Hey Jon, the Regex features look amazing. Definitely going to check them out first. Though I'm going to save this video as a "go to". Full of fun/good stuff.....many, many thanks.
For the annotations in the video, we use Roboto. And sometimes Montserrat for title screens. If you're referring to the Excel spreadsheets, that is Aptos, which is the default font for the new Office theme. I hope that helps. And thanks for letting us know. 🙂
The growing list of features is great, but it feels like if you are building workbooks for use by others then the fact that features -- new and existing -- are not the same for all of Excel, Excel for Mac, Excel for iPad, and Excel for Web makes it difficult to decide if/when to use them. You'd have to know that all your users were on the same Excel flavor, and design your stuff for that; or know the subset of features that is common to all flavors, otherwise you risk providing workbooks that work for some but not for others. Unless you know different? 🙂
Thanks Francisco! The TRANSLATE function is still in beta. But the Excel Feature Flyer says Coming Soon for the Current Channel. So hopefully you'll get it soon. 🤞
I need some help in formatting the bidirectional data bars in the newly updated Excel. I can't find the minimum and maximum values in the manage rules section. Does anyone have an idea how to do it? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for those and can you include an icon to show features that are not available on enterprise channel yet, even if they should be. We're still waiting for check boxes for example
Thanks for the feedback, Richard! I was actually thinking to create a small icon menu with the availability across versions but thought it might be too confusing for the viewer. I guess I was wrong. 🙂 Micorsoft does have a spreadsheet called the Excel Features Flyer that shows the availability of many new features across the different channels. Here's a link to the file. onedrive.live.com/View.aspx?resid=E07B6F5DD91EC58B!261&authkey=!AMNbD8E1w2sfb9c They also embed this on the monthly Excel Blog posts. techcommunity.microsoft.com/category/microsoft365/blog/excelblog I'll do a follow up video on this to help bring awareness to it. These can be some good resources when you feel stuck waiting for a feature. I know it can be tough. I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! 🙂
I found the FocusCell is often not available in older worksbooks (like initially made 10 years ago). Bug or feature? I might be interested in Forms, but playing around with it, with this video on pause, I'm wondering if it's even possible to have any other entry format than just a column of questions taking up a lot of space. Like: I want to be able to input 24 numbers for the 24 hours in a weekday, that is more convenient when that's in a table like structure. Also, because I want a row below it with the 24 hours in a weekendday. Or 2 columns, that's fine too. Oh, and a few 'cells' would preferably have a different colour (weekdays hour 8-19)
Hi Henriette, That's interesting on the Focus Cell not working. It might be a bug or limitation. My initial thought was the file type. But I tried an old xls file type and Focus Cell still worked for me. In regards to Forms, the questions are limited to the question types that Forms currently offers. And the results of those questions will be added to the table in the spreadsheet. You might be able to achieve the grid like question with the Likert question type. You can checkout the forms at forms.office.com/ I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! 🙂
Sorry, I forgot to include that link in the description. Here is the link to the video that explains the full setup. I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! 🙂
The protect and macro are not applicable in mac. We send a mail with excel made in windows with protection but when received in mac the protection and macros have been disabled. Help us on this
Hi Sajad, I'm not sure about that specific issue. The Mac version of Excel does have some limitations when it comes to VBA, but I'm not familiar with the sheet protection issue.
Man I’m still waiting for the checkbox feature to show up. I have 365 but I always use the desktop version since the online version is limited. Can I get the checkbox feature?
Checkboxes have been rolled out to the Windows desktop version for the Current channel for M365. I don't believe they've been rolled out to the other channels yet. So, if you are on the Monthly Enterprise or Semi-Annual channels, you probably don't have it. Here's a link to a spreadsheet that shows a list of features and what version they are currently available on. onedrive.live.com/View.aspx?resid=E07B6F5DD91EC58B!261&authkey=!AMNbD8E1w2sfb9c Microsoft also embeds the spreadsheet on their monthly announcement blog posts. Hi Jhon thanks 👍 for making such informative videos on Ms Excel. Could you let me know how to download this excel version that contains all those features you are describing..
Hi Mohammed, Sure thing. Here is a link to more info on the Insiders program where you can get the Beta version. I'm using the Beta version in most of my videos. And I'm working on an upcoming video that explains more about this. support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/join-the-microsoft-365-insider-program-3c7dda4f-4d05-0783-3a9a-182b50acb8a9 I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice day! 🙂
Good spot, Gavin! I'm not sure if that is just something being tested in Beta or if it's made it to production. I also don't know the reason for it. My guess is that with high contrast only enabled, it's a bit more difficult to see the shades of colors when they are surrounded by white cells. When it's off, and you see all shades in each column, it seems to be easier to decipher each shade. Probably one of those weird tricks our brain plays on us... So that might be a reason that MS made the color palette bigger. The size has increased in other Office apps including PowerPoint and Word. I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! 🙂
Thanks Rajeev! I used several different files for the video and haven't combined them yet. However, we have a blog post with links to other posts on these topics. Most of those linked posts have the companion Excel file that you can download. So, if there was a particular section that interested you, like the checkboxes, you will be able to find the download file here. www.excelcampus.com/tips-shortcuts/25-new-excel-features-from-2024/ I hope that helps. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! 🙂
Great new features! Are we able to download the file you've used in the video so we can play with the features? Thank you.
The "copy link to sheet view" is revolutionary, can't wait to see its nuances when many other things have otherwise changed in the file

Another great tutorial.. Congrats
Excellent! This was featured on The Daily Demo yesterday.
Awesome! I'm honored to be featured. Thanks so much, Jacqueline! 🙏
Thank you, Very useful ♥
TRIMRANGE also is teamed with a useful adjunct feature, e.g. C.:.C ,which in effect converts the C column into a dynamic range.
I like (and are waiting for) the Trimrange
What font are you using? It's so easy to read.
For the annotations in the video, we use Roboto. And sometimes Montserrat for title screens.
If you're referring to the Excel spreadsheets, that is Aptos, which is the default font for the new Office theme.
I hope that helps. And thanks for letting us know. 🙂
I just discovered pivot tables on ipad just last week!
Very good, congratulations
Thanks so much, Jose!
I love it 🤩

Great video, great updates, although I can't see the translate function which I really need...

I remember seeing a special vba function made for the focus function
Yes, there are several workarounds with VBA.
Thanks for those and can you include an icon to show features that are not available on enterprise channel yet, even if they should be. We're still waiting for check boxes for example

wow. 🥰😍
Will Microsoft in sometime make Slicers appear as drop-down lists as in Power Bi? 🤔
That would be nice! 🤞

@@ExcelCampus thanks alot for your response
which verion is this exactly
Great question! It's mostly the Beta/Insiders version of the Windows Desktop version. Except for the parts on the web, Mac, or iPad versions.
Python associated formulas

I've been waiting for the nose picker update 4 years 🛀

I noticed the colour palette seems bigger, can't see the point.
