For price of all these kits, they shouldve included some size 2 & 1 scatter terrain also...meaning that if you do buy all 3 you couldve easily had an entire filled board with themed terrain...
Agreed. $/£ 185 sure seems like you should be able to fill up a themed 9 tile board. I understand the high price for the tank because you get the UE with it (R&D just like a character), but the others just being some plastic would cause a sense of buyers remorse.
The power stations and turrets should have been one box. Weapon-X looks like a great deal compared to these. At least the encounter comes with cardboard game content.
The other issue is that it’s highly specific in its theme, while city terrain feels more generic. Most people want a metro/big city theme for their super heroes, while not as many want hydra base theme…
Genuine question for you- Have you found *any* printed terrain that doesn't have obvious print lines? I've bought a dozen or so pieces, and while they are cool and fun designs, the pain of the lines (either the effort to fill them in, or the disappointment of painting over them and seeing them pop out) makes them not nearly as good as injection plastic kits. Got any printed options that are as good? Thanks for any info you may be able to share.
the tank has the same problem as the quinjet IMO. lovely models but a pain in the arse to actually use models on. also if you buy all 3 sets for £185 you dont have enough terrain to make a decent table. :/
The quality of the terrain packs for me has never been in question, yes, perhaps the NYC apartments could have been a little more flexible, but the issue is always the price point. Putting these in a big box, doesn't increase the value, there's always the licencing premium that needs to be covered, but there's no rules creation, no card or counter insert, no playtesting. But this is what we have. Part of me wonders if things like the turrets might find a use in a new game a year or so down the road. An MCU equivalent to SW Legion, we already have the grunts to bulk things out. Think of it as the reverse of Shatterpoint
AMG/Asmodee are really taking the pee with there prices. £50 for 4 miniatures in a Shatterpoint Squad was one thing, but I've now seen the Emma Frost set is £50 too. The Emma Frost set consists of 3 small miniatures, come on AMG/Asmodee you are having a laugh!
Thanks for showing the contents of these boxes, but even before that there was no way I was buying these. AMG are having a laugh, they're way overpriced. Shatterpoint is getting flack over it's price, but AMG's gotten away with this for ages with MCP so who can blame them for continuing to overprice things?
Hey Rich, Thank you very much for continuing to support this MCP community with your videos. It's always good to hear your perspective as a much more frequent and competitive player. You asked for feedback, so I hope you'll take this post in that spirit and not as a negative agaist you or your opinion. First off, your concerns about box sizes are good to hear. I do understand that there is cost efficiency in having a set of standard sized boxes, but there is definitely room to be better on this front. Maybe things will change down the road. Next, and maybe this comes from being influenced by decades of buying GW stuff, I really don't think the prices on these are that big a problem. Let's face it, this is a hobby purchase - completely a luxury, and AMG are operating in a capitalist model. They charge what they think they can get and let the market decide. I, personally, felt the quin jet was not worth the price, but mainly becuase the model itself didn't work within the actual rules of the game without house rules! These new kits work just fine and provide some really nice variety on the battlefield. Plus, they have a huge advantage over third party printers - they don't have print lines! Yeah! The price is fine, especially given the cost of the license, as you point out. Lastly, I don't think amount of plastic/number of sprues is a valid way to evaluate value. The plastic is such a trivial cost, and models of different sizes should not be costed based on those factors. Should Pyro cost more than Rocket just because his sprue has more plastic? Nah. We should evaluate on quality and enjoyment. Artists, designers, sculptors, marketers, etc. all need to get paid, too. If they provide us with fun, judge the value based on that, not the amount of solidified dinosaur guts (plastic) in the box. Oh, one more opinion... I don't think it would have been good of AMG to put the extraneous terrain in the ultimate encounter (tank) box. You would have lots and lots of negativity from customers who only wanted the essential elements of the encounter and felt bad about being "forced"* into buying things they don't actually need. *Pet peeve: This is not a "paywall." That term has very specific meaning that is only (only!) for keeping info on the web unavailable until a user pays to read it. Words matter, my man! :) Keep up the good work!

I have a strange bittersweet feeling with MCP... I started the game just a year ago and I don't like the evolution that the game is having along the time. There's a lot of Power Creep in the miniatures range, each new miniature is quite better than its previous version (with and extra paywall, as Logan and Sabretooth with the bunker) and also the prices are rising up to GW levels without any care. We should keep in mind that AMG is manufacturing in China, and the manufacturing costs are totally different to England, for example. And the main problem, IMHO, is the unbalanced affiliations that we have. I'm still waiting to see some competitive affiliations without the need of use unaffiliated characters for make it work (Inhumans, Defenders, Winter Guard....) Thanks for the video!

For that price tag, I’m not sure I would ever get the Tank😕 with Dormammu and Thanos I at least also got characters I could play in the normal game.
The power stations and turrets should have been one box. Weapon-X looks like a great deal compared to these.

oohhhh we just missed you! we're having a MCP tournament this Saturday in Tel Aviv!
NOOOOO - I wish I was a week later now!
Thanks i was going to buy them to use on a custom model but they appear too bug for the application

gonna be building and painting all that stuff up for a game on Wednesday. Sure it's overpriced, but its gonna be a pretty cool looking board.
Thanks for the video. They look great but like all AMG terrain it is way overpriced especially with a lot of 3d printed terrain available

Wow, that's a lot of cash for not much. Hard pass. I could make this stuff with found junk, for free!
Ridiculously priced … thx for showing! Now i know i can stay far, far away from all these!
