Katarina is not a difficult champion yet she's not noob friendly. What makes her difficult is being able to judge fights and situations, when to move, when to go in etc. so any challenger should be able to pick her up, but not every player in a lower rank could.
This Darius getting tilted all on his own while his entire team is hard winning is such peak League.

As if that high risk wasn't "maybe you are less useful in the game", and the reward "Oh you got 3 kills? You end the game".
I think you did a rly good job for a first time, it shows you actually analyze and understand what champions you're facing and how they work (which is pretty rare as people just dumb rage on Kata, walking in daggers and wondering why they die).
With that said, the Pyke was rly not playing, giving you the freeest lane while the greatest weakness of Kata is being bullied in lane, having no wave control, being pressured under turret leading to missing cs, and having no roam opportunities.
I feel the only moment where you could have played better if you knew the limits of the champ better, is after 14:44, a lot of free kills opportunities missed

@@Hichi katarina's damage is all point and click and she instantly dashes to her target. Compare that to other assassins like zed or akali that actually have to land skill shots and you'll see katarina is not hard. What is hard about a point and click q, a point and click e that resets, and all your damage coming from R and dagger jumps which are impossible to miss if you're in range of your target?

@@shubhod9569 That wasnt my question, but I guess you kind of answer it in a different way. Ive played Katarina, Zed and Akali and I find Katarina alot harder, but thats my subjective opinion. I love all of them. Katarina needs alot of understanding in terms of wave management, Trading, Powerspikes and Positioning ( especially in teamfights). The dmg Katarina does is lackluster if you play her like you would Zed or Akali. Mechanical execution isnt the only source of difficulty you can have. After playing a champ for a bit, you'll be able execute most champions. The thing with Katarina is ( if you actually play her) that she does not do much dmg if you dont get kills on her, her csing is god awful ( similar to akali there) so you rly have to roam and get the right picks to get strong. Akali and Zed can roam, but most of the time dont have to.

Generally better to rush nashors when running conq because you can stack it quickly weaving in aa’s between ur abilities. Proto is fine with elec but nashors is preferred. Maybe nashor changes make it not worth the rush anymore
Nashors is preferred for all builds unless going AD ofc. It’s practically never better to rush proto first ever since it doesn’t give you anything that nashors doesn’t do better besides the extra dash

And its not like PLAYING her is not difficult, it is *extremely* difficult when she's not decent because you have to play almost perfectly to win a fight.
They nerf her until it's barely playable and only then people stop complaining about her in lower elo.

As a kat main, I have to say I don't think she's necessarily "hard" to play, she has her combos and doing them is more of a muscle memory thing, and also knowing how to optimaly use shunpo to outplay enemies. The thing that's hard for her is that her matchups are considerably hard, and you need to have some impact in the game since she is feast or famine after all. The way she excels is by exploiting enemies mistakes, but if they don't make mistakes, thats where it gets REALLY hard for her, because she NEEDS to be punish enemies when possible, but being melee and having high CDs early makes it risky for her
It makes sense for you to do well on her since you have a lot of good knowledge on how to trade and look for picks and ganks and not be too impatient, many kats die like crazy trying to fight all the time haha
Kat v Pyke is a super Kat favored matchup. Pyke wins lvl 1-2 but pretty much every loses every level after that. It’s a really rough matchup that pyke can only really win by making good roams, and pyke definitely needs maw in this matchup.
Not to downplay Pekin’s achievement of first timing Kat in master elo, but they did get blessed with a pretty easy matchup

I wouldn’t say super favored. Pyke has better sustain and he wins all short trades and can disengage from long trades with one button that kat can’t stop. This pyke is playing ridiculously passively considering ap kat is absolute dog shit pre nashors
that and he played super far up and Jarvin never ganked for the Pyke which would just be free for them early

I always thought she wasn't hard to play but easy to make mistakes on. Many times I've E'd into certain death because I misjudged the situation.
Honestly that makes sense yeah. Kinda like akali, her mechanics themselves aren't hard to learn, but its very easy to dash/shunpo into like 5 people and get ccd for like 5 minutes lol. I get a lot of mileage off of playing akali slow and carefully, sometimes thats all you need to win thr mental game and get a big lead
I mean that the downside off assassins in general. You need to know your position in teamfights and if you geht caught or fall behind you’re basically useless. That’s why they’re „hard“ to play. It’s decision making.

as Katarina you will generally always outtrade a pyke mid by simply extending the fight to more cooldowns. he has to land everything and you miss mostly everything for him to with the trade so it all comes down to whether you get hit by cc
Using a match against the most passive pyke mid player I've ever seen to call kat an easy champion when the difficult part is her unplayable early laning phase is a bit far fetched imo

Katarina is not difficult but if you have a bad early and a focus on you with some champion who can cc you.... It start to be difficult to play. You got help from your support and jungler. It was a good game ! wp :)

Let's be honest the only reason kat has a positive winrate is cause veigar and asol have been in the meta for the past couple of patches.

dagger also procs on hit to all enemies hit so its just free dmg boost to all of ur abilities
KatEvolved puts 3 points into E before maximising Q so that E resets are almost immediate.
It does not change anything, CD refund is based on levels
@@shiro7282 this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen lmao, 3 point E has instant reset because the base cooldown is so low that the cd refund puts it at less than a second. Tell me you have no idea what you’re talking abt without telling me
@@shiro7282 that's what putting 3 points into E means. You can only upgrade it as you level up.
@@thoughtfulhedonist what he means is that the cooldown of shunpo lowers percent based with the passive, and it's based on katarina's level (at 6, 11, 16), not the skill's level. Upgrading the skill lowers the cooldown too tho, but by a fixated time like a second or so
@@marquitomarquito10 yes, that's what I meant. By lvl 6, if you put one point in Q and W, 3 points in E and one point in R, then E's cooldown will be at 11 seconds. If she retrieved a dagger, the cooldown will be reduced by 9.3 seconds which is almost 10. So, effectively shunpo goes to only 1 sec cooldown if you retrieve a dagger. That's what I meant by having almost immediate shunpo resets.

easiest matchups as a kat: 1) melee 2) no instantclick hard cc 3) no insanely good waveclear (which 85% of midlane champions do have)
200k mastery points and i have never faced a pyke mid, but i can't imagine him to be a difficult enemy. try vex or fizz or literally any other champ
The argument isn't that the champion is "Hard", but that it takes the most amount of time to master, and this isn't some random claim that Katarina mains make. It comes from Riot statistics. Phreak even referenced this in one of his recent patch rundowns.
There's also a very big difference between a Challenger player picking up a champion and literally anyone else doing it. You seem to forget that you're quite literally in the top 0.03% of players.
It's still painfully obvious the difference between someone who plays the champion and someone who doesn't, even from level 1, despite how well you played generally.

Once you know how the daggers work I think she is easy to play. She just has many/mostly bad matchups so you rely on ganks or other lanes not accounting for roams, but once you're ahead becomes a monster.
That and kat is one of those champs where you got make split second decisions on when to go in/ is it worth jumping in a middle of a teamfight and potentially die as a result, which is probably why people consider her as the more difficult champs to master.
Kat has a pretty high skill ceiling since she has such great mobility. Overall she’s not ‘easy’ but definitely not some galaxy brained champ to pick up at all

Kat herself isn't hard what's hard is judging what you should do and by the time you build your confidence up for a 5 man ult everyones cooldowns are off and they cc you to death. Just like assassins like Talon or Akali you have to have this fearless mindset and be able to make decisions instantly without faltering. Reason why KatEvolved is so good on Kat is not only for his godly gameplay but also not fearing and sometimes trusting his teammates to finish the job if he messes up. Kat herself is not to say broken but she can literally use almost every damage item in the game other than adc items (she used to be able to use Kraken lol). Anyways I have no idea what im talking about and I may be talking out my ass because I only play Kat like once every week lol.

Katarina is definitely harder than most champs imo, don't think she is weak though just difficult laning phase but mid game she's really strong what I like about her is the 1+ second delay on her passive, personally I find it easy to play against kat she is slippery but easy to punish, if you see a kat use W in lane just run at her it has a 14+ second cd and she can't Q passive in melee range, I believe kat has plenty of counterplay.
I feel like alternator is not a good rush on Kata, blasting wand does way more for you for cheaper 🙂

Don’t step on daggers, and punish her early game as hard as possible. Ultimately since you’re low elo your team is the biggest handicap to beating kat

@@kennethponce1640 Follow or intercept. In those situations you’re entirely dependent on your side laners not being blind deaf apes with no hands. Almost every jungler does extremely well into kat unless she’s like 20/0 and like 3-4 levels up on everyone. It’s a snowball champ that is useless if she doesn’t get the opportunity to snowball
One of the easiest ways though is to try to get ur team to swap for you to be near last pick in champ select and counter pick with something nearly unbeatable like Kassadin or Vex due to their kits
Kata would be difficult if she didn't scale with every item in the game and had super inflated dmg. When ure used to playing mages that make jokes instead of dmg she feels easy to win with

A lot of control mages lose to her tho. But she’s useless if she gets behind. He played against a support main in this vid, and pyke isn’t good into her anyways. I like pekin but I think he has a lot of salt towards kat because he can’t deal with very skilled kat players that well.

I think the hardest part of kata is to imagine the whole fight before its happening and place all daggers before resets... So you can have extra damage plus escapes while all your cd's are reset 🤷🏻♂️ but the weird thing is that even at master gm people keep walk on daggers... Just like they don't calculate you 🤣🤣
Kat and akali = my most banned mid lane champs. Too many dashes, low cooldowns, and insane damage for no reason. Ult does 100-0 and resets on kill. Seen kat players and akali players come back from 0/5 and 40-50 CS and then just take over the game.
