Don’t be embarrassed to show your nails! I too am a huge nail bitter and I really appreciate the fact that you show us how to do nails of short bitten nails! I am planning to do nails part time because I know how it feels going to salons and being judged for having such short nails, so I want nail biters to come to me and feel comfortable. I am still learning everyday and I thank you for this video!❤️
Thanks for sharing how even a professional nail tech bites their nails and how hard it is to do nails with non dominant hand BTW your nail is super cute
A friend of mine asked me to do her nails, i could tell she bit them because of how extremely short they were so i was concerned about how I’m going to fit a tip properly, keep in mind I am a beginner, so I did her nails and fit them the best I could, and I did tell her I’m new to this so I’m not quite sure if these will stay one for awhile because her nails were so short it was kind of difficult to fit them, well like a week in a half later she came back and sure enough the thumbs were the first to pop off, they were the most severely bitten and she said I was right about them popping off so soon and asked me if I could do some research on how to do bitten nails, so here I am, thank you so much for this video, it is quite helpful😊
As a horrendous nail biter myself I really appreciate this video. I'm always trying to do my nails at home to save money and it does save money but I go through a lot of product because I'm not applying it properly and they don't stay. I always thought that it was because my nails were too short and I wasn't able to do them but seeing this gives me hope so thank you so very much.
Yes this was definitely a huge help and confidence booster for someone just starting out as I am and learning. Thank you so much for this video and technique!! ❤
Brilliant work. I love seeing such honest tutorials. As someone who has severe Lichen planus of the nail bed I can relate to "imperfect " nails . Thanks for sharing 👏👏
Thank you so much for this video. This was really necessary because majority of the times attention is given to forms and not tips. Now I can be a little more confident while doing nails for nail biters ❣️
Just the video I was looking for! Thank you this helped. Because everybody seems to be using the forms but I actually wanted to see a video with tips being applied to bitten nails and this did the job so thanks.
Loved this video! All of us nail biters should start a club called “nail biters anonymous” since we all keep it a secret by wearing acrylics or gels. Myself included. We all show up to the meeting with beautiful faux nails denying we have an issue. Ha Ha! Life is funny. Thanks for sharing!!!
Sarah you did very well with your dominant hand 🖐 it’s very hard but doable lol lots of patience 💞 Thank you for sharing, I love your videos, always learning 🌺💚
Certainly need this as my pinky has literally split half way down so only a very small part of the tip will actually fit my pinky and don't fancy sculpting it incase it looks a mess lol
yaaaas, thank you for this! my nails are super thin & damaged they look like the are bitten, so i will definitely be using this tutorial to do my nails again. 💕
Great job. I also am a nail bitter, have been since I was a child. Very hard to stop. I know what you are dealing with. Going to try this method, looks great. Wish me luck.😊😴 Thanks keep up the great videos. Very helpful!
Thank you for this. I am an extreme nail bitter and am embarrassed to get my nails done. I have Had nail techs tell me off literally for biting ( like that’s going to stop me). So I need to put fake nails on so my nails can grow before I go to the salon. Craziness. If you are in Columbus Oh and know what I am talking about pm me please.
You did help I have a lady she will chew back to the bottom of her nail so tender to even buff for prep for acrylic I fear hurting her but u gave me hope so far hard gel has stayed on for 2 weeks at a time I figure 6 months from now pretty nails maybe possible
Thank you so much for making this video, I'm going to be starting with making nails, and my mom who's a nail biter has volunteered for me to practice on her as well, and I have really been looking for a video where nail tips where used on nail biters, thank you :D
In my teens I was a bad nail biter and the way I broke myself of it was a combo of 2 things-- 1. Why was I biting? Is it stress related or just habit? 2. Find a distraction each time you want to bite. For me, the biting was stress related but it had also become a habit. I identified the stressors and reduced what I could. 2. Distraction-Everytime I wanted to chomp on my nails I did the opposite-filed them/buffed them; cleaned my cuticles; massaged my hands and fingers; painted my nails...basically just general nail care. Back then (late 90's), I knew nothing about gel polish or acrylics and couldn't've afforded it anyhow. I enjoyed painting my nails, I liked how they looked and didn't like the taste of nail polish so all that together helped break me of the habit. I am OCD about having files around me now and when I don't have enhancements on I'm obsessive about filing the free edge so that I can reduce the temptation to chomp them everytime one of them is a lil 'snaggy'. I know this was long but hopefully it was helpful. :)
Thank you for this, my nails look halfway decent on regular nails with good beds but I still struggle with nail beds that are bitten short. This is so helpful!!
I appreciate this video as I’m a biter as well ! I struggle with them popping off no matter how well I prep or use gel/ acrylic or press ons😞I’d greatly appreciate any tips TIA 💕
Biting my nails has always been because of the way they feel. If they are jagged and I can feel them getting caught on clothes, in my hair, or just scratching me too roughly, I would go ham on them until I couldn't feel any roughness. I've told myself to stop and use a very smooth nail file to just smooth everything out and it helped tremendously. I also oil my hands all the time and keep them moisturized because even my fingers being rough, I'd bite the hell out of my fingers too. I still bite occasionally but it's stopped for the most part. Its definitely a mental thing.
I can relate!!! Iit’s the feeling for sure! I can do what you do but if I bite a little then I cant stop but if I can keep them SUPER short and smooth then I can usually go a few days without the urge to bite lol
Well thank you very much for your video I know it’s like super old but I am working on not being a biter and because I have social anxiety I tend to bite my nails because of that my diary and I wanna like be the girl that has like Q nails that I can put on my nails but because I bought them I feel like I can’t
I have a question... I'm a nail biter i try everyday to bite them but eventually once a habit it never stops... So there is this event coming, and i want to get my nails done, i bought press on nails... How do i apply them? Do i do it like how you apply them on normal nails or it's a bad idea?
I don't bite my nails and grown them naturally long but one nail broke so now it looks wierd. I added an extension but I used regular nail polish instead of the bead and the extension keeps falling off 😭 Any tips? 🥲
Ohhh yes. After *too many* years of wearing / doing nails I STILL pick the &$#@ out of my hands and nails when I’m not wearing them. You are not alone!
What tools are you using since I’ve never done my nails really in high school for prom idea if I get my nails like painted but that was about it so if you could totally tell me what tools you’re using for your nails that would be fantastic so I know what to look for because I really want to start getting fake nails or even tips or whatever they’re called to put on them to stop me from biting my nails
I’m a nail biter too! Never take your nails off! I file and fill mine every 4-5 days so I don’t pick at them and I can change the color. It’s all those little things that drive you crazy to chewing.
I'm not a nail biter (anymore) but my nails are so weak and they keep breaking right where the nail bed ends 😣 so now I put on nail tips but they kinda feel weird. Plus I don't know how to use acryl so I use gel over them 😪😪
I usually check all my swatches against my clients skin to see what matches best for them so honestly it’s all over the place!! Sometimes sugared almond is perfect for one person and then looks too light for another. My most picked one is probably pinkerbel cover
I always bite my nails like I just don’t even notice ;( I stopped for a while but I started when I was in my exam , I get bad anxiety and then I start biting my nails :((( my friends mom used to stab needles into her fingers when she would bite her nails and it stopped her from doing so , I asked my mom why she didn’t do that with me and she said shes not that harsh :(
Is it safe for the polygel to be in contact with the cracked area? This is my main concern, I’m afraid of putting polygel on after acrylic removal. It’s nothing too crazy but my nails are short and is a bit weak at the tips. So should I proceed?
I assume it's alright if it doesn't happen all the time. Polygel is fine for people with an acrylic allergy but using a chemical product might cause an allergic reaction if it always touches the skin
Anyone know where I can get a decent kit of this stuff? Like the glue, the tools and etc? Some normal places like Walmart, target or something? 🥺😭 I'd really like to know....
Hey, I love this tutorial me being a nail bitter myself. This tutorial was very helpful. Thank you. What monomer do you use or recommend to use with the glitterbels acrylic powders?
I used to bite my nails as a kid but I stopped when I got braces. And I was embarrassed because I went to a salon when I was a kid and the lady called my nails gross and nasty for biting them😕😢 Then I never went to a salon again after that 🤦♀️ sadly I now do my own nails they grown longer and health👏 Maybe one day I will go again idk Ps: I pick at my nails a bit now but stopping slowly
Awe no, that’s Bennys snort :( Benny was my Pomeranian who would sleep on my lap when I record voice overs he passed away almost year ago That make me cry listening to it 😭 I miss him so much
i always let me nails grow out before i get any nail tips or acrylics ..so that way the nail tech has something to work with, it costs more to build a nail that doesnt exist
Finally I wish other people would post videos on actual nails not all pretty already nails- most people’s nails aren’t that nice
I’ll try and do more transformations eventually

This one! I hate being talked about. I know they're short, but I still want them done 🤷🏿♀️
My nails are terrible I've tried the lot but gel is the only thing that helps

I appreciate this video so much! I’ve struggled with bitting my nails due to stress anxiety and my adhd. You’re so awesome!

Kudos to you. I’ve been a nail biter all my life. I still have a challenge to do my right hand. Been doing nails for 16 years now.
Will you please do a form video for bitten nails? Like how to fit/customize the form for a bitten nail?
I second this ✋🏼
Beautiful job! I love the baby boomer look. I wish I could learn it. You make it look so easy even with your non dominant hand!

I'm sooooo impressed! She did all of that using her non dominate hand??? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
It looks great! I'm about ready to start using tips instead of the duel forms. They can be such a hassle at times. Thank you Sarah. 💗💗💗
Your so brave for doing this video 😫 I bite mine to. Thank you for this ❤️
It's really nice to see a personal side of you ❤️ I would never have thought you were a nail biter.
I hide it well haha
