- Doing a shave today with a new razor from Global Shave Club- Excalibur Adjustable Razor. Also trying some new items from Seven Potions in the U.K. I’ve tried Seven Potions Razor and Brush in a previous video, but this is the first time trying their soaps, oil and balm.

I can’t wait to try out the Seven Potions line of products. Seems like all the cool kids are doing it! After watching your vids for the last week, I decided to finally ditch the cartridge. My Merkur 34C came in today, and I have a blade sampler on the way. Great vid as always! I'm definitely putting Seven Potions on the list.
Hey, if you're just changing to Wet Shaving, I'd totally recommend you try Taylor of Old Bond Street and Proraso shaving creams, they're amazing!

If the Excalibur looks familiar, that's because it is one of their Weishi rebrands. Designed in Japan but made in Hong Kong, I think they told me when I asked GSC / Swiss Shave (though from Weishi's home page, more likely Guangdong). As for other brands that they are selling, among other things they now carry a selection of Parker razors and brushes, and Taconic soaps (among other things).
If I was limited to one company for razors, I would choose Parker.
Hey Ken, I've been watching your videos for the past few weeks and have finally switched to wet shaving and have gotten rid of the mach 3. I purchased a Merkur 23c, Gillette nacet blades, omega professional boar brush, col. conk bay rum soap, and a few aftershaves. I love the process and find it so relaxing and the shave itself is so smooth. I went 3 passes my first time with the razor and blades listed above and surprisingly no cuts. I love it so much and thank you for convincing me to make the switch and I gotta say I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Hi! I am a new safety razor user having just converted from cartridges having just converted from electrics. The electrics were just too expensive to replace once a year, and the cartridges were so outrageously overpriced I got mad and decided to try safety razors. I appreciate your videos so much. They are so helpful. I bought the EJ black 3D diamond razor. I only used it once and it worked out great. Can't wait to get where I can be as smooth as you are take care buddy.
D.e razor shaving is cheaper as long as you dont turn it into a hobby. I have bought like 30 soap tubs and 8 razors And all the blade samples you can think since I started traditional wet shaving two years ago

Great video. Im sure LA will still have the super bowl with so much money on the table at stake. Sunday it snowed then changed to rain & slush. Thursday morning it rained then turned to snow.

Hey, Ken. I too have the Excalibur. My go to razor is the Rockwell 6C with plate #5. I started out with setting 6 on the Excalibur thinking it would be close to the Rockwell. It was a bloodbath! The next shave I used setting 2 and it was much better. It is a very aggressive razor for me. Thanks for all the great videos.

I've found that a flat finish plus knurling means you get a good grip even when your hands are wet. Shiny razors look nice but I'd prefer a firm grip.

Nice shave with a GSC rebrand. Amazon sells the same razor by Weishi but at a higher price.
Great shave. The razor looks the same as the Weishi adjustable razor to me. It may be a little odd, but that could put people off of buying that similar looking razor. It’s just my observation from what I’ve seen of that razor. Have a good one!

Excalibur is a rebranded Vikings blade emperor "Ragnar" edition. For the price of shipping plus the cost, I can get it cheaper and faster from amazon.
That razor is a spitting image of my Weishi.

Ken , while I was looking at the Excalibur, it reminded me of the Vikings blade Ragnar edition from Vikings blade. Can you confirm? Just saying because for almost the same price, 29.99 plus shipping, I would rather get it from amazon. Its very similar to the Ragnar edition from Vikings blade and thos have 9 settings plus max.

I bought my 1st ever safety razor king c . Just very nervous to use it also need suggestions on blades . Soap etc etc
Buy a small sampler pack of blades that have Derby, Voskhod, Shark and a few others...available on Amazon. Buy a stick of Arko or equivalent (it lasts a long time), maybe a tub of Proraso and a shave cream such as Cremo, which is available many places. If you want a nice, but inexpensive after shave balm/lotion...try the Aqua Velva 5 in 1. Of course buy yourself an inexpensive synthetic brush. The Arko and Cremo can be face lathered. The Proraso can be lathered in the tub. Most items are available on eBay if want to go that route. Take it slow and have fun!

No clicks, no good!!! Eventually you will discover the adjustment moving during the shave!!!
I have had mine for quite a long time and this has not been a problem. There is no click, but there is enough friction that keeps the dial from moving.
I would rather shave with a piece of broken glass than send another cent to Sheldon the con artist, after his debacle of a “Fat Guy” release. His toggle will be just as awful.
