When I worked in Arlington, VA, I had an employee who had been a Pentagon tour guide. He told us a story about how one day he was heading towards the personnel office on his own business. Suddenly, he looked up and didn't know where he was in the building. Nothing looked familiar. So he turned backwards, walked a few steps and then he knew exactly where he was and was able to continue on to where he was going. He just wasn't used to seeing things facing forward!
Ha what a neat story I guess walking backwards does give a different perspective.. I'm from NZ biggest building I've been on a tour group with was the beehive in Wellington, that building is amazing.. it sits on weight stabilizers as like anti earthquake measures.
Spent years working for the Defense Department and good lord I hated going to the Pentagon, so confusing, carter 1, floor 2, hall c, room 98, maybe, not sure, just leave 2 hours early for a meeting to take into account getting lost.
when i went there for my tour the 2 tour guides i had were so nice and they added humor (in a mature way) to there tour. omg, it literally msde we want to join the military. there is 5 starbucks there and when i heard that i cryed. probally one on each side lol. he said the arrows on the floor lead to the closest starbucks and if you look really closley you can see the starbuck logo. i totally fell for it only to see it leads to the closest exit which makes way more sense. they yell when they talk but there smile makes up for it. i wish i could remember there names but they were shouting them and they were long titles. makes me want to go on another tour. and i feel bad bc i never said thank you for there service :(

Chess armor, back armor, hard hat that covers the back of the neck & shield that blocks swords & bullets yet light weight & easily manuverable. The Germans during war war II were smart enough to use hard hats first, even though it didn't cover the back of the neck, it gave them an advantage untill the alliance caught on.
It surprisingly looks like a mall or a hospital... Not a fancy office building. Extremely underwhelming considering how much power the people working there have.
With todays technology and capability to work from home many offices in the Pentagon can work remotely. So much of it is basically a huge museum and money pit.
