    Great upload.
    Remember this well.
16 years old at the time.
How I'd love to go back.

Poor old Graham. Looking at his career he was living a real life nightmare with England. Poor players, best players injured or out of form. Losing away to hostile crowds who knew England were weak and vulnerable. It's the only time he failed and it was the biggest failure of all. He looks completely dumbfounded and lost. Knowing what a gentleman and nice guy he was it is sad to watch.

Agreed. A thoroughly decent man and good club manager. I do think he was let down by some of his senior players too.

@@adamw2911 You realise that Lineker said at Euro 92 they simply did not have the quality of manpower available?

Lol seems like Ron Atkinson disagreed with his team selection though... Atkinson was being polite but it's clearly not the team he would have selected. He probably would have selected some of the players like Ince and pallister. But I actually agreed with Ron Atkinson at the time. I think there was better players. And I understand his frustration Aston villa finishing runners up that season with no first team international players...
And I think teams like Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday was doing well for a good few seasons, showing they had strong English players but yet not many players from those teams in the side.
Apart from Carlton Palmer which was a bit controversial.

@@kailashpatel1706 agree. I think Carlton Palmer was a great club player. But I don't think his style suited international football, in a similar way to Vinnie Jones. I agree about Andy Sinton and I also think Nigel Clough shouldn't have been there.
I don't understand the obsession with Nigel Clough...
I wouldn't have picked Les Ferdinand... Ferdinand was a powerful striker a bit like the Brazilian Hulk... Again effective at club level.
People forget Taylor refused to play Chris Waddle. Ruel Fox who was the fast tricky winger should have been playing. Ron Atkinson was right about Earl Barrett, David Hirst a centre forward who had everything and an all-round game.
I could keep going with all the footballers but I do believe there was better players he could have looked at.
And I think if he'd have given these players a chance they would have progressed.

I was a bit too young to remember this era, with Euro 96 being my first proper tournament
I'm not too sad to have missed it!

Fun fact: the two times England lost to the US, they wore their away kits (blue in the 1950 World Cup, and the red jersey in 1993). Since they wore the white shirts in the last two World Cup meetings, they ended in draw with the US.

Ian Wright walked in for two easy goals in the last 10 minutes and incomprehensibly missed them both. He had the entire goal and put both into the keeper's arms.

Watch the Dutch game, the ref was so bent. The ref's bias cost him his job and he never refereed an international again.

It was very embarrassing for the England National Football Team. It was personally the most disgraceful, embarrassment, hopeless, scandalous, shambolic, unfit, unprofessional, useless, very poor, very weak and very woke England National Football Team. Graham “Turnip” Taylor was one of the worst Managers of the England National Football Team who was totally unqualified for the job as Manager of the England National Football Team. To be very clearly honest, Graham “Turnip” Taylor should have never been the Manager of the England National Football Team. Graham “Turnip” Taylor is not the England Manager legend. Graham “Turnip” Taylor is going on my list of Top 5 Worst Managers of the England National Football Team. To be also honest, the England fans would not be chanting “Turnip Taylor” if Graham Taylor was never the Manager of the England National Football Team.
