Simply incredible - _Skullgrid_ is an amazing album - one of the best if not the best of 2007 - these guys are monsters live, video doesn't really do them justice - if they're still looking for a drummer, I hear Mike Portnoy is available . . .
Thanks, as of now we have no plans to release this entire show. They just changed drummers, not sure who the new guy is, but the band wants to wait on releasing this for now. We're gonna shoot them again a.s.a.p. with the new drummer and hopefully we'll put that out. Thanks again.
Ah yes, this is the best BTA vid on UA-cam I've seen yet! Thanks for the upload! I still am shocked sometimes how much metalheads DON'T get these guys and think they're too atonal. They were actually really ahead of their time for Prog Metal and even where some Math Rock is heading these days.
@clarkshapedbox Last December Weasel's website posted that it would probably be a year before BtA begins playing out together. It seems all three guys are busy with other projects as well. I'm interested to see what ww brings to the table. It should be very creative collaboration.
Sounds like moop from South Park XD except they make It work. It's definitely interesting to listen to, especially the second half. This is sort of where musical engineers (experimenting with music theory rather than any melody) and musicians (more focused on the music rather than the theory) collide, first and second half.
Is this from a DVD or an upcoming one? This is the best quality live footage of them i've ever seen and i've probably seen all of their other stuff. This is amazing.
@espyoshi So, if you don't like something it's garbage? That's a pretty narrow view of things. And as players, these guys are far from garbage. You may dislike the band, but are you going to deny that these are well versed, competent, and talented musicians?

Is the guitarist playing through a 4 watt battery powered solid state amp that's facing the wall with a blanket over top of it? It is one of the worst guitar tones I have ever heard. Especially considering the amount of gear they have crammed on that stage. I have a calculator that sounds better.
@freedomisasickness I happen to be a guitar player, and I can pretty much tell when a guitar player is just bullshitting, and this guy is bullshitting. I'm quite sure he is just hitting random notes at a high rate of speed when he solos and hes very sloppy, if you're going to play shit at least play it right

It's mostly atonal, so the scale is mostly chromatic. Except the second part that sounds mostly around Fm, and the outro that is in A.
