Lol that's the same method I use when I crave junk food or junk convenience store food. I like staying indoors a whole lot more than to leave my house and spend money on something I eventually decide that it's just better to make it at home.
I love to cook and cooking my favourite junk food makes me automatically make it a healthier version of that food that suits to my personal taste which is easy to figure out when you're the one cooking.
Ever since I learned to cook, junk food lost it's hold on me....the only thing it has going for it is probably the convenience of somebody else making it for you, but with proper prep it gets easier to make your own food.

@@tjmoudy That's not how it works for everyone. Some people can't eat certain things "in moderation" and, for them, having a single cheeto could trigger a binge, so it's better to abstain - just like former alcoholics often can't "drink in moderation", so they stop consuming alcohol entirely. I’m obese and I’ve decided this year to get my shit together and I’ve started losing weight and eating healthy. It’s extremely hard and difficult. I’m tempted a lot to eat unhealthy.
But in these three months I’ve lost 12 kgs (26 pounds) so I’m very happy and I’m hoping to get to my goal weight at the end of this year 😊
My weight does fluctuate but I try not let it get me down and keep going.
    (I went from 103 kgs (227 pounds) to 91 kgs (200 pounds))
Edit: I totally went off the bandwagon and gained way more weight than I would have liked. I’d like to blame it on my stress eating because it was my last year of high school but I can’t blame anyone else but myself.
At the beginning of this year I was 113 kg (249 pounds) and now in February I am now 107 kg
Although it is less than I’d like I have still lost and I am determined to lose it all. One of the reasons why I am on a exercise challenge with a personal trainer with a set diet and I will be starting to take Ozempic prescribed by my doctor 😊

I like how you brought up how your parents never told you no. My parents were the opposite, they were very mindful of the quality of food that they put on the table because my parents grew up very poor. I mean we weren’t that much well off but we were better than what they had they growing up (pretty much a shack on a rocky farm... outport Newfoundland). My dad actually had Ricketts when he was a child he was so malnourished because they didn’t have any food. My dad told me once that my grandmother would make cabbage soup often because that’s all they had. I believe my Dad was quite fearful that because he malnourished as a child that we would be as well, because even though he had more money than growing up, he still didn’t have enough for the five of us. My Mom planned every single meal down to how much bread we needed and she would make her own bread as well. The only sugar we were allowed was on Fridays when we had our allowance, which was probably three dollars. Or if we went to our grandmothers and she’d gave us some of those hard ass cookies that you had to dunk into milk or tea in order to eat. But having that structure when I was young came in handy when it was time for me to lose weight (my weight gain was due to undiagnosed PCOS and trauma caused by the military; when you’re in the darkness it’s very easy to give up you could say) but because I had that structure as a child I knew what foods I needed to eat, and I knew how to tell myself no. Self-control is a major factor in weight loss.; and I’m a firm believer that if you yourself cannot tell yourself no, then you need to seek a professional to help you with that self control and breaking down why you can’t tell yourself no.

Cookies & cakes are precious, precious treats). I went off the rails a bit when i got my first job as in i ate instant noodle and/or junk snacks more than once per week. Plus unfortunately that job got me work overtime a lot and the only food available past 12pm is fast food. My freshman 15 finally appears then lol. It now has been stabilized though. Since my body never got used to those, fast food and soda made me feel awful afterwards so it's limited to once per 3 months or if i'm feeling ravenous, once a month.
