Yes under Suntory Global but still producing great tequila nothing has changed. My favorites in order Fortaleza, El Tessoro, Tequila Ocho and for a real treat Tears of Llorrona.
Love this brand. I have all of their expressions in my collection. The paradiso is one of my all time favorites. A true underrated brand is El Mexicano. They use the Mozart method for fermentation and their rested/aged expressions use French and American oak barrels.
The El Tesoro Repo stays at my #3 overall Tequilas. It is just so good, delicious and silky "smooth", can drink it like water! And at $50-$55 as well as widely available, it is a absolute GO TO Tequila!
The El Tesoro Paradiso is great and the Knob Creek finished is a really nice pour! I’m 63 and I picked up on the DBZ joke:) my local BevMo sells the ET Reposado for 52.00 bucks! Cheers
El Tesoro probably is not my favorite brand of tequila, but it is definitely a good one that I would not turn down. It’s additive-free, it’s made the traditional way, and Carlos Camarena is still in charge of production, despite the brand being owned by Beam-Suntory. It is worth noting that the Knob Creek-edition Mundial Añejo is aged in Rye whiskey barrels, not Bourbon. I haven’t tried it yet, but I am curious because Rye is much more peppery and spicy than Bourbon. It does have some bite to it, sometimes it has too much bite. But if you carry a little bit of that flavor into an Añejo Tequila it could add on a whole new meaning to what a tequila could be. What’s interesting about the Basil Hayden Mundial Reposado is that it’s rested in used Basil Hayden barrels that were toasted rather than charred, and used for making barrel finished whiskey. I also want to try the El Tesoro Paradiso Extra Añejo, which is aged in ex Cognac barrels, which would be very interesting. I really respect the fact that the quality of the El Tesoro brand has been maintained, despite being owned by a big spirits corporation. Unlike other popular brands like Don Julio or Herradura which are chock full of additives and not that good.
I agree El Tesoro is a great brand you don't hear much about, other brands get a lot of hype and el tesoro you just hear is good. The Paradiso is the best XA I've ever had, I finally came across a bottle and really wanted it when I found out it's aged in cognac barrels but it has to be the most balanced XA I have had
I'd have to agree, this distillery is probably my favorite, and I don't own a bottle of El Tesoro. I've been lucky enough to get older bottles of Ocho and the original Excellia Tequilas. Once those run out I'll be grabbing some El Tesoro.
I love Tequila, but never tried El Tesoro. I now have a bottle that I'm saving for New Year's Eve. Well, maybe finish it by New Year's Eve. I can't believe I bought it a week ago and I still haven't opened it. Because...an open bottle means daily usage til it's gone. Happy Holidays, everyone! And I bought a bottle of G4 a couple weeks ago, with the intention of saving it for the holidays. EHHHH! Never had it either, really really like it.
I'm going to have to look for the Laphraoig edition to taste. My route into tequila was from whiskey and one of the first tequilas I enjoyed was one called T1, which was also aged in scotch barrels. Sadly, it is no longer available to me locally. I think they might still be in business, but have no idea if they still age in scotch barrels.
Still one of my top Tequilas, and easy to get in my area. I must make my own recommendation for you to talk about though, if you haven’t already, try Arte Nom 1146. It’s tied with the Fortaleza Winter blend in the top spot on my Tequila Matchmaker profile, my current special occasion bottle.
What’s the retail prices of these bottles? If I see one of these bottles in the store I like to see how close retail is to their markup prices. Also determines if I ever spend a dollar in that store depending on their markups.
I love El Tesoro I always try to keep the three basic bottles in my home. My Blanco bottle has a white label but it looks like yours is blue. Have they changed the labels recently?
It's only underrated because their main expressions don't really stand out. they're just solid easy to drink sippers which do the job. They remind me a lot like siete leguas
I personally like El Tessoro, but I would reach for OCHO, Siete Lequas, or G4 in front of it. I find all three much smoother sippers and less "fumey"; perhaps the "distilled to proof" is the difference. Always learning something from this channel. Again...I will ALWAYS have a bottle of El Tessoro on the bar, it's that good, I just like the three others named better. NOTE: These are my $50 and under choices in BLANCO.
@@Dundertaker1 I always say drink what you like. I just finished my first bottle of G4, love it. When I bought my first bottle of El Tesoro last week, the cashier said he likes ET more than G4. I'm saving it for New Year's eve.
El Tesoro isn't the current "hot/in" thing, but it's continuously much better than whatever the current flavor of the month tequila is that's sending out free stuff or paying to get promoted. El Tesoro is delicious & one of the tequila GOATs. El Tesoro can even make Knob Creek taste good & that's saying something. Storywood Tequila from La Cofradia produces aged expressions aged in Speyside scotch casks. Not a fan of Clase Azul, but its Dia de los Muertos special edition this year also used scotch whisky casks for aging in addition to former American whiskey barrels.
I can appreciate this product but it is not for me. It’s definitely not underrated though it’s one of the most commonly recommended additive free tequilas probably because it has some of the widest distribution among additive free tequilas.
Just went through El Tesoro, Mijenta and Siete. I will restock El Tesoro...absolute silky and yummy. Love the story. Merry Christmas brother.
Sooo agree!

el tesoro, tequila ocho and tapatio are pure agave bombs, all amazing

I'm just about done with a bottle of El Tesoro Reposado... one of my favorites so far. Silky smooth just as you said.
Agree %1000
Super underrated but most versatile product at an excellent price point @Lui hits another grand slam
El Tesoro is one of my favs for sure. Lui, have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderfull new Year. I love your videos, keep them coming pls.
El Tesoro is among my favorites.
When into a small store and they had the blanco, repo, anejo for crazy low prices. Bought one of all three. Should have bought 2 of the anejo.
Please do more videos on rating Mezcals & Mezcal cocktails
YO that DBZ reference and demographic age range SMACKED lol - well done.
😂😂😂😂 thank you 🙏🏼
One of my favorite and the extra añejo is delicioso !!!!
The El Tesoro Paradiso is great and the Knob Creek finished is a really nice pour! I’m 63 and I picked up on the DBZ joke:) my local BevMo sells the ET Reposado for 52.00 bucks! Cheers
Glad you caught the DBZ reference. It's a classic! 😂
@ my youngest son (36) and I used to watch it all the time. Having a pour of El Tesoro as I’m watching videos tonight.
@nickp5511 cheers friend! I love that you guys watched it together. Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄
El tesoro, mi tequila favorito para la margarita 👌🏾

Please keep it quiet about el tesoro. I really enjoy it and its still easy to find. The more people find out the harder it will be for me to find.

That's exactly why I think it's underrated! I don't see enough love for it!
I'd have to agree, this distillery is probably my favorite, and I don't own a bottle of El Tesoro. I've been lucky enough to get older bottles of Ocho and the original Excellia Tequilas. Once those run out I'll be grabbing some El Tesoro.
I have an El Tesoro Reposado store pick that absolutely delicious! I enjoy Tequila Ocho, G4, and Forteleza as well! Merry Christmas and Cheers to all!
El Tesoro is at my local Costco store. And also Tequilla Ocho, Costco just started carrying them.
I love Tequila, but never tried El Tesoro. I now have a bottle that I'm saving for New Year's Eve. Well, maybe finish it by New Year's Eve. Nice review. This was my go to for a while but they keep jacking up the prices. May need to revisit and bite the bullet 🤷♂️
Preach my brother 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 !!! 😂
It's fantastic stuff and it's available everywhere. Snobs do not like stuff that is affordable and available. Merry Christmas Lui.

El Tesoro is great tequila!
I ran out of El Tesoro, but luckily I still have some Tequila Ocho!
Thanks
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I spotted the the Laphroiag Mundial at a Total Wine a few weeks ago, and oh man, I wish I could've picked it up, but at about $150 I just couldn't.

It’s so good olcc In Oregon raised the price of anjo 20% last year…….its basically price gouging tax by the state
I had two bottles of Paradisio. It was too good to put down.
I want to get their resposado to make tequila old fashions. I normally think old fashions are overrated.
El Tesoro got the best Blanco
All of these are available at my local Total Wine. 🙂
Solid, but reasonably rated
Guess I’m going back to the abc store
The 2 bourbon ones are $159 and $164

Underrated by who? Everyone online raves about El Tesoro...

Underrated arete artesanal suave repo or añejo
The word is out. Their prices have gone up.
Not underrated in he only place I have ever seen it, It was $102.00! I am sure it is great!
It’s not… it really is a step down from Ocho, G4 and Fortaleza
i like patron a lot and this guy wont talk about them its like he scared and its odd because i think its the best
Lol i am currently finishing editing a video on patron.
@@Lui_Fern oh cool thanks
Didn’t like it.
Ain’t even watched the video yet and the answer is YESSS🤌🏽
All i know is that the shit The Rock made, @teremana tequila is crap, absolutely crap
