It's been a heck of a month!
In this episode we catch up on the move to Utah, my first (huge) visit to Shepherd's Bush, and all the plans for Mira May and our Pollinator SAL! Oh- and I stitched a little bit too. ;)

Your enthusiastic talk of the move and living near the airport with it being "like Top Gun every day" reminded me of the days in my apartment living on Merritt Island, Florida. My apartment building would shake wirh the rocket lift-offs. Not being a morning person I had a lot of fun morning awakenings!! 🚀🌴

It’s so great that you still have a smile on your face - those moves are hard! We have actually had to travel to Utah quite a bit lately and one of the coolest places we found was the free museum at the Air Force base - they have the kindness volunteer docents. And actually, we were there and I noticed the adddress said Ogden so I was lucky to have a surprise trip to Shepard’s Bush and it truly is amazing! Your Garden Sampler is so great - those colors ❤. I loved seeing all of your Mira’s and am excited to see your progress!
Oh my dear girl, you've done more stitching than I have for weeks - my back decided to go out without permission and left my entire right side somewhat discombobulated. Not only have you stitched, beautifully as ever, but to do so in the midst of such a rapid move is well.... you deserve an award. Hugs to both you and Gracie 😊

What a great move for both of you! Glad to hear it went so well…and then, best reward ever, shopping with your sis at SB! Guess you want to stitch all the things since you couldn’t for so long. Maybe you just need a session to pull out all your WIPs and fondle them and welcome them to Utah…let them know they’re still loved and will be back in your hands shortly 😉

My husband and I packed up a few things after living in Kansas for 25 years and moved to Utah 7 years ago. He worked out a job transfer, off we went and never looked back! Didn’t know anybody, but it’s been the best thing we ever did! We ski all winter and hike the rest of the year! Almost every day I say to him, “Guess what? We live in Utah!” I still need to get to Shepherds Bush, I’m in the Provo/Orem area, so it’s a wee bit further for me! Which is probably a good thing!!! 😂
Oh, how blessed you are to be in Utah! It is the crafter’s Mecca, and it is so beautiful! Primrose Cottage and Shepherd’s Bush are there, I believe. Scrapbook and cardmaking places. Cricut is there. The mountains, some of the most gorgeous flowers, the Temple. Oh my, I am envious!
I'm so jealous that you're near Shepherd's Bush!!! I live in NW Montana and there is no LNS available....all online orders, for me!!! I'm so happy for your husband's new position and hope the future is bright and prosperous! Happy Mira May and all your fabulous stitching!

OMG!!! You have been busy! I am so excited for you both. Congratulations to your husband on his well-deserved new job! And the excitement of living in a new place too! I know it's hard leaving Seattle, but there is so much to do in Utah, around Layton - hiking, Great Lakes, 4 different seasons of weather/temperatures to enjoy, and you are near your sister AND Shepherds Bush!!!! I am so jealous. Give yourself a lot of time to settle in. Go explore a little each day or on weekends with your husband. Based on some of my move experiences, Layton will feel like home soon. And you have all of us to support you!

How fun, a new adventure. I was vacationing in UT a week ago. How fun would it have been to run onto you at Shepherds Bush. My husband spoiled me there. Another place we went was Pine Needles in Gardner Village. Quilt and cross stitch store. The whole village is wonderful. It is probably an hour south west of you. Worth the drive. The fabric for footprints is perfect. What a lovely stitch.

I see that it's been mentioned below that there is stitching every Saturday at Stitchery X-press. I'd recommend that for getting out and meeting some of the locals. It's a great, friendly group of stitchers. Some of them have known each other for years and the chatter is always delightful. Stitchery X-press is located west of the freeway out a long Antelope Drive. (540 W 1700 S, Clearfield.) Welcome to Utah!
I will definitely check it out- I heard that they have a sitting Saturday group too- so I hope to join in with that in the next couple of weeks- could be fun!

Wowza!! You are a "super mover!" You went from zero to 60 in less than 30 days!! You should be sooooo proud of yourself. And you still got quite a bit done with you stitching, let alone TWO visits to Shepards Bush! I'll be joining in the SAL and am all ready! Fingers crossed for a center start as I'm going with a fat 1/8 of 40 ct.

We drive from NC to Portland each year in October to see our adult offspring and I’m going to see if our path this year could include this adventure…maybe even a joyful short visit at Shepherd’s Bush?! Welcome here!! I live in Syracuse, to the west. When we moved up here 5 years ago we lived in a condo by the South Gate of Hill AFB and daily it would sound like the planes were going to hit the house! There are weekly stitch gatherings on Saturdays at Stitchery Xpress just on Antelope Dr. and there are good turnouts. You are definitely welcome. It’s always exciting to have more stitchers in the area and there are a lot of us! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about anything!! ❤❤❤❤
I've been in Ogden for several years. I had no idea there were stitch gatherings at Stitchery Xpress. That is great to know.

Welcome to Utah! Shepherds Bush is the best! I think you might also like Stitchery Xpress in Clearfield (just down the road from you). It’s a completely different experience, more “warehouse” vibes but I think you would love their fabric room. And, since you are a quilter, you may want to check out Sew n Save in Layton. Welcome to the neighborhood and thanks for sharing all your beautiful work!
I am up for both sals. Frosted pumpkin for me will be on a purple sparkle fabric but may have to change some of the colors

Congratulations on the move. Last fall we happen to be passing through Ogden and spent a couple nights there. I was so excited to go to Shepards Bush. I knew I would be overwhelmed with the selection as I very rarely get to go to an actual store filled with all the wonderful stitching goodies.
We arrived in Ogden on a Friday at 3 and I decided to go to Shepherds Bush to look around and just get a start on exploring. When I arrived at the store at 3:30 there was a note in the door announcing that they would be closing early that day and were closed all the next day 😢. I managed to sweep through the store and grab one pattern before they closed. I was so disappointed but I do love the pattern I managed to get.

What a whirwind you've had! Your Mira plans are wonderful.. you have some of my favorite pieces in your lineup. I'm doing Mira May as well; I'm actually hoping to finish two of my current WIPs. If I finish at least one, I'll be starting Petal Fairy and Bliss Fairy.. I'm stitching them together on a single piece of fabric so that their flowers look like a heart. I have a wonderful piece of lugana from Oak Crown Studios (FiberArtsAmy) just waiting for the first stitches! 🪡👠

My friend and I have been stitching Fairy Moon together for about a year now (we set monthly targets) - may have the stitching done in June! Then on to the beads. :) edit: there's also errata on the Mirabilia/Wichelt sites for floss and bead needs.
You should contact Jeannine McGowan to ask about the pollinators she included in her chart. She might have info. Love the idea.
Welcome to Utah! Pine Needle Designs is at Gardner Village in SLC. 7800 S. A fun place to shop and visit the village. It's a historic restored mill site. Not too far from Layton. Maybe you'll run into Deb and Keph (Snug Harbor Crafts) at Shepherd's Bush or out and about. They live in Farmington area.

It's kinda funny that I just came across your videos today. I watched the one where you were probably going to move. You said you were in Seattle. I love south of Olympia. Then I watched your video that said you moved to Utah and I thought wow. I lived in Utah. Then you said Layton....and my mouth made an O and made a swiching sound. I lived in Layton! Can you believe it!

I'm a newcomer to flosstube in general and to your site in particular! Your shout-out to Utah and Shepherd's Bush caught my eye since I've been shopping there since they opened. I'd love for my first SAL to be your Pollinators SAL. Could you please tell me how I can sign up for this so I don't miss out? I live half way between you and The Bush so I know well the sounds of our jets flying over. You will also want to become acquainted with Stitchery X-press which is another wonderful stitching shop in your area. It is open for shopping Tuesday through Saturday with stitching on Saturdays. You will also want to become acquainted with Jill and Amber, who have done all of the framing you've addmired so much at Shepherd's Bush. Their studio is just a couple of blocks south of Shepherd's Bush and is called Rensel Studio I believe. I'm looking forward to following you on flosstube!

Oh my gosh, Laura! About that same time my stitchy bestie and I drove from Seattle to Ogden for Stitch West Spring!! Too much Shepherds Bush (said no stitcher EVER) and meeting/making new friends! It was 20 degrees warmer than usual. The hotel we were in refused to turn the a/c because it snowed earlier in the week!! Other than that we had so much fun!!

I’m a bit of a geek with travel facts so… Seattle to Layton UT is approx 1298km, so I worked out that if you started at the bottom of New Zealand in a little town called Bluff and drove North to Picton at the top end of the South Island, that is about 918km. It’s then about 95km on the ferry. If you then drove from the ferry terminal to a town called Ohakune (google it, they have a giant carrot) that’s another 284km bringing your travel to 1297km. So you would get three quarters of the length of NZ pretty much for the same distance as you drove. Told you I was geeky LOL. Also you’re amazingly chipper for someone who just did all that! - take care, Nic x. PS reckon you can get the Lace Lady in if you refer to it as Maiden’s May LOL

While Frosted Pumpkin SALs reel you in, for me I have a hard time saying no to Tiny Modernist or Caterpillar Cross Stitch. Currently, Caterpillar lured me in with Enchanted Realms, which started with 3 dragons in the center.

I'm so happy for you and your husband! What a wonderful place to live and to have a close LNS is great for you. I enjoyed seeing your progress and hearing about Mira May. I've started In Praise of Pollinators on Earth Day but I'd like to join your SAL, hope that's ok. I think I'm going to have a Market May. My purchases from the Nashville Market will be started and added to my rotation of WIPs. It's always so much fun to get started on the designs we're excited about. Thank you! She has done pretty well, the first couple weeks she lived in high alert mode, but seems happy. Getting all of our things out of boxes helped a lot! Closer to my sister, she's just over an hour away! So nice. Thanks for watching!

I just came back from Utah. My best friend lives in Orem. So I went to visit her. We did some side trips while I was there for nine days and one of them was to Shepherd’s bush. My husband gave me $100 to spend to buy him the pattern, the kit and the material so and the embellishment pack For a stocking for him.
Congratulations on your husband promotion I know you’re going to like Utah. There is a bunch of Stiching groups that get together once a month I can give you a couple of names and you could contact them if you wanted to join their little Stiching group. Totally up to you let me know , I will be joining you on your Mira May SALbut not your other SAL unfortunately. I did a sal with the Utah stitchers starting in October but I couldn’t like put it down and not do the rest of it so I started it. I finished it and I don’t have to have it done till next October. But that’s the way I Stitch. One thing at a time.

She did alright- she stayed with my sister for the drama of it, and then was brought into the home once the boxes were in. It seems to have worked well. She is settling in.

Hi there! No stupid questions! I didn't know about it until a couple of years ago. In the Spring and Autumn there is a convention for cross stitch designers to sell new designs- it is only open to shops- but they will advertise ahead of time what the designers are selling and your can preorder. It's dangerous because it is always packed with beautiful things! :)
