  • Men have been more likely to die from Coronavirus, but there's fears that women have been hit harder by the social effects during the pandemic.
    Months in lockdown has created new problems for many women, but for the most marginalised, it has worsened the inequalities that already existed for them.

    I absolutely believe pre-existing issues have compounded during all of this. I would actual need someoneto draw my attention to some sort of new mitigating factor(s) to feel like it wouldn't during a time of crisis like this. Shelter-in-place has left a lot of people stuck in whatever situations they were in before and put a lot of insane new strains on them during this pandemic that have just made everything worse. Those who can still work and need to have had to risk themselves to this disease regularly and that brings a major psychological toll and risk of death. Those who can't work and need to work are just stuck at home while everything gets worse and worse. This is especially true given how constraining the means of curbing such things are, making your breathing more labored while everyone keeps their distance from you and touching and interacting with regular objects out in the world can be anxiety producing now. Those who disregard those problem risk themselves and the people around them as we become depressed, frustrated, agitated, sometimes even callous. And terrible things happen. And terrible things keep happening. Being isolated in so many places is at best giving people cabin fever as the days bleed together like some insane endless day, it stretches on and on. You can't just go out in public, you need a reason to be allowed outside, you have to cover your face, you can't just meet up with people unless you know them and that they are safe, and people just keep dying. But despite all of this people are trying to figure this out. They aren't just pretending nothing is wrong like that somehow helps. They are not ignoring new challenges. They are doing what they can. And that includes mentioning the problems they are facing during all of this. I am proud of them because the only way anything ever gets better is by noticing something that could be better and working on it. I know that's hard, but we need that. Yeah, taking some time to calm down and collect your thoughts is good but telling people not to talk, think, react, etc to the things going on in their lives is idiotic. We have to deal with this. We need to find a way to make things better when they are shit instead of sweeping it under the rug like some irresponsible child that can't do their fucking chores. So fuck off everyone who says acting like nothing is wrong is the answer here.

    The fact that you are taking issues that affect both genders like disabilities, eating disorders, anxiety and body image and sipinning them to fit your agenda is so scummy, you are making it sound like they only affect women, and in the process you show that you don't really care about disabled people, or people fighting with mental ilness, and as someone that battles with mental illness this fucking angers me.

    A nice thing is that it has stopped the right wing blah-blah about wearing hijabs (religious symbols law/policy in Québec government). Everyone has to wear a mask. It levels the field ironically.

    Help me understand though, why how do women struggle more? Why are numbers higher? I see single mothers, for example. I see people who are poorer being at a disadvantage because they do frontline work. I see nurses who are predominantly women could be struggling.

    • @fkl770
      @fkl770 3 роки тому +1

      Women struggle more because they make different decisions throughout life in general for example they will rather work in a job with lower pay because they will enjoy it more than more higher payed jobs while men in general enjoy higher payed jobs more. And in a workplace for a women they tend to be payed less than men this is because sometimes they go on pregnancy leave and spend less hrs working

    I feel bad giving this video a thumbs down. Each of these people need help, but I don't I don't know if I agree this is gender equality issues. The woman with the abusive husband is a domestic violence problem which is a problem that is amplified because of Corona. The other issues presented are also real issues, but they seem like issues that effect low income people rather than gender.

    • @daniels.os.
      @daniels.os. 3 роки тому +2

      How many women do you know that sexually and physically abuse their husbands? ... 1%? less than men? Well, Yeh, there goes your answer.

    • @thecloudstrief
      @thecloudstrief 3 роки тому +4

      @@daniels.os. There are a ton of things that are not "equal" for the genders that aren't described as gender equality issues. As I mentioned domestic violence is a real problem. And there are more women who are abusive to their husband's than you probably realize. Domestic violence is a serious issue that should never happen, but this video doesn't really dive in depth about why or how this is a gender equality issue.

    • @daniels.os.

      @@thecloudstrief I'll explain it to you... gender equality means not using physical force against women... as a man. Is about not taking advantage of your muscles in order to rape, punch and kill women. Got it?

    • @thecloudstrief
      @thecloudstrief 3 роки тому +3

      @@daniels.os. Woah dude, Calm your shit. Gender equality isn't just about domestic violence. Gender equality is about fixing systems in which the system gives unfair advantages to a group of individuals based on their gender. I am not for violence in any regard. So stop trying to "explain" what you honestly probably haven't given two thoughts too.

    • @daniels.os.

      @@thecloudstrief I'll explain that again to you... gender equality is not just about politics.. it's about psychology, sociology and anthropology. The moment you don't realize that fair, equal and balance treatment to each human being is regardless their gender or sex and begins accepting that mainly man overpowers women at home by force... and that gender inequality also most be addressed. So, calm your shit down and open your boundaries about what the video is trying to explain you.
