I think as the classic car crowd gets older they become more appreciative of something that's easy to drive, quiet, and takes minimal maintenance instead of something that makes them feel like they're getting beat up the entire time they sit in it

I had the luxury of meeting these guys and sharing my inputs, from owning many of the wheels under the Mackin Industries Brands. They know I love Enkei. The RPF1 for me is easily my go-to wheel for any car. I never cared if everyone had them. They are affordable, they are quality, and always ready to ship. If I had a show car I would go for something else, but for track wheels, I can't complain about the price point, weight, quality, and easy access to replacing them. This episode was top-notch!!
rule and racing were absolutely meant to be stretched and pushed,. I remember one where there was a limit on the fuel tank capacity, and a team decided to run an excessively large and long length of fuel line. when you drain the tank its the same amount of fuel as the rules. The rules up to that point never specified how long fuel lines needed to be or the ID of them.. So basically the guy had way more fuel capacity and that turns into less fuel stints, time in the pits is not time spent on track lol. I want to say it was nascar but i am not 100% confident

FEA = Finite Element Analysis. As these gents said, a simulation of the forces acting on wheel to see how the wheel will react over time. This can be from actute damage like an impact, steady state operational loads, as well as long-term fatigue after many cycles (e.g., will your wheel start cracking/deforming after 50k miles?). The better the FEA, the more expensive, usually.

Been wrenching bout a decade n i'll jump into anything American, Japanese, Korean without a worry. Anything European (and Daimler-Chysler) first i'm crying and trying to get out of it. When that fails i'm losing my lunch to reading every step and watching any videos i can find. It still sucks to touch them.
just because two things are made in the same factory does not mean they are the same quality. the tooling might be the same, but the processes, materials, and wuality control can all be vastly fifferent
I agree Lexus is getting a little aggressive with their design language but I remember in the 2010s where they were trying so hard to get that "L" design language that it looked obtuse 😂. I think they figured it out and now they look way cooler to me.
