@@ckehung2450 Of course, just it's a bit more... structured of a sport then I guess. There's a good chance they could reach the 200 skip mark with a perfect skipping "stone," if not 300.
I have a major problem with this: The physicist said that he used a 93 mph pitch as his parameter for the projection, considering that the stone is a little bit heavier than a baseball. However, the angle is completely different. Submarine pitchers (basically underhand) only throw around 80-85 mph because of the mechanics necessary to do that, so I think that the number would probably be lower than 93.
One day in June of 1985 me and a friend were walking through a park. There was a stream to the left of us by which we were walking along through the park as we were heading to go up on some train tracks that crossed the stream at the end of the park. As my friend and I were walking along the stream we walked up upon a boy and girl sitting next to the steam . I noticed that there were pink sandals laying about 40 feet up ahead in the grass . One sandal was laying about 40 feet directly ahead of us while the other sandal was laying about 8 feet to the right of the first one . I also noticed that the boy was chucking stones at the sandal that laid directly ahead. I said to him " HERE , I'LL SHOW YOU HOW ITS DONE " I then looked down at the ground next to my right foot for a stone to throw , and INSTANTLY A STONE MATERIALIZED NEXT TO MY RIGHT FOOT ! The stone appeared to be of a smooth round disc shape about an inch or so in diameter and of a dark gray or black color. I really didn't take any time to examine it because the very moment i picked it up i felt an urgency to throw it , so immediately upon picking it up i threw it in the direction towards the sandal that was laying directly up ahead. At first it just took the typical curve of something being thrown , but then half way to the sandal the stone took a sudden 45 degree angle downward trajectory and headed straight towards the sandal. The stone struck the ground right at the heel of the sandal then went underneath it ! The stone then somehow began to barrel roll the sandal over and over and over to the right until the sandal was a few feet directly behind the other sandal ! The stone then somehow flipped the sandal about 8 feet up into air and towards the stream ! The stone then somehow took off zipping through the grass extremely fast and went underneath the second sandal . The stone then somehow flipped that sandal up into the air towards the stream , the stone also somehow went along with it ! It actually flipped it into the air at a greater velocity then the first one . That second sandal along with the stone caught up to the first sandal as it was half to the stream ! The second sandal hit the first one and they became entangled. The two sandals and the stone flew toward the stream then landed in the stream together. As my friend and me went to where they landed in the stream we noticed that somehow the sandals were laying perfectly next to each other with right foot sandal on the right and the left foot sandal on the left like they would normally be positioned. Unfortunately when i looked at the sandals in the stream i didn't think about the stone and walked away , so i don't know what became of the stone . My friend walked away scratching his head. There were many other people in the park near by that witnessed this happen.

Hey everyone, it’s called a joke
I actually feel so proud of myself if i skip a stone 2 times.
Oh my God you're so funny how do you do it?
God, now I know why I can only skip stones 89 times. I knew it wasn't cause I was bad!
U have 89 likes right now!!!
You have 189 likes now
Now 221
289 now
JanDeFietsenMake what
It's all about arm speed, spin rate and launch angle. Manufactured stones and sticky substances would easily push spin rate past 3k.
Why don't you give this man a "perfect disc" and see how often it would skip?
@Marcel Johe and the carbon fiber disk sinks at the end of the skip, making it very cost effective.
@Marcel Johe yeah I was wrong. Probably give it a motor too.
@@saumyaranjan9256 lmao cmon man don't be so cynical, carbon fiber is around $10 a pound, I think some PhD researchers can get the funding so we can witness the 100+ skip stone
Then, it won't be stone skipping anymore!!!
A.R T you. are. *W O K E.*
Of course his name is 'Steiner'...
@A Croissant Or just "rocks"
Steiner is stone in norwegian
His name is perfect... “stein” means Stone in german
Stone actually ... Hurr durr sry :'D
@Hduf Lolly Thats correct xD
KackBon3rdGen True (;
KackBon3rdGen 😂

Him: proud because he skipped a stone 88 times
Me: proud because I skipped a stone five times
Me who never did it

The people at the post office must have thought there were rocks in that box and they were right.
LOL "Geez, what are there rocks in this thing?" Ahahahahaha
He picks his own rocks
Hahhahahahaaaah😂😂
1 skip is mehh
2 skips are alright
3 skips are really good
Anyone else like me?
5 skips are godlike
Mj The Big Noob i did 5 a few times
I read your mehh as meth... i think i have a problem
Update: i skipped some more today and actually got 8 or 9 skips, but my rocks are very ugly so i can't get more...
My record is 14 and i feel special
10:35 I hope I can geek out like that one day.
Gustavo Garcia Madrigal I know right? I was giddy just watching his giddiness. I was imagining what a round of beers with him and his buddies would be like.
Gustavo Garcia Madrigal
4:21 and there you go folks, that’s 89
ok.
10:36 his inner joke came out
Now I've got a crush on his laugh
Why does he look like Ledger when laughing?
WTF, 88 skips is the world record?
I've never seen anyone do more than 6 and I can't even do 3.
its easy ,i bet u could get at least 7 if you really try
I got over 20. All you do is count every one of those little skips at the end
@@dronecinematic7262 Well, I can't even do 5, so 10+ is already impressive. 88 is just insane.
@@LAzii1117 you gotta train more. If you do you can do consistent 20s
I have tried alot now I am able to throw about 45 - 50 skipps
I didn’t even know it was possible to skip a stone 89 times
imagine coming up for a breath of air only to be met by a skidding stone
I hope they realize that the name of the ROCK-skipper, "Steiner", means "Rocks" in Norwegian...!
Steiner is a German name and means Stoner in English
@@japascr1533 both accurate of his character I believe
@@Xxassass1n021xX your comment made me smile. Thanks
@@japascr1533 I'm assuming you know, what stoner means in english?
@@japascr1533 or rocker
Mom: what are you watching
Me: Oh nothing it’s just 2 guys throwing a rock on a lake.
So much true👍
7:11 I'm more interested in the fluid dynamics of that man's hair..
I scrolled way down to find this comment
Sebastien Songchard Planet ok
Sebastien Songchard Planet i was like am i the only one that notices his hair
lol
I just came here to say that it being almost impossible to skip a rock 89 times sounds absolutely reasonable and shouldn't warrant a video
