    • Aska (Co-op) -Best How...
What’s up UA-cam Zeridius here with some ASKA tips and Tricks
    1) Bark to fiber : Running low on fiber? Break down some bark. Chop a young fern, with the bark on the ground hold R to make fiber.
    2) How to cook and get fish : make a fishing rod and bait then fish for yourself. or you can make a dock and, have your villagers gather fish. You will need a fishing rod and bait for the villager also. Currently you can make bait from Mushrooms, berry and meat.
    a. Now you have a fish, all you have to do is cut it with a knife.
    3) Natural water collector: You can build a well. Building your base near a water source is a good idea. Using a natural water collector that looks like a flat stone .
    4) Don’t build on the beach: why not build on the beach it is so pretty! Once you start getting villagers the gathering buildings have an AOE for gathering. If you build just a little in the woods you wont waste your first AOE marker that comes with the building. If you go with tips number 3 you should be away from the beach just a little bit anyways.
    5) Z to Ping: Aska has a pretty cool feature that allows you to ping gatherable items. This ping can also be used in combat. When you Hit Z and send the ping, mobs with highlight red.
    6) Q to pin builds: A very awesome quality of life feature! When you are working on a building you can hit Q to have the mats required show up on the top left hand side of your screen. If your memory is as bad mine, this is awesome! To add icing on this cake of awesome you can pin more than one building at a time.
    7) Breaking down resources: Not everything you can break down to a smaller level but, there is a lot that you can. For example, chop down a young tree. Then you can break that down to long sticks, bark and sticks. Even further you can then break down the long stick into fire wood, stick and more bark. From tip 1 we learn bark is very! Useful since you can break it down to fiber.
    8) Eating from menu: Aska has a cool eating animations. It is slow though. If you play like me and are go go go. Just go into your bag and click the food rapidly. Much faster.
    9) Never go home empty: Now this one is survival colony builder 101. I still see people not doing this. Always fill your bag, if you don’t need it now you will later.
    10) Odins eye: Do not wait to build Odins Eye. It takes 10 minutes to call a villager. Get to work on this as soon as possible. The villagers can see everything you can’t and gather way faster than you can. The villagers also RUN! Not walk between tasks. Unlike others game where they move slower than a falling leaf.
    11) BONUS : River reed can be broke down into fiber! Once you gather the river reed, then break down to thatch then into fiber. This is a good early game supply of fiber.

Amongst your list of tips at No6 you mention pinning tabs, which I do agree is great especially if your memory is bad like mine, but more importantly is you can have upto 3 pinned at once and you can change their order anytime you like, the first pinned tab will ALWAYS be the primary builing that a villager assigned as a builder will build First, IF no buildings are pinned your Builder will do whatever was the first building that you placed, this allows you to priorotize specific buildings/upgrades

That is a good tip, how do you change the order though? Do you have to unpin them then repin or, is there a menu?

So I have watched 4 videos now and the one thing you don't seem to realize is, your condition affects how effective your skills are. You have 3 meters, Hunger, Thirst and Temprature. These are divided into 4 segments 76-100%, 51-75%, 26-50% and 15-25%, as soon as you hit 15% you will start to get warnings. The thing the game does NOT tell you is that the higher you maintian Hunger and Thirst the more effective your skills are, as long as your thirst and hunger are above 76% you have large bonuses, between 75% and 51% the bonus effectively halves then once you hit 50% you have no bonus and below 25% you have a negative status effect.
What this boils down too is that above 76% you cut down Trees/Break Rocks/Mine much faster and are less prone to injury. When in combat above 76% your melee/ranged attacks deal more dmg and are more accurate and your stamina recovers faster, IF you are using a shield and axe or sword you block quicker and the block is more effective.
A final thing to note you don't NEED to sleep like the villagers but you should consider doing so once every so often as as soon as a certain amount of time has passed sleeping you get a temporary bonus to EVERYTHING you do, this bonus is more effective and lasts longer based on the type of sleeping quarters and the type of bed
