i never mind that you don’t upload as frequently as other creators, your videos are worth the wait! love seeing the methodical way you walk us through your construction and design process, it’s oddly soothing in the same way as the soft buzz of a local cafe, if that makes sense. you’re great with the little details, really shows the craftsmanship :)
Thanks Tom! It really lightens the piece doesn’t it? I had to cut some of the screws down because they’re meant for 3/4” stock, but other than that it seemed perfect for the cabinet.
John, I have a thing for watches from wrist watches to pocket watches so for me, this build is completely spot on. I just love the overall look and the quality of the piece is excellent. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧. P.s. I actually have just started my woodworking journey and honestly it's down to watching a previous watch box build that you did a while back and seeing this version just encourages me more to have a go and keep at it nomatter what the outcome is. Thanks 👍
The shiplap back is definitely something that sets it apart. I love it. I was excited when I thought there was a prospect of being able to buy one of the jigs but I totally get that it wasn’t worth the time. Love the cabinet. Beautiful work as always. You do amazing work.
This is really beautiful work and a very nice purpose built design. I love the lock hardware and the shiplap back. Those sorts of details are just the perfect finishing touch. Thank you for sharing this.
I've been following you for a while now and your work is beautiful. I love your designs and your technique is great. (love the jigs). You use a great joint on your drawer fronts, though I wonder if some type of dovetail might kick it up a notch. Beautiful work.
Fantastic piece John! Knowing the amount of time & effort that goes into making a piece like that, I can really appreciate the skill set involved on this one! Happy Holidays to you & your family!
Another beautiful piece, John~! Don't know if you have any footage of your building the internals of the case, but I'd love to see a video from that content. Great build~!
Thanks Joe! Shortly after I introduced the original jig, I redesigned it and ended up with the one shown. I revised that one a bit further and cut one out of two tone HDPE. Milling all of the holes tot he right tolerances was tough. Getting the pins to be snug but not too tight was a challenge. I may do a video soon if I find the time.
Another great work! Very pleasing to watch. What size dowels do you use? And can you share where you bought the dowels? I always find my dowels are a little too big so the joints are too tight. Thanks!
Thank you Hao! I believe these were 1/4” x 1”. They may have been 1.5” though. I usually buy them on Amazon when I’m in a pinch. These are the ones I’ve purchased lately: amzn.to/3AEs6ZR
Doing well, thanks man. Schedule has changed a bit and I haven’t had much shop time or time to record anything. Hoping to maybe get a video or two done later this year. We’ll see!
@@parillaworks good man. Glad you’re doing well. I get that. I work and come home don’t have much time for anything else. Looking forward to some videos
I used to love my watches. I think I will again. I really want to build this. Thanks for the inspiration.

That is the coldest piece of work I have ever seen. Very inspiring!
Beautiful piece John! I love that it’s 5/8” thick instead of 3/4”. It gives it a much finer look.

great work again - i bet the customer was super happy with it

Really beautiful work, John! Fantastic looking cabinet! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Loved the video, where did you get the watch cushions?
Thanks! Not that this narrows it down, but they were provided by the client and purchased on Amazon.
Gorgeous, what finish did you use?
Thank you! Shellac.
Amazing work as per the usual!
This is going to sound weird, but I was thinking about you yesterday and how we hadn't seen a video in a while. What a nice surprise. Cheers!
Haha thank you Joshua! Ya it’s been a while. Some changes around here but hopefully I can find some time to get more stuff posted soon.
@@parillaworks no pressure at all. Don’t burn yourself out on our behalf. We’re in this for the long haul.
This is insanely awesome...👍
Thank you!
Love watching and learning. When did you switch to the new pin style jig? Will you do a video on it? Keep up the great work!

@@parillaworks you happy with your Shapko?
@@joeforster5503 Yup, it’s a great machine. Very capable. They just announced the Shapeoko 5 which I would jump all over if I was in the market.
@@parillaworks I am investigating my options. Thanks for your input!

Where do you get the watch pillows?
The client had them sent to me so I’m not 100% sure but I believe Amazon had them.
Hi man... one question...which wood is that? thanks and reegards.
The cabinet is made of walnut.
Another great work! Very pleasing to watch.

A trick to handle dowels that are tight is to microwave them and they will shrink. Do it in increments of 10-15 seconds.
@@meperson Thanks a lot! I will definitely try
Hey bud hope all is well Been quite a while since we have seen anything from ya.
