    The guy coaching her here is Nigel Sears. He wanted Emma to face some faster balls and returns so had her hit with his son-in-law Andy Murray. He started at a more gentle speed and got faster as the session went on.

    I love how clean and strong her shots are and have you noticed how quiet she is. No grunts, no wasted energy.

    • @hd-xc2lz
      @hd-xc2lz 2 роки тому +10

      Grunts have a strategic purpose as taught by Bollettieri and other coaches, and that's to make it difficult for one's opponent to hear the sound of the ball coming off the face of one's racquet (slice sounds differs from flat stroke), i.e. it's really not about expelling energy.

    • @kiabtoomlauj6249
      @kiabtoomlauj6249 2 роки тому +4

      @@hd-xc2lz Yes, there are just exactly 3 reasons why some players make such loud noises and neither has to do with "expelling energy" (breathing issues) or other such utter rubbish:
      (1) a bad habit (which the sound maker refuses to stop, because making it is a sign he/she "could do whatever I want";
      (2) doing it on purpose to annoy the opponent (to psychologically, hopefully, give you advantage, as distraction) and/or
      (3) to mask the sounds made by racquet & ball.
      Any person who has played, or is playing, tennis KNOWS you don't have to make such loud grunting and borderline yelling noises to hit the ball extremely hard. Most of the hardest hitters, in fact, NEVER make any noise.
      Anyone who plays tennis ALSO KNOWS it is very annoying if your opponent keeps grunting and yelling like that throughout a match. I can't concentrate, because I KNOW my opponent is going to grunt in the next moment! After a while, sometimes, it becomes very irritating for me to play against such an inconsiderate person....
      Notice: NONE of these professionals want ANY ONE from the audience to cough, laugh, or talk. Why? Because it is VERY ANNOYING and it distracts; it also mask the sound makes by racquet-ball impact, so you can't judge whether your opponents hits hard or softly....
      SOUND travels much faster than the ball, so if you hear the sound of impact (ball against racquet, by your opponent), you are better prepared to deal with a ball coming your way...

    • @kaksoisdikki
      @kaksoisdikki 2 роки тому +7

      @@kiabtoomlauj6249 You got some points right, but the main thing is not to distract your opponents, it is breathing technique. You breath out when you serve or hit hard shot. The same reason javelin throwers scream like pigs when they throw javelin. I do that same basic technique aswell, but i barely make a sound. Most of my training partners make louder sound and you just get used to it more you play, i never get distracted from it.

      @@kiabtoomlauj6249 Well if you hear players panting like short of breath, they make noises to breath and to ease the discomfort they are feeling. It may depends on what the grunts sounded like.

    Emma will hopefully do well in next grand slams. She has video game power and precision imo. She needs mental focus as McEnroe rightly said. Some crumble under pressure like Osaka. I hope Raducanu doesn't and doesn't fade away. This game is not for weak minded who give excuses because then you lose.

    Training with Andy Murray is a very good tactic, he being male, is stronger, she will try harder to match him stroke for stroke, and that will make her stronger.

      The GB girls cycling trained on the track against the GB under 23 men. Clearly drives up the speed and strength. But only if the base is there. That the skill is there. Emma has it all. Great that she trains against the best. Andy’s power. Still awesome. He was the young star. But had to work quickly on his strength and stamina. He succeeded. He had the base and clearly the skill. Well done Andy for giving the time.

    Emma training and dealing with a man’s shot and power (Murray) helped her win the US Open. She’d become accustomed to dealing with faster balls with a lot more power and speed to where dealing with her opponents was like child’s play. Emma trained her senses on a higher difficulty level where all the woo men in the open were like child’s play. I’ve suggested this to every female professional::::: “accept getting your buttts kicked while training with a top ranked man”
    The ones who are humble enough to endure being outclassed and outmatched will gain a wealth of strength and fortitude in facing every opponent in any grand slam they enter. I’ve suggested that Serena Williams trained secretly in an indoor tennis 🎾 court with a top tier ATP male pro, that she may secure her 24th and 25th championship. But I don’t believe she heeded the advice and thereby didn’t win her 24th and 25th grand slam championship. This will be a new secret trend where top 20 women pros will start hiring menn in the top 100 to better deal with their female opponents with a lot more ease.
