My local hill is opening tomorrow and I'm super excited. Last year was my first year doing park and I was able to land a couple 540's. However, grabs were so hard for me. I've been watching a lot of your videos and they have been helping! hopefully, I'll be able to land some grabs and feel more comfortable this year.
If you want help this season I'd love to coach you in www.slopeacademy.com we have a Christmas sale on right now use the code "Christmas30" for 30% off!
When you ski in the park how are your skis so close together just looks so clean and smooth? When I try I just cross my skis lol 😅. 13 just got into park started learning to pop.
Great tips Bruce! The standing up straight is also an issue for just skiing down the mountain in general so makes complete sense for sending tricks, the trick I want to learn most is a backflip, I know I can do it just not sure where to start, and here on the east coast we have pretty firm conditions most of the time so it's not like you can just send it, I would love to see a progression from never tried a backflip to confident backflip on skis
Great input, to be honest I have no videos of those tricks because I haven't done them in years and didn't feel like spending a full day digging around for those clips!
@@BruceOldham if you don’t have any videos of those tricks, then maybe don’t make a video about them 🤷 For any disappointed beginners out there, check out “Stomp It” for some good videos on these tricks
i learnt how to ski around 1 year ago and i could do 180's, shiftys, grabs and other tricks. and as fast as i went on my first run this year i realised i forgot how ski :(
Thx, I suck but I can easily do 360, 540 and have landed a few 720's but I guess I never realized I've been spinning with my legs too straight cos 360 with any kind of grab has just felt impossible for me :D I only get to ski like once a year for a week and next year in like 2-3 months when I drive to Levi (a place in Lapland, Finland & one of the three like proper places to go if u want to hit some good parks and proper slopes, only a 11 hour drive from Espoo where I live, literally on the other side of our small country) imma try to do 360's and 540's with my knees closer to my chest and then try to add some grabs (:
@@porsas1904 joo true, only one of those which is close enough to visit more than a few times a month due to a lack of time and pure lazyness is Serena which is so damn expencive :D (junnuna ku porukat makso nii oli sinne kyl pari kertaa kausari ja siel oli kyl smuutti parkki) but yeah u're right with a little bit of effort it ain't bad I take what I said about one of three proper places.. Which ones do u ski bro? & how often
my problem with 180s is that i dont have any jumps where i go with smooth landings, its only a bunch of bumps. i keep falling off my attempted 180 jump because of the uneven landing. do you have any tips for that?

Local hills in Finland have pretty capable jumps to learn new tricks at. Talma, Serena, and Sveitsi for example.
