I just bought Emily’s PDF off her and had a question, she answered me within 10 minutes. The PDF is so easy to understand and I love how there’s a visual (the UA-cam video) to go with it! Great job
EMILY!!! first off I just want to say THANK YOU for this tutorial!! As my first macrame project I tackled this swing and I am so impressed with how simple it was and how well it turned out! Everyone keeps asking me where I bought this swing! (HUGE compliment) anyways, I bought your pdf pattern and made this swing for my baby girl as part of her Easter present! Secondly, could you PLEASE make MORE macrame baby swing tutorials and patterns? They seem to be pretty nonexistent, sadly :( I’ve scoured the internet for patterns and tutorials and cannot find what I’m looking for! There are only a very small handful of macrame baby swing tutorials out there. I’d love to see a tutorial/pattern where the bottom is also macrame and not wood, and maybe more/different macrame techniques and patterns for the sides and back. As a beginner I don’t know a ton of ways to make things, so I would absolutely love more baby swings since I am obsessed and these are much more stylish than those ugly plastic baby swings 😅 Sincerely, Your newly addicted macrame follower Aka: Chandler :)
Loved this thankyou! We ended up routeing where bubs legs would go, even though we added a cushion... make sure you read instructions carefully as I did NOT! Used 6mm string... big mistake but it worked out... thank you Emily... my Daughter was thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! This is fabulous! I am 50 and obviously not having anymore kids, lol. But I do have three kids! Not sure I will have any grandkids anytime soon, but I want to make this so bad! Maybe I will make it and store it away. OR, put a plant in it! You are so amazing! Can’t wait to try it! Thank you!
I've been making these beautiful macrame baby swings for a couple of years now. Great gift! I already had the exact same PDF instructions. This pattern has been around of years and it's a fail-proof, beautiful and safe gift to give. Plus, it's pretty easy to make once you get the hang of the knots. Emily, I love your video and well-explained for beginners. Well done!
Thanks so much, the PDF instructions are actually created by me. I’m sure there are other similar ones out there though. Thanks for all your kind words 🥰
@@Ms.Reyes1986 Hi Abby! After making a few, I'd say 40 lbs max. It could probably handle more but I prefer to exercise caution. Macramé knots are very sturdy. I've added an additional safety feature around the seat and it looks amazing! Let me know if you want too see that extra finishing touche and I'll send you a picture.
Oh Emily!!! How adorable! Watching you make this brought back so many wonderful memories of when I made many macrame projects in the 70's! I am sure your precious little boy will get many hours of enjoyment in this swing!!! Beautiful job!❤
Your disclaimer at the beginning cracked me up because you couldn’t even say it with a straight face. How beautiful this swing is. I need someone to have a baby now lol
I made this baby swing and it turned out great. My two-year-old actually uses it almost every day. The six month old needs a blanket wrapped around her to prop her up but I’m sure she’ll love it even more as she gets a little bigger
It took me about three days working in between taking care of kids. So probably 3-4 hours each day. My husband did all the hole drilling and wood cutting for me
Por gentileza, você pode me ajudar com a lista de materiais? Medida dos cordões, mm. Gratidão 🙏 meu neto tem sete meses e eu gostaria de fazer pra ele. 😍😍😍
I have an 8 month old and now am wishing I had done this LAST year when I had time... and then when I saw your baby at the end I was like how the heck did she have the time! LOL. Looks so cute
Love this!! I have an imperfect slightly twisted piece of wood that I found on the shore last year that would be perfect for this project! Although I think I’m going to make this for my plants! If only my cat enjoyed swinging. :( 🐈
I love this baby swing. I am doing it for my granddaughter. But do you have an explanation for the first knot when you add the small cord at the back. I could not understant how to start that. Thanks in advance.
I am having a hard time with adding the string on the back of the swing and making a double half hitch. Where do you tie the extra string on? Is it the first group of longer knots and is it two or four strings that I tie it to?
Hi I am from London, and can not open any of the links with materials.. how long and thick should I purchase the macrame itself ? What kind Thank you so much
I'm working on this swing and I bought your pdf. But I can't tell how you attach the piece of cord at the back to do the double half hitch. Which cord do you attach it to and what kind of knot do you use? This is at the 13:45 mark that you begin this. Any help would be great.
Wow this is so beautiful and I can’t wait to make this! You made it look so easy!! QUICK QUESTION: Is your baby’s little tush happy on the swing? Just curious if a pillow or a little bit of a macrame lining at the base is needed? Thank you! This was an amazing DIY
I made the swing and I just put a blanket on the board and that is comfy enough for my toddler. The baby I wrapped in a blanket just to give her more support so she’s not wobbling around

I made on in the 70's it had wooden dowels on the
bottom instead of the wood square. Yours looks a lot easier to make and faster. I love it
That is absolutely adorable!!! So sweet - and your swing model is a very handsome wee lad! Well done!

Just finished mine in pink! Thank you so much. I think I’m going to add some over-sized beads in a few places.
