❤ absolutely brilliant presentation. Thank u for taking the time to show its growth and progression ❤
I use celery for juices, cooking and salads.
@@americaneden3090You’re welcome. I’m glad it’s helpful. ❤❤
CAN IT BE GROWN INDOORS THROUGH THE WINTER? DON'T GET WHERE YOU SAY AND ENDLESS SUPPLY IF IT CAN'T BE GROWN IN THE WINTER. POSSIBLY YOU'RE IN A CLIMATE THAT STAYS WARM ALL YEAR? DO YOU DRY THE CELERY LEAVES? IF SO, HOW. ALSO THE STALKS ARE THIN, WHY? THANKS
I love juicing celery!!! I live in Arizona. I planted celery transplants about 2 weeks ago And tips on how you keep them so nice and green? I am a newbie to growing celery, but I sure hope I can get mine to look like yours.!!
This was one of the best gardening videos I have seen. I really liked the growing cycle updates as plants are grown to show what it should look like. Very well done!
Thank you, Richard. ❤️
Wow! I definitely will be growing celery! Ty for this video! I happened upon your video and have subscribed!
Like most things homegrown, I bet this taste 1000 times better than from the store. I will definitely start growing celery next spring.
It's far far more flavorful than store bought. I do have a hard time getting it sprouted, then a hard time getting it to size where it'll hold some peanutbutter. 😂
I grow celery and my neighbors couldn't believe how sweet it is. I use a plastic container with bottom cut out to "hold up" the celery and keeps it from laying down.
Yes, it does. 😊 Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
Home grown is the best, you know exactly what you eat.also food that you eat prepared at home is the best of All...
Thanks watching from Australia...
Dear Sylvia -- I use celery in 90% of the dishes I make. I think it must be my favorite vegetable -- I sneak it into everything I make, You are a star 🌟. I've had great difficulty growing it in the past, but you make it seem possible. Thanks a million for sharing!
If you haven't already, check out Gordon Ramsey's pickled celery recipe. I make it and it's deelish.....
Healthy stuff!!! Thank you for watching, Montero. ❤️ ❤️
Thank you God for putting this on my feed when i was wanting to get into gardening and i LOVE celery!!!
I use celery in my smoothies! It's a nutritious vegetable that adds a delicious kick without being overpowering. I didn't know celery could be reharvested so this video is very helpful. If it's not too late to plant in California I'm going to try it. Thanks!
Yes, they're great for smoothies too. Thank you for watching. ❤❤❤
I used to juice an organic head of it every morning as a detox until it got to be almost $5 a head for organic. Now I need to grow my own😍
I've been blending and straining it then adding blueberries 🫐 and 🍍 PINEAPPLE.
@@Catlady8I generally shove the ends of my vegetables in the dirt to regrow . I save all my seeds from vegetable and sow them.
@@jennyanimal9046 I’m going to try that with the celery this Spring. Thanks for the tip! How long does it typically take to grow a head of celery that way? Does it multiply from that one head or just produce the one?
I regrew a celery root from shop bought celery last winter.
I found it better to strip the outer stalks but leave the small inner stalks.
I think this helps to encourage the plant to root.
Great video, hope to watch more.
That works too. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ ❤️
THANK YOU for mentioning how it was affordable to get started because that is what's holding me back. When i haven't even gone down that isle in Dollar Tree because I never thought of that. You are so creative and resourceful and I feel hopeful that i could get started this year. This is so cool what you've done!!
You are welcome! Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
Thank you so very much!! I love celery! It is so nice to know that it can be grown so easily at home!
I like to just eat celery by itself as a snack - sometimes adding a sliver of peanut butter, tahini, or hummus down the middle of the stalk. Celery is also a must for me whenever I'm making soups or stews. Celery juice with a bit of fresh-squeezed lemon juice is wonderful as well.
Many Blessings to you! ✨🙏✨
You just gave me an idea.....celery with peanut butter. 😃 Thank you for sharing. ❤️ ❤️
@@sylviasandy You're very welcome. I find it to be quite a tasty snack. Enjoy!
I sometimes dry the leaves to make celery salt.
That's very healthy too. ❤️
I use celery, carrot, and onion, as a base for most soups. Then you have a marinade that might have celery, peppers, onions, etc. I adore using the leaves. They have such a nice herbal flavor that's so underrated and is very pleasant in soups, especially potato/lentil types
Thanks for this video! I thought I had to plant celery every season. This is a game changer!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
Love celery in soups. Also I use it as seasoning in many dishes. Thanks for the advice on when and how to plant.
Healthy stuff!!! Thank you for sharing. 😊 ❤️ ❤️
BEAUTIFUL beautiful brethren gardeners/farmer friends. May God Bless all the seeds you sow, 🙏🏿🙏🏽🙏🙏🏼❤️🔥🙌🏼🕊️
❤️ ❤️
Thank you. I'm growing like your first one. This is my first time. I'm hoping it turns out great. I use it for cooking, salad, and celery juice ❤ happy growing 😊
I really appreciate this video, great job Sylvia. I’ve tried and failed at planting celery multiple times, I’m going to try again, next spring, thanks to you.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
Thank you Sylvia for sharing this simple easy method of planting celery God bless you
SO HELPFUL! I was not harvesting the outer stems, waiting for the "supermarket" version. Harvested this way, there is so much more flavor - and and endless supply, thanks!
Yes! yes!! I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
I'm from New Orleans, and we use a lot of celery, along with onion and green Bell pepper, in making a variety of great meals, especially in making gumbo (that's the Swahili word for okra, did you know that?) I also use celery in many of my salads, and celery leaves, fresh or dried and powdered, in soups, etc. Thanks so much for the information on growing celery, Sylvia! You're a peach!
Healthy stuff. I combine the two words together "okra gumbo", not knowing they mean the same thing. 😃 😃 Thank you for the correction, Simon. ❤️ ❤️
My new favourite channel
Thank you. 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Good job on this video Sylvia! I love to put fresh celery in Chicken soup. But, it doesn't last very long when you buy it from the store before it starts to decay. So, this video is perfect for me!
I bet it tastes good in chicken soup. Healthy combo. 😃 Thank you for sharing, Viktor. ❤️ ❤️
Have tears of joy from your video here. As you played Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire a beautiful energy came to me legs & tingled to this song! Also using celery for juicing. The "Tango" variety of celery grows well in containers here in u.s. - Wisconsin. Sending you highest love!
Thank you, Colleen. I love the song. We used to sing it in the choir in my teenage years. I miss those days. Thank you for watching, Colleen. ❤️ ❤️
Love the hot nail trick to put holes in plastic containers. Tried a drill previously and it caused the bottoms to crack! I mostly use stalks and leave in soups. This is so helpful, I have seen a video that insisted that you have to put a collar thing on them to make them dark, but it looks unnecessary here! Thanks.
Easiest hole punching in plastic method I’ve found is to use a soldering iron…got mine at Harbor Freight for $4.00.
Yeah…using a hot nail is a good idea!
To blanch, or make them LIGHT?
I prefer them Organic. Thank you for sharing, Laura. ❤️ ❤️
@@kimalexander8378I agree! I use it for the pots and totes I plant in...so much easier and faster than drill or nail. But I never thought to look at Harbor Freight...I paid $11 at Wal-Mart!
Wow celery are very lush...love it..
Thank you for posting this. Celery is the one thing I have had no luck getting the seeds sprouted and growing much more than an inch tall, then they die, if they even sprout. These plants look lovely. I drink celery juice but we cook with it all the time and put it in salads too. When spring gets here I'm trying this.
I'm glad it was helpful. 😊 Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️
Dear Sylvia, thank you for sharing this very informative video.
I love use celery in almost all my dishes and salads .
It's very healthy. 😊 Thank you for sharing, Veronica. ❤️ ❤️
Hello again, Sylvia. I'm so glad I found your channel. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you, Elisabeth. ❤️ ❤️
Wowowow. I want to plant some celery!
It's pretty easy to grow. I think you should give it a try. 😊 Thank you for watching, Debbie. ❤❤
I bought a plant 5 years ago and put it in my garden bed today I have enough for even my neighbors it's reseeded itself over and over
As a vegan I use it in most soups salads, and wraps. We’ll most everything and it difficult to find good celery now days. I’m learning to grow more things in my garden. My soil isn’t much and needs building up. Sandy drain off swampland isn’t loamy at all. I like how you filled in the hole with the good stuff that’s doable.
Thanks for sharing. I had such a hard time growing celery. Your celery is so green and healthy looking too. I am going to try your suggestions. I like to put a spread on my celery such as cream cheese, humus, peanut butter, and Bitchin Sauce. Thanks.
Thank you Sandy for this video on how to plant celery and okra this helped me a lot and I always enjoy watching your videos .
You are so welcome, Ngozi. Thank you for watching. ❤️ ❤️

One of my favorite songs. 😊 Thank you for watching, Tom. ❤️ ❤️
Thanks for the video! I use celery for juicing. I drink it every morning as a tonic and its getting so expensive to buy in the store so I'm excited to see its very doable to grow in containers.
I want to plant Celery next week, and this video has been so helpful to me...am doing it for the first time
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching, Issa. ❤️ ❤️
@@sylviasandy welcome Sylvia and visit me and be my mentor plz
Lifelong gardener here and THAT is amazing!
Thank you, Jennifer. Glad to have you here. 😊 ❤️ ❤️
How can you over winter it? And do the stalks ever get as big as the ones you grt in the store? Great video.👍
Yes, the stalk gets bigger if you allow it to grow longer. You can put them in your garage under a grow light. Or you can put them in a green house. A grow light is like an improvised sunlight. Here's the one I use: amzn.to/3FKKylz
Thank you for watching, Michelle. ❤️ ❤️
Even though I do not plan to plant any celery whatsoever I just love your accent
Keep planting Lady 😊
Thank you, Gonzales. ❤️ ❤️
Celery juice (only organic!) to counter the hot hot heat of summer. It is the best to beat the heat.

Thank you. I’ve grown celery for the first time … and love it. I will include celery every year now.
I live in Columbia Shuswap BC Canada … it’s freezing overnight and my celery pops back up in the daylight sun.
…I better harvest it now 😅
Get it now. 😃 I harvested some of my tropical veggies today because it's almost freeze time. I don't want no surprises. 🤣 😂

You can make pots with fabric, even used feed bags, and cement. Search youtube, it is a craft.
One video shows grow bag and cement to make big planters. Cut drain holes before adding cement!

That's awesome, John. 👏 Do you juice or cook them? 😊
When grabbing something hot, you do NOT want to use a wet towel; while it may have worked in this situation as the metal was small and not holding much heat, a larger, hotter object will cause steam to form, which can be just as bad as touching directly.
Thank you young lady. Excellant video.
You're welcome.
Thank you for the great idea. Yep, I’m subscribed.
You're welcome, Todd. Thank you for the Sub. ❤️ ❤️
Thank you for the great video. I love celery and can't wait to try growing my own.
