- The Queen has visited Gorgie City Farm, in Edinburgh, a community-based initiative which first opened to the public in 1982.
Her majesty took a shine to the farm animals and received flowers from local children.

She's always had a special affinity with animals. I think it speaks to the fact that the Queen at her core is actually quite a simple person, who enjoys the simple things in life.

This is such a charming vid. We always see Her Majesty interacting with humans, and occasionally with horses and dogs, but for once we see her interacting with domestic farm animals, and she seems positively delighted! So nice to see her enjoying such engagement with nature in all its beautiful forms.

This seemed a bit odd to me. If the QUEEN was standing across a table from me, at the very least I would BOW my head to her and definitely NOT ignore her by continuing to talk to the person next to me. Either theses people were OVERLY awed or simply have NO MANNERS. Manners still matter.

That is Mary Anne Morrison, the Queen's lady-in-waiting. Morrison is also one of the Queen's closest friends and confidantes. (Even the Queen needs a wonderful girlfriend when she wants to go out for lunch and spend the afternoon shopping.) As lady-in-waiting, Morrison assists the Queen during her public engagements.

Very Cool, hi it is I the SkyWalker writing to comment about this video if I may, very cool: the Queen visited a farm in Scotland today, I like animals and I imagine if I were there accompanying the Queen I would have mentioned how fortunate the animals are...they are in no risk of being hunted by predator animals. I imagine I then would have mentioned to the Queen and groundskeeper "I am fond of predator animals because in my opinion it says a lot about a being that eats the life out of other beings". I imagine I then would have mentioned "knowing these farm animals are not hunter-killers we must value what THEY consider precious." I imagine I then would have mentioned to the Queen and the groundskeeper "that's probably why going to animal farms are so peaceful...what those animals value is special too." After that in my imagination the Queen and I would have followed a duck as it took its stroll down the walkway.

I do like the Queen and what she represents and I like the long history of the English Monarchy, though I can not say if I ever will be in the Queens company as we check out things in different places and get the opportunity to comment to those around it is nice to wish so, thank you again for accepting my imagination, you made my day.
