Hawk and Animal all time favorite wrestlers and tag team. RIP Mike Hegstrand better known as Hawk 1957-2003 and Joe Laurinaitis better known as Animal 1960-2020. Followed them most of their career since summer of 1986.
Ole may have been a grouch but he understood professional wrestling. The Road Warriors debuted in Georgia in 1983. They were Pro Wrestling Illustrated tag team of the year as rookies.
sadly hes a grumpy old man these days; but I didn't knew he came up with the road warriors gimmick. greatest wrestling tag team ever. RIP hawk and animal
He's a national treasure? He made the biggest blunder in wrestling history......he told Mark Callaway no one would ever pay a dollar to watch him wrestle and let him leave go to WWF. The rest is history....the Undertaker is possibly the G.O.A.T
Grumpy Ole Anderson, may you rest in peace. This was a difficult interview but it's worth it to know more about the Road Warriors! You could tell he took pride in discovering Hegstrand.

Ole is EXACTLY right. I was watching Hawk and Animal since, I'd say, about '85. When "Iron Man" hit, you KNEW that whoever were the unlucky bastards who were facing them were about to experience legalized murder. Even BEHIND the scenes, a lot of these poor schmucks would see their names on the card against the Warriors, and they'd grab their bags and leave town. I can't stress how DOMINANT the Warriors were; we thought they were unbeatable. And we LOVED them. When they joined the WWF the first time, I DREADED how Vince was going to portray them. And I turned out to be right.

This video says everything about Ole Anderson -confused and bitter, and if he hasn't heard about, it doesn't exist. He made all that money by using other talent and bullying his way into positions.

Ole was grumpy but honest. Hard but fair. Made alot of wrestlers wealthy ! Road warriors especially!

Road Warriors Hawk and Animal vs Powers Of Pain Warlord and Barbarian my all time favorite feud 1988.
Ole struck gold with the Road Warriors
Mad Max was shown in 1979.
The Road Warrior was shown in 1981 (Sometimes called Mad Max 2)
Correct. I say that in the video.
The second movie was Mad Max 2 in all markets outside the USA, where it was called The Road Warrior.

THE best tag team. Road Warriors and then The Freebirds.

@BrianMoro-gz8de I get where you're coming from. The Shoulder pads were stupid. Before those they seemed more realistic.
They actually had a leather vest with spikes on them and leather forearm bands with spikes on them
I have to ask - how difficult was it to interview Ole? haha
How did you feel after this interview?
No one made money in the business according to Ole
He wanted to call them Animal and Hawk Tuah
Ole originally wanted them to be in full gimp costumes and to have them double team him in the dressing room.
They almost had a Pier 6 Brawl.
