe after that war they've unlock what they have currently during this fight thats why Rayleigh just only killing time here while his captain having fun..if he get serious may even one of them (gaban) can solo all this crew
At this point in the series, the rivalry between Whitebeard and Roger is probably my favorite rivalry. One minute they are trying to kill each other, and steal their belongings for three straight days. The next they are the best of friends, getting drunk together, all while involved in a secret Santa party. One Piece at its finest.

Actually it’s implied Shanks got his scars from Teach sometime after Roger’s death. Every flashback showing Shanks has his face obscured until they start after Roger’s execution, then they start obscuring them. Also the flashback of Oden on Roger’s crew showed Shanks without his scars.
I always assumed BB scarred Shanks as an adult, I hope that’s the case.

Almost positively certain that the story never once stated his illness actually hampered his strength, only ever specified to shorten his life. If you’re just going to assume it made him weaker then you mine as well just assume how the story will end too since you clearly know more then the author and assume you know his characters better then he does 🙄
