I hope Neil Young really a tour here in Brazil .. I would be very happy .. I really like your songs .. I identify a lot with melodies .. You have many fans here in our country, where would love to go to their shows. . Much Thanks for your attention. #NeilYoungComeToBrazil #VenhaAoBrasilNeilYoung
I saw Bert do this at one of the last shows he played, and opening for Neil Young. It was amazing, I'm thankful I got the chance to see him live. Good job, Neil!
His work with Pentangle was... Different but some folks really like it. For other amazing acoustic guitar folks: John Fahey and Leo Kottke from the US. Dave Graham from England.
It fits all of Neil's own songs perfectly which is why he has the greatest voice in rock . Bert's song is better but Neil was going for a different raw sound.
"The entire album, which consists of covers of classic songs by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and others, was recorded in a refurbished 1947 Voice-o-Graph vinyl recording booth at Jack White's Third Man store in Nashville, Tennessee. A message on Young's website described the album as "an unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever"
TONI - thank you for that - I really want to HEAR that whole album - I want to stay up all night, learning the songs, singing them to myself and CRYING MY EYES OUT!
Lost a friend this week... he died a young man... and ill miss him forever... Time is precious and slipping... I'll miss you brother, walk easy, rest well and we will meet again...
They played this video at the Celtic Connections tribute to Bert Jansch. This song by Bert inspired Neil to write The Needle and the Damage Done. Awesome!!!
Neil Young is the om;y person I know that sits on top od Maslow's Hierarchy of needs- self actualization! Everyone else in the World care what others think about them, not Neil- he is amazing!
Neil I've just gotta share with you that a guy just now shared with me that back in the day he & buddy's did all that 70s folks did but another buddy came in all grey & they listened to live rust & they vowed to never go there, and they didn't & he's now made it to 50. So thank you for more than your music but for your messege. It's working.
Neil, you're going to do it until you keel over, obviously, and thank god for that. I have followed you most of the way. I have other obsessions, but I always come back to you. Long may you run.
I love this CD. This song makes me cry. I am fortunate that no one close to me has been through this, but too many beautiful young people in my locale have passed recently from drug overdoses. My heart breaks for the pain their families have gone through.
Neil Young, You Forever ROCK!!! YOU will always be able to bring Me and so MANY OTHERS Back to Wonderful MEMORIES that NoONE ELSE CAN!!! Just hearin' your voice in song, cheers me up and Thank You for that!! :) k33
you funny (Frenchie) guy... but... NY the one pushing purity of PONO.. Not sure what he'd say bout analog on PONO...maybe just take your money and no say nuthin'. Yea, that be it.
At 3:25 the ghostly image of Bert Jansch hoves into view. this was the first Bert Jansch song that swept me away, from his eponymous first album in 1965. Neil produces a beautiful, mournful, and harrowing version of it here. Kudos to Jack White for this bit of recording genius.
Probably my favorite Bert Jansch song. Beautiful cover of this gem of a song. Yo La Tengo also does a lovely rendition. Looking forward to the box set. Peace.
I was totally thinking that, last 3 songs of 'on the beach' or 'will to love' which was recorded around the same time despite not being release til 77.
... great song - and i don't need tabs to play this song ... I can not play by notes ... I just need to neils left hand rigid ... hahaaa ... nice ... ;-) ...
I can't believe anyone would ever be calling Jack White "legendary". Maybe look back in 30 years and then call him "legendary" after a long career of groundbreaking artistry created completely on his own. He's fine, but he's no legend...certainly not yet. I give him credit for recognizing and honoring some of the folks he's chosen to work with who are indeed legendary.

a beautiful rendition of a heart-breaking song.
beckons back to a time when simplicity ruled. "Back in the old folkie days..."
It's always magic, when Neil sings & plays.
Neil Young as original as ever. I love the idea of this album. Can't wait to hear the rest.
Written by the great Scottish singer/songwriter Bert Jansch.
This tune is by Bert Jansch, I can't believe it doesn't mention that anywhere.
They show a pic somewhere in the video..
thanks for letting people know about bert
Isn't he awesome?
Timothy Ryan neil said that bert is to acoustic guitar what jimi is to electric guitar
His work with Pentangle was... Different but some folks really like it. For other amazing acoustic guitar folks: John Fahey and Leo Kottke from the US. Dave Graham from England.
Neil's haunting shaky voice fits this song PERFECTLY.
It fits all of Neil's own songs perfectly which is why he has the greatest voice in rock . Bert's song is better but Neil was going for a different raw sound.
Lost my brother in 2014 to an overdose..still find myself coming back to this song when I'm in my feels.
Love the song, music & Mr. Neil Young of course!
Thank U for sharing!
Only Neil would and could pull this off. He's so out there and right on both and together
Neil Young is a genius...he wrote the songbook for my life

Young is great, but Bert Jansch wrote this one. ua-cam.com/video/oA7npXJLQOU/v-deo.html

A wonderful tribute that Neil Young covers this tune with so much rawness. Huge like!
Perfect, for me it works..sound, feeling, everything...love it!
love the man, the sound, the song.
Outstanding and very moving.
To those who seem to think this is Neil Young's song: it's a cover. The song was written by Bert Jansch, a great songwriter.
Thank you for the update but he done it better lol
@@ryanstevens7366 awesome. Song! A lot of people where I am at can relate because of their past with the needle
I read not long ago that this song inspired Ambulance Blues. Having worn out the LP to learn that song, I could tell right away this is a fact :}
same thing I immediately thought when I heard it...it really is very similar...
That was beautiful, brought a tear to my eye.
Brilliant.
Super idea for a record. He sings it better than any man could. Totally a heavy song.
No words... Neil live forever please.
Neil, you're going to do it until you keel over, obviously, and thank god for that. I have followed you most of the way. I have other obsessions, but I always come back to you. Long may you run.
kindred spirit to willie. it's nice to know people still do it for the love of it all
Love. Just love. If i can only meet this guy... I would die happy as a child.
I love this CD. This song makes me cry. I am fortunate that no one close to me has been through this, but too many beautiful young people in my locale have passed recently from drug overdoses. My heart breaks for the pain their families have gone through.
Wow...Neil you are amazing.

All that matters to Neil is that he is true to his self, this is what this writer and musician has to say.
Probably my favorite Bert Jansch song. Beautiful cover of this gem of a song. Yo La Tengo also does a lovely rendition. Looking forward to the box set. Peace.
beautiful as always!!! great to hear ya Neil!! Another hit for sure!!!
Reminds me of Ambulance Blues... and that's definitely not a bad thing.
I was totally thinking that, last 3 songs of 'on the beach' or 'will to love' which was recorded around the same time despite not being release til 77.
It is the same as Ambulance Blues, with a different chorus. But as you said...........nothin' wrong with that
It IS the inspiration for AB.
It’s a cover of Bert Jansch. I highly recommend that version, it’s far better than Young’s (and this is coming from a big Young fan)
Neil "borrowed" The meloďy frim Bert. They actually played Ambulance Blues together at a Bridge School
Neil never disappoints! Thanks for a lifetime of memories. :)
LOVE you Neil!!!!!

Somebody loan me a dime... I want to call my old-time-used-to-be.
There's the beginning of a new song....
Masterpiece!!
What a musical groundbreaker to everyone. He's right up there with Bob Dylan and The beatles
He didn’t write this song. It was Bert Jansch (Scotland)
Reminds me of ambulance blues from on the beach!
Makes me think about "Ambulance Blues"
