True ! but the problem with us is that even if we speak arabic we can't understand each others. I'm algerian and i can not understand every word they said :/

The only Arabic I know is the one we write newspaper and books with. What we speak isn't Arabic it's just a heavily arabized version of the language which was previously spoken there (along with other influences depending on the countries like french or turkish). The language which was spoken in the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine) before the Arab conquests was Syriac and that's why people from all these countries can more or less understand each others now; they speak the same language which I personally call Levantine. What people refer to as "the levantine dialect of Arabic" is actually a language. Same thing could be said for the other languages which are erroneously considered as Arabic dialects. What separates a language from a dialect is the fact that two dialect of a same language must be mutually intelligible.
Is Levantine mutually intelligible with Maghrebin ? I am Lebanese and nearly everyone I know will tell me they can't understand shit when they speak only catching a few words and that's a pretty well known fact I am not inventing anything, this means that what we speak in Lebanon and what they speak in Morocco for example are not dialects of the same language. However is Lebanese mutually intelligible with Syrian ? Yes, there are differences in pronunciation and some specific words might change but a Syrian and a Lebanese will always understand each others. This means that Syrian and Lebanese are two dialects of a same language (the previously mentioned Levantine language)
