    In regards to buying an expensive solar system. As long as there's time, you can shop around. I've been watching for deals for several years now and almost pulled the trigger a few times but kept holding out for a better deal. Finally not long ago someone bought a storage room at auction and when he got inside it was stacked floor to ceiling front to back with solar panels. He then proceeded to take them in 8 panels at a time to auction them off cause he wasn't interested. I bought 8 panels for myself for $60 and I've bought 16 panels for others and charged a finders fee and they ended up paying $75. That's less than $10 per panel. Just keep on looking and eventually you'll find a deal

    Hi from Puerto Rico love your channel. This hurricane has done so much damage here. There's no light or water many places don't know when it's going to be restored, it could take months, we had several gas stations reporting no gas. We started to prep after hurricane Maria . Got solar panels , water reserve, generator, stocking food , water, supplies. But in reality you are never prepared. We are a family of 5 and with a large water reserve that we are just using to take showers. There's little bit of water coming out the faucet. We collect rain water for the toilets and for the garden. Its a lot to do. These events makes you stronger, smarter and wiser.

    If you’re prepared for everyday types of scenarios if allows TIME to resupply, for a new normal to come back… they Key is TIME to prolong some state of normalcy until resupply or whatever is possible. Now for bigger more long term scenarios you just have to: 1) add supplies to extend this time. 2) maybe supplement or augment said supplies to cover more scenarios while again adding time.

    I definitely agree with you about the gas. My husband passed away in 2006. During those 2 to 4 years prior to him passing away I always make sure I had a minimum of a half a tank of fuel and try to keep it for as much as possible just in case I had to go in an emergency. I have not stopped that. I have two vehicles and it’s only one of me. And I make sure that my truck stays at 3/4 or above which is diesel little pricey but I’ll make sure I drive it once a week to make sure everything is working and orderly. Even though I’m elderly I guarantee I can hook up that fifth wheel that I gave to my son it’s in my garage. I will load it up with whatever we need and I will meet them to wherever we need to be. They use my truck and how to pull the trailer that I gave them because their four-wheel-drive is too tall and it’s a short bed. Mine is already set up for it so I’m ready. I prefer that we stay here on the premises and there within a half a mile of me so I look out for them and they look out for me even though I’m elderly I’m not an invalid and I definitely know how to use it you know what’s in the hands

    $30K for a chimney? I installed a wood stove last year and bought a $100 fresh air intake flue which brings in the cool fresh air around the flue and keeps the building materials around it safe. Took 1 1/2 hours to cut the ceiling and roof, install the flashing and get the fire going!

    There are ALSO small residential size wind turbine systems and if you have a dependable source or constant running water on your property like a size-able creek or river there are mini hydro turbine systems available as well. If I had the access I would absolutely choose hydro for my main source!

    Yeah, I prepped for Y2K, and funny you said, "am I crazy" for all this prepping as a few days ago I thought the same thing. I live in an apartment (pretty big one), and pretty much prepared in every area except for keeping out invaders so living in the city and crime exploding, I'm going to focus on securing my windows and doors. And I agree with you, knowing I won't be part of the people in a panic gives me peace of mind.....and knowing God's in control the best peace of all.

    In regards to water. There's a good way to knock out two birds with one stone.
    Problem number 1 in a grid down collapse is you're unable to run your sump pump to drain your basement.
    Problem number 2 is that you're unable to pump your own well water or depend on municipality to supply clean water
    My solution was to purchase a marine bilge pump and station it a few inches above my primary sump pump and hook it up to a battery that currently has a trickle maintainer attached that keeps it topped off in the event of a power outage. I have a solar panel and wiring hooked up in the event I'm without power for a long time I just maintain the battery with the panel. Currently it pumps outside just like my regular sump pump but with 3 minutes of detaching and attaching it would pump through an inline water filter before going into my gravity water filter that leads to my rain collection system.
    Both problems solved and I have a backup for when I lose power during a bad rainstorm or my pump fails as they all eventually will

    What I don’t like right now is the credit card people are sending our information to the government when we buy ammo or guns. Ammo pretty much needs to be done online because it’s too costly here local so it’s like how do we go about this where they can’t follow us?

    • @cryptofacts4u
      @cryptofacts4u Рік тому +1

      I feel you on that, every time I buy candy from a candy store the credit card companies are letting the government know about it. Every time I buy paper from an office store those credit card companies are letting them know that I'm at an office store
      It's crazy 🤣 for real though, I'm about to go use my credit card at home Depot and the credit card companies have a specific code for that kind of store for sale. Be honest it's kind of surprising that they don't have that for guns already. Americans buy more guns and gun accessories than any other country

      There are a few alternatives. First: you can purchase visa gift cards with “cash” and then use the gift cards for your online purchases. Secondly; you can travel around and purchase from different locations. The key really is using cash. I hope this helps a little! Remember the 4 P’s. Pray-Prep-Plan-Play

    • @FlyerPatty29

      I was thinking about the part of buying gift cards and using them online. I would like to stock up a little bit more on the 223’s. I just don’t feel like they’re supposed to know everything I purchase. I know I can buy it considerably cheaper online and I can’t here local. However I do pay cash or local when I do buy things and because I have a permit I still have to fill out the paperwork but they don’t call the FBI. That might be changing who knows. But I think I’m well-stocked in that area.

    • @Desert1776
      @Desert1776 Рік тому +2

      @@FlyerPatty29 If you call them, some places will take check or money order. Once they receive it, they'll send out your order. I find online ammo to be more expensive by the time shipping cost is factored in, but I may have more local places to get it than you.

    IMPORTANT POINT TO ADD: I have had experience in the defense field. I can tell you another concern about “zombie apocalypse” type scenarios of drug users; you can literally shoot a dozen rounds and they will still keep coming bc they’re so strung out on the illegal substance…. They don’t feel and or realize and they’ll literally just keep coming until they bleed out. Stay alert, stay safe, and remember knowledge is your most valuable tool!

    You always mention how during the great depression animals were almost wiped out, but those men knew how to hunt, they were raised hunting and slaughtering animals, they knew how to dress game. Today hinting associations say there are fewer hunters than ever and we actually need more. I've killed a deer, drug it out, field dressed it, quartered it, skinned it, even made a mount from the skull. I can tell you most people today can't, and in bad times who are you gonna take it to for processing. They may try, they may even get a kill, but then what? I think you give modern Americans too much credit and animals not enough. Hunting isn't easy, and when there's a lot of hunters it sure won't be. I know old timers who talk of never seeing game back then, but I also know most people in their 30s today aren't even going looking and trying to learn how.

      My husband (71 yrs old) hunts deer and hogs. We both know how to dress, quarter, and process the meat from these animals. My husband has tried, without success, to teach others how to do the same. He also questions what hunters will do if there are no processing plants to bring game to.

My next door neighbor is a preacher at a small church very old from the start of are little town awesome place to gather.
