ABOUT TUTSBYKAI:
My name's Kai and I create short, sweet tutorials to help anyone and everyone on the search for how to create their own art. If I helped you in any way... please subscribe - so you never miss another tutorial.
I'm actually here because I just grabbed MixCraft in a humble bundle and I'm trying to figure out how to use it.
Same here dude! Still trying to figure out how to get the included programs like pianissimo to work the way I want em to
@@Tseudonymous I can answer that. When you install Pianissimo, after it asks you where you want to install the program, it'll ask you where you want to install its VST. Put that in C:\Program Files\Mixcraft 9\VST Then let it install.
@@sandakureva aah sounds logical. I'm gonna reinstall it then. Thank you :)
@@Tseudonymous You can also just copy/paste its .dll file into Mixcraft's VST folders.
Same bro. It's surprisingly good
I accidentally installed this when I was 12 years old... i thought it was a minecraft file... It's been 5 years now and I'd like to get this accident better lmao
I love the variety of content you have on this channel! Is super amazing a, thanks!! Keep up the great work
Thank you so much my guy! :) I'm glad you feel that way! More music and other really cool things I've just become a part of, are on their way as well!
I got the bundle with 9 and it's such an easy interface to learn once you get the hang of playing around with it. I love it
I love you dude! Make more of these please! Love the content!
Thank you for the tutorial. This is efficiency and the best one.
love the pace of your instruction. works for me. thanks
Thank you very much pal! Really appreciate you saying that :)
Hey, just downloaded mixcraft and loving the work you do, keep it up!
That “Mix to New Clip” option is going to change my DAWS Life! I’ve had Mixcraft for over a year now, and never made anything I’m happy with, because I couldn’t get anything to loop properly. And I can’t play piano….
But now, I can “play” piano and loop the outcome and have it work.!
Dude your video is straight forward and I like that
Awesome video cool to see your branching out!!
Wanted to make music tutorials since I started the channel! Glad I'm finally doing it :)
Thanks for the tutorial dude nice 🤙😁
i bought Mixcraft ages ago- probably at least 7 years by now- on Steam, and i've dabbled and messed around with the loops and made some tracks, but i think i'm gonna learn how to properly use the program i spent a whole 50 bucks on. pretty excited to see where it can take me.
thanks lad, i just bought mixcraft from humble bundle and have not a single clue what i'm doing
how would one... side track the pro version, lets say we got it on steam and now have 8.1 home studio, is there a possable way to get it or a similer qualtiy plug-in.
How I'll download the mixcraft still now there is no proper guide for download
hey there dude, I know I am late to the game but I have an Akai MPK mini, and I cant get it to work in Mixcraft 9. I know I am missing something. in this video you mentioned you have a external keyboard. any tips how I can get the Akai to work with mixcraft? thanks a lot!
Do you need some kind of input device (such as your mini keyboard) or can you do it with a PC mouse or keyboard?
we shoul buy pianissimo plug in for this mixcraft 8.1 home studio?
Hello I have a question I hope you can help me with.
I record live audio for church and the burn it to a cd. I can only find CDs that have a max of 80 min. Sometimes our services go longer.
My question is how do I make two disk from one service.
How do I split the recorded track to make two disk. A part 1 and part 2.
If you have a video on that please reply with link.
Thank you, Chris.
How do I setup my midi device launchkey 49 mk3?
Okay, but how are you getting notes into the DAW? Are you using your computer keyboard or a MIDI keyboard plugged into your computer? If you're using a MIDI keyboard, can you enter notes without a MIDI Keyboard? Can you write notes on a staff and have the instrument play those notes?
when I play the mixcraft virtual piano track it just plays the piano sound on my kurzweil kbd. What setting should my keyboard be on so it plays mixcraft sounds?
If your keyboard is connected to your computer and is also making sounds through Mixcraft, then I recommend just turning down the volume on your keyboard itself, manually :)
Great guide! Wow have you guys thought about how spoiled we are? Twenty years ago just one of these VSTi's would mean getting the hardware stuff after saving or being a lucky kid on Christmas! Now we suddenly have so much instant access to all this _stuff_ that we don't even know what to do with it all!
I remember when I was a kid in the 80's begging and hoping that I'd get a Casio Keyboard with five bad sounding samples of instruments and maybe a memory bank for christmas, let alone a full studio, with including pedals and effects and mixing stuff! OK I still have to beg for that new guitar or controller interface, but now when I plug those babies in I am set!! So set I don't even know where to start. Back then I would have sat for weeks with just that delay pedal and that distortion pedal I got for Christmas to hone in on the best possible tone I could get with them, since I had nothing else!
I love the passion for analog and practical hardware in a studio, but it is SO expensive, and if you're like me and create music in your home - digital workstations and vst's are PERFECT for you as a producer. It just takes time to get use to if you're use to traditional music creation, but believe me - there's a lot of fun to be had digitally as well! :)
Is there a difference between the 8th and 9th Mixcraft? Just curious if this guide can apply to the 9th version.
All of this pretty much applies to 9! 9 just has more features and looks slightly different :)
I would like to get into music, but I don't know where to start. Which free software can I use to get a feel for making music? Does software like this take a lot of space on a computer? Are there any risks to having software like this on my computer, for instance, will it overwrite my sound card (I don't want that to happen, by the way)? If my sound card gets overwritten, how can I fix it?
So many factors play into everything you just said :D For instance... are you on Linux, Windows or Mac? And of course, every program in the world will take up a different amount of space ;D Also... risks of having software like this? Again, every program is different, some programs give viruses, some don't :D It has nothing to do with DAWs in specific... plus, you can't speak for every program in generalization. Your sound card shouldn't be touched unless you do something to mess it up manually - or unless that specific program is doing something it shouldn't. LMMS is a nice free DAW - but it's not as pretty as Mixcraft or other DAWs :D
@@TutsByKai I use Windows. I was looking into LMMS, but I'm not sure if it will damage my sound card or not.
Programs usually just don't randomly mess up your sound card :D Give it a go, maybe you'll like it - until you can afford to grab a better DAW :)
I have an audio interface for my guitar I want to play along with the music on my computer and record it, how would I used this software to accomplish this?
With an audio track, click the drop down arrow and select the audio interface. If your guitar and interface are plugged up correctly - everything should work once you hit record :) I might make a video on this soon, since this is something that I had to figure out myself a year ago.
@@TutsByKai pleas do
Mixcraft is the best software put out
You should give LMMS a try.
I have! It's nice, especially for a free program... but since I already use Mixcraft - it is a HUGE step backwards. I really wanted to make it my main DAW at one point, because I wanted to get everything I could away from Windows... but I just can't leave Mixcraft for LMMS (or at least just yet ;D ) I was going to boot it up once more, to let others know that there's a nice, free DAW available on Linux!
Hey me again. I figured out how it works!
Except... I prefer using the musical staff over the piano roll. Is that weird?
To each is own!
I like Mixcraft - but its very fidlly to use Kontakt with it !
What is the keyboard you used at 1:40?
Just the default piano :D I mentioned that it says the name of the piano on the track (1. Acoustic Piano) :) In the part 2 of this guide, I bring up a MUCH better piano VST called Pianissimo - which is amazingly more realistic than Mixcraft's not so great (sorry Mixcraft - I still love you) default piano :D
@@TutsByKai Oh, sorry, I should have specified, what MIDI keyboard were you playing on?
Oh hahaha! The timestamp confused me, played it more than just that at 1:40 :D It's a Casio LK-260. A perfect keyboard
@@TutsByKai Thank you!
Anytime! :)
can this program record midi ?
Yup!
Aye Mixcraft!
I love Mixcraft down to my bones! Been my baby for years and years :D
Does mix craft have good auto tune?
Pro Studio, comes with Melodyne, which is ESSENTIAL pitch correction. But auto tune? Not by default. It comes with Kerovee... but it's not the best. Waves Real Time Tune is perfect, but costs money.
TutsByKai could I install waves real time in adobe audition?
I need to do this as an assignment T-T
I don't need this but if I do I will make sure to get the program and start making a song
You always need music! Especially if you're an animator :)
That's true so maybe my next animation I will add some :)
Sounds like a plan man! Music is key!
things are about to get mixy
:D MIX IT UP DUDE!
mixcraft currently on humble bundle wink wink
I'm new to Mixcraft & wanted to learn how to begin recording with it, but you got into the effects, plugins, VST and never came out. PLEASE stay on topic and don't waste our time.
This tutorial wasn't suppose to be about recording music, so I did stay on topic :)
how do you have 1000+ stock instruments when i only have ~400 available?!?
nvm you have pro version versus my home studio. great tutorial though! really helped me with the basic GUI! keep up it up man
I actually thought it was MineCraft, and not MixCraft😂
Haha! I've done that before :D
