I'd like to mention Sentry's Comparison video featuring Frag, Arc, Ember, and Repeater, where the performance of Arc12 is extremely similar to Frag12 (slightly better/worse depending on enemy HP). The main downside is range, which can be easily accounted for with a Scout
Arcs, without question. It’s crazy that you can get +60m on a close range weapon with just a blue range implant. Not to mention perpetual recharging and chain dmg. Frags, even with legendary range only get to 48m, and you’re limited to how many kills you can get before you’re stuck reloading. I’ve been rocked by plenty of players with frags though. That cone damage is nice - it’s hard to hit an eclipse with arcs when its ability is active…
My Blueprints odds are insane! I opened like 300 crates and didn't even got a single Blueprint of grav beams 10s, why I'm so unlucky 😢, I bought it for 2$(2 stars, before gear hub realized) and I however upgraded it to "5 stars Level 4!" I Have the sufficient A-coins but ain't getting my hands on any prints 😕
I had to get arc10 to progress to the next tier but honestly it's pretty underwhelming (and 12 probably isn't that much different). Ttk is just too long and mag empties very quickly. Arcs only work well with mechs where you can afford more exposure (aegis, guardian when crashed, and maybe eclipse). On redeemer and orion they're only effective in certain situations. Regarding frags, I was really suprised by the amount of damage they deal at point blank, but damage decreases very quickly with range. They might work well with eclipse since you can get very close. If you decide to pair them with killshot you'd get a budget version of ember nomad, which is super meta in higher tiers and great for countering campers. However another thing to keep in mind is that arc's longer range allows you to stay out of range of abilities and ember guns.

Aegis is a really good one. If you don’t have good scouts redeemer is nice too. Helix 10 is less favorable as a 10 but if you got the helix 6 or 8 already it makes sense to pickup. My vote goes to aegis though.
Hey, Is Vortex worth (saving acoins to spend on mechs and weapons such as Aegis and Arc 10) spending my acoins to amass points in the foreseeable near future Vortex event? Meaning, should I spend my acoins during a Vortex event to secure him? (I have 6200 acoins as of now) Is Vortex a good mech?
Fully maxed, Vortex can take 540k damage with ability activated, plus dealing damage in ability radius and your teammates take 50 percent less damage in radius. It's no brainer, get it
If you check the info button on the event, they do exchange for credits and acoins, but unfortunately we don’t know how much. Given that there are 50 items and it’s for an epic item though I wouldn’t think each token is worth much. Maybe like 50 acoins each but that’s entirely a guess. As of right now though, I don’t see any events attached to it so we don’t have free token for it.
Despite lower range, I think it is far better to upgrade dirt chep fragments. I mean, CHeap t get, they are rare, meaning thatt upgrading them will be easier for a while, and the best part about them, is that you can poke the enemy. Hopped out the cover for a quick shot and hopped back. Meanwhile our quite costly arc torrent requires fair amount of exposure. And the reload is longer on arcs as well, meaning that if you emptied the chamber, you are out for a while. 4-5 second reload on fragments brings it another W. However, what I would have done, if I were You. is that I will run a small test of 20 matches on your maxed out main. 10 with fragments and then 10 with arcs. Why ten, well it because despite getting into the same situations, the outcome is always different and with ten matches on presumably different maps, You will get an overall picture of how they play. Remebmer, general knowledge and current knowledge are different things. And difference is that with so called current knowledge, You feel how to use weapon correctly. Concludding. It is up to You, but my sight fell on fragment guns and I can't stop staring

On my main account, I have hardly touched them and I don’t really use arcs, but I did match those out before. So it would take some resources to do and I’m not sure I want to use all that. But it’s a good idea and maybe some thing I could try on the test server sometime

@@Douma_Kyoso you can probably focus on panther first then. I was relying on rare pilots and they just don’t cut it at my lvl. I also don’t want to over invest in those and max them either.

However, legendaries will always be better and if you are able to get it now and still feel like you make progress that is fine. Really either course of action isnt too bad so i wouldnt stress too much. But if you are able to wait on making purchases with acoins till it benefits you most (like an ECR) try to do so. :)
Longterm arc unless you want another cqc weapon such as embers in the endgame, frags need just like all the right implants , but deal good dmg when you get used to the shooting, still arc is easier to use on every map can get away with blue range and even the 10s can be used long time on many mechs
If you like to spend, sure you can get special offers. Eclipse is a great buy as getting him early means you start collecting blueprints earlier which is very helpful for a mech like him. He will start off weak fs though. Stuff I would consider for offers are top tier items you cant get on the Gear Hub yet like Eclipse, Nomad, Ember gun, and Storm Racks. Also, some high end stuff early is really helpful like Surge, Bastion, and EM Rifles. In terms of those weapons mentioned, I would focus on purchases of 8, 12, or 16 energy weapons for their long term benefits of maximizing builds.
@@bistek5219 it always depends on the offer and what your goals are. Offers are always going to be there. If they require you to stray too far from your goals, they have to be worth it. Legendary pilots arent too bad since they generally require other resources (marks) to upgrade so they dont take you off course of other upgrades unless you are buying them like I recently did with Stephania. Then they can be a decent acoin investment to get (even if its a good one). Its really just crunching the numbers and weighing your goals vs those offers.
Without a doubt go for arcs ..... giving you advice really feels like student advising his teacher....but as we know arcs are really versatile and easy to use.....frags have better damage potential but I would say arcs give a better side and back damage boost due to its chain effect. Also it's really difficult to run frags on tanks/most attackers ....also I think (really not sure) arcs kills faster than frags ...maybe because of its damage boost or maybe because of frags range 🤷🏻♂️. So I would suggest to go for arc 12.
You do make a good point. Arcs generally have more flexibility to them. Frag‘s tend to work specifically for fast or dash mechs from my experience. I will try to keep that in mind, depending on how I want to build this stuff.
@@mecharenazed I have run a dual arc 12 build on stalker on my old acc ...and am running a 6+10 build on stalker on my new acc ...and it is working fabulous tbh ...yeah it have suffered a bit specially in front of tanks like ages and eclipse but its atleast better than frags (I will be honest...I hate frags ...they are just not made for me💀). But yeah if the comparison was between ember guns and arcs ...I would have chosen embers by mile. But for now I think arcs are atleast better than frags .

Many dont so it usualy boils down to arcs of frags. I am leaning toward frags given my implant, but it will take specific usage to work. So ill have to consider that if i use it.
I havent upgraded mine as I am debating it too. I was surprised by their damage output in the last tier, but I assume my legendary dmg implant helped that. In this tier, most stuff is like 5 stars so I am overall behind with my equipment and pilot level right now since mine are new and still low on stars. But Ill get there! :)

Sigma was a guy in the Heat clan I believe and most of those guys have left the game. A few stuck around, but went to other clans since heat disbanded in MA. As for his video, its very possible his method doesnt work anymore. Plarium tries to alter its MM system at times to deal with people who cheat or exploit. I recommend avoiding exploit methods in general. They usually only last for time, require you to invest in ways that may not be good for natural progression, and dont really boost your overall skill as they typically only work by having you face weak opponents. Plus, its generally bad for the game - bad for the new player experience so they wont stick around, and bad for the devs as they are forced to focus on dealing with exploits rather than other key areas of development.

Well I am not a big fan of close range weapons I just hate to maintain range and if its cpc so that is really very hard to compete with real players (discs and ems supremacy) but still if you want to choose go for arcs as it have more range.....
yea arcs allows for flexibility fs. Id argue you sometimes have to cose the gap and get in close with certain players, but if you have other teammates built for that or that enjoy that more, then you can focus on what you enjoy more. Arcs do allow for more mid-range play if you prefer so its def better in that sense.
I dont really play tourney. Do you play in all events when you can? Do dailies and weeklies? Watch daily ads? thats the kinda stuff I do to keep progressing.
Ya I do all the dailys just not the tournaments. I am in the spot to where I haven't leveled up because of the tier in the hub. I was saving for disc 12 before update. 8 more stars and I'll be able to get disc 12. Ty for chatting with me. Keep up the good videos I appreciate them.

Are they both at the same level? And what kind of pilots implants do you run on them? It’s important to have an even comparison, which is not always easy to do for most.
@scape211 both had epic damage implant and rare range implant, but the arcs had been leveled more and the implants were one upgrade away from maxed and the frag implants were low levels so I guess it's not a fair comparison

If you have a legendary range implant for frags they are really good on eclipse for ffa, also you could then use frag eclipse and disk aegis which is better than voltaic rpg aegis and disk eclipse imo. Also if you have surge or nomad than no legendary range is needed and will be better than eclipse frags. Frags are higher dps and have way more damage potential than arcs.
Yea frag eclipse is something I am considering for the short term. I do think having a dash mech for frags will help me a ton. I dont have a good range implant, but I do have the legendary damage one. So thats why im considering it. I may end up getting killshot or something to help make it work for a time. Also agree on Aegis. I dont really have great options so someone will need to run VRPGs till I can get some good stuff. VRPGs barely hang on in my hangar right now even with the legendary damage implant....
There range is limiting, but depending on what you run them with, you can close the range. So dash mechs or something like vortex can close the distance and make good use them. But I have neither right now lol
i use frags on surge for a long time with the golden implants (play off) and they brake everything. I recomend to use them on a mech like killshot to get close fast and blast them. The reload is fast and 6 shots ready, with the arcs i found my self wating or dying because i calculate the % wrong jja
Yes this sounds good, but also likely requires a dash mech which I dont have right now. I may get killshot in this tier, but I am debating. Frags will of course go well with surge so I can understand that. Its mainly why im considering it for the long term even though it will have limited performance right now.
Frags on Guardian, I respect that loadout a lot ;-) But Arcs performs so much better on Guardian - face to face it's hard to deal with that bulid, it's losing only to tanks with embers. Ability cooldown implant is the key for Guardian and makes it very powerfull close quarters.
Yea its not something I normally run, but it made sense for 2v2s. Also, I only have arc6s right now and I have a legendary dmg implant for frags. And on top of that, it was during a frag event so its why I initially brought them out. It just got me thinking about frags vs arcs overall though.
Yea man, I have the same thoughts. Arcs are just easier to use and more flexible, but Frags are maybe even more exciting. Personally I use Arcs regularly, mostly with Guardian, but Frags I swap with Javs on Killshot for different game modes.
I have been thinking about both fs. Orion seems like it would be a solid choice for me. Helix as well in some fashion though I am not sure on my setup yet.

@@StephenWilsonDuraiA Yea the heavy mechs do see limited use. They can be helpful to hit higher energy early, but the most common I see long term are panther and guardian. Onyx and Gatecrasher are ok, but usually dont last in a top tier hangar. Orion is a pretty decent mech I sometimes see end game so its usually considered better. For arcs vs helix, they are both very useful and it depends on your playstyle and hangar tbh. Helix have kinda replaced mortars in end game so they have a decent space. Arcs have cycled out for top tier as most top end use ember guns. So in that sense I think helix have a longer lasting impact. But they also have really bad maps that make less effective or almost useless. Arcs dont have that issue as much especially after you have some decent range. Tough call but I hope that helps for you decision making a little.

I have never been a fan of arc torrents, they just seem kind of bland and uninteresting. by no means am i saying arc torrents are bad weapons they're just not my style.
Yea I can understand that. They have had a long run and are only recently starting to fall off at high end. They still remain quite flexible, but I like how frags have been competitive with limited application. Shows a fair degree of balance with these 2. Aesthetically, the frags do seem cooler overall and ive always liked the sound of the gun.

debatable imo. Arcs tend to be more flexible, frags more damaging. But beyond that its tricky and probably down to preference.
Probably get Orion so you have more 16 energy mechs, since upgrading the rank of mechs from previous tiers is not worth it

Edit: nvm I found the video. Yea I think he left the game. Sigma was a guy in the Heat clan I believe and most of those guys have left the game. A few stuck around, but went to other clans since heat disbanded in MA. As for his video, its very possible his method doesnt work anymore. Plarium tries to alter its MM system at times to deal with people who cheat or exploit. I recommend avoiding exploit methods in general. They usually only last for time, require you to invest in ways that may not be good for natural progression, and dont really boost your overall skill as they typically only work by having you face weak opponents. Plus, its generally bad for the game - bad for the new player experience so they wont stick around, and bad for the devs as they are forced to focus on dealing with exploits rather than other key areas of development.
You are right but as I don't play much of the mech arena game because of school life so I do it for tournament but can you please make a video about tdm tickets because I run low on it

Not yet. I may at some point, but my frag’s aren’t very leveled. And since they are not, they don’t feel very strong right now.

Go for arcs
Frags have better DPS, and arcs have more range. Basically just get arcs if the mech is slower and frags if you want to put it on a scout
Well I am not a big fan of close range weapons I just hate to maintain range and if its cpc so that is really very hard to compete with real players (discs and ems supremacy) but still if you want to choose go for arcs as it have more range.....
yea arcs allows for flexibility fs. Id argue you sometimes have to cose the gap and get in close with certain players, but if you have other teammates built for that or that enjoy that more, then you can focus on what you enjoy more. Arcs do allow for more mid-range play if you prefer so its def better in that sense.
How often you wining acion in tournaments? Been playing 6 months more then you and you just past me in damage. In this video.
I dont really play tourney. Do you play in all events when you can? Do dailies and weeklies? Watch daily ads? thats the kinda stuff I do to keep progressing.
Ya I do all the dailys just not the tournaments. I am in the spot to where I haven't leveled up because of the tier in the hub. I was saving for disc 12 before update. 8 more stars and I'll be able to get disc 12. Ty for chatting with me. Keep up the good videos I appreciate them.

Arc 10 + 6 is far better than 2 fragment gun 8s I have used both
Are they both at the same level? And what kind of pilots implants do you run on them? It’s important to have an even comparison, which is not always easy to do for most.
@scape211 both had epic damage implant and rare range implant, but the arcs had been leveled more and the implants were one upgrade away from maxed and the frag implants were low levels so I guess it's not a fair comparison
@@Fazbearingtonthe3rd yea it’s hard to get a fair comparison on these. I think the only place I will be able to do it is on the test server so I’ll try that at some point.
If you have a legendary range implant for frags they are really good on eclipse for ffa, also you could then use frag eclipse and disk aegis which is better than voltaic rpg aegis and disk eclipse imo. Also if you have surge or nomad than no legendary range is needed and will be better than eclipse frags. Frags are higher dps and have way more damage potential than arcs.
Yea frag eclipse is something I am considering for the short term. I do think having a dash mech for frags will help me a ton. I dont have a good range implant, but I do have the legendary damage one. So thats why im considering it. I may end up getting killshot or something to help make it work for a time.
Also agree on Aegis. I dont really have great options so someone will need to run VRPGs till I can get some good stuff. VRPGs barely hang on in my hangar right now even with the legendary damage implant....
Frags are pretty trash long term ngl.
Just because of their range
There range is limiting, but depending on what you run them with, you can close the range. So dash mechs or something like vortex can close the distance and make good use them. But I have neither right now lol
After the arc Nerf, it's best to run frags on surge or eclipse
i use frags on surge for a long time with the golden implants (play off) and they brake everything. I recomend to use them on a mech like killshot to get close fast and blast them. The reload is fast and 6 shots ready, with the arcs i found my self wating or dying because i calculate the % wrong jja
Yes this sounds good, but also likely requires a dash mech which I dont have right now. I may get killshot in this tier, but I am debating. Frags will of course go well with surge so I can understand that. Its mainly why im considering it for the long term even though it will have limited performance right now.
Frags on Guardian, I respect that loadout a lot ;-) But Arcs performs so much better on Guardian - face to face it's hard to deal with that bulid, it's losing only to tanks with embers. Ability cooldown implant is the key for Guardian and makes it very powerfull close quarters.
Yea its not something I normally run, but it made sense for 2v2s. Also, I only have arc6s right now and I have a legendary dmg implant for frags. And on top of that, it was during a frag event so its why I initially brought them out. It just got me thinking about frags vs arcs overall though.
Yea man, I have the same thoughts. Arcs are just easier to use and more flexible, but Frags are maybe even more exciting. Personally I use Arcs regularly, mostly with Guardian, but Frags I swap with Javs on Killshot for different game modes.
My Frags are weak (base 3 rank), but I still like them a lot, gonna up them but not so prior ;-)
Orion helix?
I have been thinking about both fs. Orion seems like it would be a solid choice for me. Helix as well in some fashion though I am not sure on my setup yet.
@@scape211 u can upgrade slowly and put to legendary mech at 24 energy but all are pretty terrible redox scorpious should I go for arc 12 or helix 12 orion is a solid mech
@@StephenWilsonDuraiA Yea the heavy mechs do see limited use. They can be helpful to hit higher energy early, but the most common I see long term are panther and guardian. Onyx and Gatecrasher are ok, but usually dont last in a top tier hangar. Orion is a pretty decent mech I sometimes see end game so its usually considered better.
For arcs vs helix, they are both very useful and it depends on your playstyle and hangar tbh. Helix have kinda replaced mortars in end game so they have a decent space. Arcs have cycled out for top tier as most top end use ember guns. So in that sense I think helix have a longer lasting impact. But they also have really bad maps that make less effective or almost useless. Arcs dont have that issue as much especially after you have some decent range.
Tough call but I hope that helps for you decision making a little.

The new mech disappointed me as mech arena told actually I asked will it have portal like ability similar to cheetah mines but they said thank you for sharing your ideas maybe future mech will be based on your thoughts

I have never been a fan of arc torrents, they just seem kind of bland and uninteresting. by no means am i saying arc torrents are bad weapons they're just not my style.
Yea I can understand that. They have had a long run and are only recently starting to fall off at high end. They still remain quite flexible, but I like how frags have been competitive with limited application. Shows a fair degree of balance with these 2. Aesthetically, the frags do seem cooler overall and ive always liked the sound of the gun.
