Amazing! Each piece clearly takes hours. If u need to keep clay at same dryness overnight because u have to work over several days is that possible? Do you just wrap in cling film?
Do you angle your cut slightly when cutting out lid of round and trapezoid lid? If it were cut straight up and down, I would think the lid could fall in.
That's awesome. I've had the idea of joining 2 bowls together to achieve this. Haven't tried it yet and hadn't heard of it either. So cool to see you demonstrate the concept. I was thinking about beveled edges before joining them so that could pinch edges together better. Having obviously cut one bowl to have an opening large enough to get hand into. Do you think this idea would work well? Thanks.
Hello, thanks for the suggestion. It sounds like it might be a good idea. I have found that it joins quite well without a bevel, but if you do try it out, let me know how it goes.
Hello. Thank you for your presentation. Did not see how you blended the bowls together on the inside of the ball. When did you do that? When you cut the hole for the top, it did not appear that the opening was large enough to get hand inside to blend and smooth the inner wall like you did inside the individual bowls. How hard was the clay set before you got to blending the inner center joint? How can one make sure the spout will not drizzle water down the side when pouring. So many water pictures have that problem.
Hi Josephine, I think you are talking about the long green tool? It's a platter tool by mudtools, here's the link mudtools.com/products/small-platter-rib?variant=40643097740

Hello, I didn't blend the inside seam. I make sure that it's blended well on the outside and I don't have an issue with the seam opening up. Regarding the spout, I experiment with shapes to see which ones drip. I'm sure there is a science to it, but I just do trial and error. Hope that helps
Love the idea of blowing a bit more air in. Thank you !
Amazing! Thank you so much for your thorough instructions to one of the most beautiful hand built pitchers that I have ever seen.
Thank you so much :)
Lovely video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Joining the two half spheres was especially helpful.
Hi Melanie, I'm glad it was helpful :)
I think I got this question in as video advanced to the pitcher video. Was asking about your fabulous handmade teapots.

Yes, for a teapot with a lid, I angle it in a bit to stop it falling in :)

Thanks for sharing your art with us. I’m just curious what types of clay you’re using and what cones they are.
Scarva earthstone extra smooth, fired to cone 6
Beautiful tutorial! What type of clay do you use?
Sorry for the slow reply! it's Scarva earthstone extra smooth ES10
Your work is lovely and you have a lot of patience! Can you tell me the name of the green tool and, if possible, a link to purchase it?
