I have built the dummy load kit and was more than a little impressed because it does relative power measurement with only the lowest-price multimeter. I made that to test a different preassembled kit that I bought used. Figured it may come in handy with the QDX low bands. My daughter helped sort count and hand out parts as I needed to solder them. We had a blast. She was inspired to make a hobby of just building and and reselling them. (She was brand new to radio just passed her Technician class exam. Her birthday and the ARRL Field Day happened one after the other. Her birthday present last year were to assemble parts of a portable station to speak with an ISS astronaut. Competition didn't allow a response and the cross band antenna tired her more than expected. Still. So we assembled the QDX right after the dummy load kit right after the field day. Really nice start. You got credit as you rocked her world for a while. So maybe there are dads everywhere to thank you.

Watched last 30 minutes, shall be seeing the rest.. very informative.. built 3 of Qrp labs radio kits no problem, use them to great effect, receiver side is excellent very quiet, only use simple dipole, matched for best SWR using a nano VNA, as I used same during construction..

Excellent video and thanks for Hans for those excellent kits. I enjoyed making a QCX and a QCXmini and also I am enjoying using them. The question of using more than 12V is not about the output power but about using a 4 LiIon or LiPol in series, I think. 73 de YO3HJV

Hi Hans, Any chance you can come up with a development board that features an audio amplifier capable of driving an internal speaker mounted to the top case cover? That would be great!

Do the RSGB do anything for Amateurs that are suffering chronic interference, answer NO that's why I have ended my subscription. Yes men for the incompetent Ofcom goons
