So timely - I just finished assessing my scenes for my wip Jabberwocky's Curse. I think I'm going to use my giant sticky paper and put up on my wall so i can really see where I need to make the changes in the story.

I'd love to see the story of the channel and what made you decide to create a channel in the first place! Congrats on 40k!! I have only been here since last year but have probably binged hours of your content.

Thank you for the video! 🥰. I’m on my final editing for my NaNo book! Just got the proof in the mail and am preparing to run through it with a red pen. 😉. It’s called Redeemed, and will be published March 1st on Amazon! So excited!

🎉🎉🎉 FORTY THOUSAND....CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉 I remember the time when there were only 300+ of us here. I was able to binge-watch all your videos then and was done in about 3 days. I think anyone who attempts that now would need 3 months (at a rate of 8 hrs/day) to watch all your videos! I am so, so, SO HAPPY for you, Sarra. You deserve all this, and more! 💖

Hi Sarra! Thank you so much for this video. I 'won' NaNoWriMo a year ago in 2019 and literally haven't read my novel since I typed the last words that November 30th. I think it's been anxiety holding me back this past year. I'm determined to finally read through my story and start the editing process. I watched a lot of videos on how to edit a novel, but yours is the first that makes me feel excited instead of anxious or scared. 💕 Thank you for acknowledging the hard feelings that come with the process but also for the reminder that it will be ok and you will be happier on the other side. ☺

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I am so guilty of obsessing over the entire editing process that I’ve even tried to do it like Stephen King & edit as I go, only to end up feeling like ‘crap this isn’t good enough, who will ever want to read this?’ Small bite sized chunks. Genius. Thank you again!

Sarra, I can't thank you enough for sharing this! I'm doing some of these steps but struggling with others. Light bulbs were going off all over the place when I was thinking about how I'm editing and why I've stalled. Hugs and blessings! I appreciate you so much!

Yeah my nano book went waay off the rails. Changed the villain halfway through, changed the magic system, changed some of the characters. But I'm still feeling somewhat optimistic about the edit... thanks for the timely video.

My NaNo novel is a bit of both “unfinished” and “the plot got away from me”, mostly because the latter caused the former. I knew where I wanted to end up but my characters had no intention of following my plan. I had certain plot points happen three different times because I couldn’t decide. In December, I decided I liked the story enough to see it through so I went back to the drawing board and re-outlined. I’m about 8k into the new draft and am actually salvaging parts of my first draft! I think this time I’ll be able to see it to the end and (hopefully) publish it by the end of the year or early next year

I started editing my nano draft at the start of this month, just going from the beginning and it has been struggle city. This video is so helpful! I realize now that I'm still missing scenes and not fully clear on the direction and so going line by line I'm still a bit skewed and possibly changing too much. Thank you! I can't wait to take a fresh look at it now and give this process a try!

I would love a video on theme and how you work it alongside your character and plot development. I feel like I have pretty good structure, my characters are coming along, but when I write my rough draft, the theme I thought I was writing doesn't come out. So what do I do? What's wrong with my planning? Thanks so much!!

Last week I dug out my old Mac that has OS9. I found two rough draft manuscripts on it that I thought I lost. Alas! Apple has updated its word processing software from AppleWorks to Pages. So I can’t put them on my newer mac. I’ve been re-typing the old manuscripts into my newer mac. Almost done. This video will be so helpful when I start editing in about a week! Thanks so much for making these videos!

I do that scene/chapter outline as part of the draft, after I finished the chapter or scene, while it's still fresh in my mind. It goes into my novel journal...and I do add notes, things I need to look up, research or add. But the novel is still a mess...

@@HeartBreathings Thanks! I was able to restore twice in October, postpone the update for a max of 30 days, and the third time would not let me restore. The update also attacked my old computer that was running Windows 10.
