I got a good deal on a bottle of the Profondo recently. It's not an every day fragrance in my opinion, but it's definitely a fantastic special occasion scent.
What fragrances would you recommend for an active mid 60’s guy, that can be worn on all occasions, not too strong but scent will last without being overbearing. Something that people will like to smell when your around. It’s tough for us older guys cause we don’t want to seem like we’re trying to be young again, but we want compliments too on our cologne without trying too hard. Oh and a price point that is reasonable. Thanks for help

I've been using Thalium and 1 Million Royal. I get the most compliments on them, especially the Thalium. Everyone loves to smell me, and they say I smell fresh and clean. I'd like to find more colognes like that.
Thallium OG is a great fragrance. It has great longand it does get compliments when I wear it as well.
I do need to try Royal. I have 1 Million Parfum and it gets me a lot of compliments.

I almost bought Scent of Peace, but thankfully I got a sample of it first. It smelled great before I put it on. But the musk they use in it turned rotten on my skin. Now, whenever I smell that scent, it smells rotten because of the musk. Several other of their fragrances do this now too.
Is Yves Saint Laurent Y EdP good as well? I really liked the smell but I can't decide between it and Acqua Di Gio Profondo, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
YSL Myself isn't at any stores close to me so it would have to be a blind buy. I have tried both YSL Y and AdG Profondo.
Ysl y would get you more compliments as it’s REALLY loud but in 2023 everyone’s buying it so you probably gonna smell like a lot of other people. Pretty much the next sauvage
Dior Homme Sport smells about 85% the same as the new La collection Privee release New Look for a third of the price. It is so elegant for work too.

I use Bleu (EdT) as my signature everyday scent. Tried Creed Adventus once, I didn't like it. The original Aqua de Gio is way too sutil, maybe the Parfum will work better.
Don't overlook some classics like Carolina Herrera 212 for men, my former signature scent.
For summer I bought Acqua di Gio Parfum and D&G Light Blue Intense. I love both of them, but I will stick with Acqua di Gio.

I have always just worn a sports type anti-perspirant spray under my arms and across my body. Fairly generic smelling. 😂
Do you wear these fragrances with anti-perspirant or without? Should I use them with a non-scented antiperspirant, like a roll-on?

I always use a stick-deodorant. They are usually scented but only to cover up sweat. The way I see it is: deodorant is used to avoid bad smells while fragrances are a way to have pleasant scent bubbles

The Dylan Blue smells like a strong shower gel, nothing special about it honestly. I do like Acqua Di Gio Parfum, smells stronger than the Profumo, which was also a favorite of mine. I'm going to try this spring/summer, Acqua Di Gio Parfum, Prada l'homme, and Xerjoff Uden. Thanks for the video

Dior homme 2020, not sport is my pick, I didn't care for the aldehyde note in the top of sport. Issey Miyake l'eau d'issey regular or intense, givenchy gentlemen only (2013) are some dumb reaches for me lately. Sauvage EDP is my king of blue fragrances lately. Though when Afnan Turathi works it works amazingly. Creed fragrances I saw someone on youtube who claimed to work in one of their crappy botiques and said that most of them were so weak that when he drove somewhere he had to have the windows rolled up in his car or the air from his car would blow the fragrance off his skin. There's no need to do 10 or 20 sprays. If you need say 20 you've successfully purchased a weak fragrance. Especially after a year if it's still not performing.
and i really didn't care for acqua di gio profumo. I thought i was going to love it and there's a significant dent in my bottle but it's just boring and I wear it on days I give my other fragrances a break.
Eros is for teenagers. Terre d’Hermes would be a vastly superior suggestion for a versatile fragrance. Otherwise not a bad list aside from Dylan Blue. Perhaps the original Dior Eau Sauvage or Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza.
I promise you no one would say shit if an older man wore Eros or Dylan Blue

Honestly they ruin Dior Homme Sport with each iteration to the point that it doesn't even smell like Sport anymore. Sport was my daily drive for years, not anymore. They should've stick to the 2013 formula.
