World records in wrestling are a funny thing. When you get right down to it, most of them don’t mean anything, because unlike regular sports, the results are pre-determined.
Fortunately for wrestling fans, there are a few records in pro wrestling that will likely never be matched. Some of them are great, some of them less-so, but all of them seem more or less destined to remain unbroken.

That’s the funniest things is that André the giant and Ric Flair‘s 25 world title those 2 records would be very hard to ever achieve.
It can be argued that one of Lou Thesz's NWA World title reigns was just as long as Bruno Sammartino's. Thesz won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in July 1948 and held it until March 1956. Of course, this was before Sammartino made his wrestling debut.
Fun fact: jerry lawyer may have never won a title in wwe but in the territory days he won 168 titles

i went through Flairs lineage, I could only find 22 world titles that actually could/would be counted
WWE only recognized Ric Flair as 16 time World Champion invalid & weird way when in reality he is around 24 time World Champion 😂
There is a video that did the math. Flair’s record is more like 35-40 World titles. He was truly a world champion who toured different promotions and won titles from them.

Ric Flair has won titles in the NWA, the AWA, Mid-Atlantic, WCW, WWE, and I think in Continental Championship Wrestling which makes him a Guinness World Record holder. No other wrestler has ever done what he's done and no one ever will.

Technically, Moolah lost the title multiple times between 1956 & 1984...it's just, that after she joined the WWF, that they decided to not recognize any of those reigns, though the NWA did.

For the world title reigns I'd have to lose on purpose just to drop the championship, or keep switching divisions or brands. It'd be time consuming but possible. IDK if universe would run for enough years to hold a title for 28 yrs but if I had an infinite lifespan and no responsibilities I'd attempt it (assuming universe can last for 30 yrs or longer)

Andre's streak was 15 years including every match, not just wrestlemania, and undertaker lost MULTIPLE matches inbetween his wm reign.
Funfact: (unless you count his summerslam win, which wasnt legit) undertaker has NEVER beat brock on ppv.

I still believe that Ric Flair only won sixteen world championships. He was given the title back, he didn't earn the title in any way shape or form. The other people won the titles but The controversies behind their wins were null and void and the title was immediately returned to Flair for him to continue the reign as the match results were reversed.

The Andre record isn't true, and Kane actually has 2812 matches or 2673 matches (only as Kane) unless we only count TV and ppv matches. Without house shows it be either 1040 or 1009 matches (only as Kane). Still a great video tho.
