I was so confuse to choose which gimbal to buy, finally after watching this video I have decided to buy Hohem isteady V2. My favourite timelapes is hyperlapes. I have already ordered for it, just waiting for it.

I got my iSteady V2 for $99 this week so I could learn the craft before I spend a bigger amount on a gimbal for my Sony camera. I also have a new Pixel 6 arriving this weekend so my videos should look fantastic.

Thank you. No, the only time I have had the motor show is using Moments Mode - Inception. I just offset the phone a bit and problem gone.
During First two samples there was + sign but for Hyper lapse there is no + sign what is difference. You selected Time Lapse Menu on Right Bar for all three.
When you use the App without being connected to the gimbal the PLUS option disappears.
When I filmed it I did the Hyperlapse, then realized I forgot to do the explanation, so I just handheld the phone to explain it. It was not on the gimbal.
I whould like to see the same review with a Moza mx-2 .

Great video Michael but I have a question; for the motion timelapse the drop-down menu shows a + so locations can be entered but for the hyperlapse drop-down there is no +. You just selected Timelape for both but had different drop-downs. I can't get the drop-down with the + option. How do I get it?
The answer to it is easy. Look at the top left corner that shows your phone battery level and gimbal battery level. If you notice there is no gimbal battery level in the hyperlapse. I did not have the gimbal on, i was just showing how i simply used timelapse and walked. If the gimbal is not on then you will NOT see the + symbol to add points.
i noticed a green bar at the top of the smart motion lapse video. what's that about?
Hmm, never noticed that before. I think I may have accidentally moved the clip in the video editor and it is not fully filling the editor frame.
Can you do a hyperlapse while tracking an object(i.e. a building)?
yes, select the target to track, walk towards it and past it, the gimbal will keep moving to keep it in track. be careful, if large objects block the line of sight you can lose tracking.

These functions are all in the Apps, so yes the M6 can.

I am very very interested in buying this gimbal.. the only thing I'm wondering is how you think the long-term quality is.
in your opinion, ofc when given good care (no falling etc), does it seem like a gimbal that may break or malfunction within a few months or do you think this is an item that can accompany me for years to come?
Would it be comparable in quality with DJI brand?

Your welcome. I can NOT compare it to DJI as I do not own one.
It seems like a reasonable build quality, definitely not high end. With care it should last a good while. Then again anything that is taken care lasts longer :-) I have been using mine a fair bit and have had no issues yet. have you seen the other videos i did with the isteady V2?

I have had the Hohem isteady V2 since mid May 2021 and the Zhiyun smooth 4 since 2019.
Nice video. Is it possible to use it on live streaming with WhatsApp, Zoom, Teams, etc but this gimbal to stabilise the phone only? Using it to show my audience on the surrounding area while describing the area without focusing a person.
Thank you. Most gimbals you can turn on and stabilize the video. It doesn't care what is running on your phone. You just won't be able to fully control the gimbal.

I have never tried running a couple apps at the same time. I imagine you can. As I say the gimbal when turned on doesn't care if your phone is even turned on.
I have a samsung a12 is it a good phone for the v2 gimbal
The Samsung a12 weights 205gr and the isteady V2 can take up to 280gr so you should have no problems.
Is this gimbal compatible with the Google Pixel 3a XL?
The gimbal specs are:
Compatible Phones
100~280g (Weight)
11mm (Thickness)
55mm~90mm (Width)
so by that yes, BUT, you will have to check with them on the Google phone. I can't really answer as I use iphones.
Do you have to lock the focus and exposure on these lapses
No you do not have to, but be a ware that if anything comes in front of the lens the focus will shift. The exposure can also shift during filming as well. Sometimes the exposure shift looks cool.

das funktioniert halt nicht! jedes mal wenn, ich den start und das ende eingebe, startet zwar der gimbal aber der brummt nur und macht keine bewegung. die aufnahme geschiet aber halt ohne bewegung?
Hmm, does the gimbal work normally in all the other settings? You may have to contact Hohem as it maybe faulty.

das normallle setting geht. nimmt file als timelaps auf. nur bewegt sich nicht
@@pictureteam so everything works even the moments features, is it just the motion lapse that does not? Make sure you have the latest version of App and Firmware for gimbal. First time anyone has told me this. If everything works but motion lapse, i would feel it is a software issue as the gimbal works in other settings like inception, fantastic rotation etc.

@@pictureteam try deleting the App and reinstalling it. See if that helps.
can it do zoom and way points both in timelapse mode?
It can do up to 5 way points, but I could not get it to zoom.
@@MichaelCGrayPhotography do you know of any android compatible gimbals/apps that do zoom pan waypoints? I've googled so much...
zhiyun smooth 4 does, I imagine the new smooth 5 does, but I don't it one to know for sure.

Hi, can all of these be done in portrait mode?
Unfortunately Portrait mode is for photography not video.
Now if you are talking the phone in vertical position(portrait) vs landscape, then yes it works fine.

My Gimbal goes crazy when I try to use smart timelapse. I'm using the Google Pixel 3a XL.. please help me. Thanks for the tutorial
Make sure your phone is balanced before you start. Double check to make sure your phone works with the App and gimbal.
