Saw the title and assumed I didn't need to watch it, because I thought pacing was one of those things I knew all about. Watched it and I did get enlightened with some good advice that I never took into consideration. It goes to show you never really do stop learning. Thank you! I love your videos!
I'd love to see a video on dividing up scenes versus chapters. I keep playing around with it and just when I think I've got it straight, I'm not sure I do. You're such a good communicator that I would love to see you present that subject ☺️
Hello "Heart Breathings", good evening! I greet you with a lot of pleasure in this new time. I liked your speech, good work! Have a good night, wherever you are! 🤗🙏💐 Greetings from Sonora, México 🇲🇽.
I just found your channel and I'm obsessed with your information and vibe! Thank you for all the tips ❤️ I'm writing a YA romance novel and trying not to dive head first into everything I want to happen
I have never really given a lot of thought to pacing when it came to writing... I always thought of it in a structured way when it comes to the plot and this video has been helpful to understand the way pacing is placed in books and how to write it into your book... Thank you for all this great information!!!
YES! I've been struggling with pacing for a long time. Your video gave me an "AH HA!" moment. Actually, it was more like, "holy crap! That makes so much sense!" I can't wait to try out a few of your tips on my next WIP! Thank you, Sarra!
I'm into nonfiction and I find great interest it. I really enjoyed watching your UA-cam videos and writing tips to become a better writer. You have great knowledge and experience as a writer. Thank you for sharing your educational UA-cam video. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share this.
My rough draft had major pacing issues and my CP is helping me with some more of the pacing. I add scenes sometimes because they sound good in my head, but don't do anything and my CP is good at pointing out which of those scenes I can cut and which if I combine or change-up could be really great for the novel. I started writing the second book in the series for Nanowrimo and the pacing is completely off in that one. I stopped writing it and I'm re-outlining now since I won't get beta reader/CP feedback for a couple of days. This was a very good video, and I liked the examples you gave.
I learned a ton from this and will be watching it over again. So much useful information. Would love a video with even more details about sequels and how/when to use them. Thanks so much!
So many wonderful tips! I actually had a few "a-ha" lightbulbs go off. After watching your video today, I went back and watched it again and took notes. Thank you, Sarra!
Thanks for this video. I've already watched it twice! I'm a little confused about the Voice, Tone, and Point of View. What are the differences? Maybe a video on those topics?
Congrats on the Storiad shout out, Sarra! So deserved! Thank you for this video on pacing, which is something I'm definitely struggling with in many of my romance novel scenes. Scene & Structure by Bickham is already in my tablet, due to a previous recommendation from you, so I'm grateful for the reminder to finally go read it!
Love this video! I’ve really been focusing on pacing in my outlining. I think it’s making my stories so much better. 2 hours of publish and thrive live followed by this amazing video! It’s a great day. lol
Such a great video - definitely one I would watch again, just to absorb all these insights. I love your self-publishing and indie author journey type videos, but I hope you will also make more writing craft videos, as this was awesome. I appreciate how thorough you are, with each subject you cover. 😃💝💖
I just want to say I love your books and your videos' and because of you I finally got up the courage to publish my first book! Black Kat of Midnight Storms the first book in the Black Kat Chronicles. I am also now working on book 2! You are such an amazing writer' and I just hope to be half as good as you one day!
So many great development and execution writing tips for free. Heart Breathings UA-cam channel and heartbreathings.com are absolutely the best value on the internet. You just trade a little time for immense knowledge. Great video Sarra and thanks again. ( And for you new to the channel little Evie isn't alone upstairs in her bouncy seat....great dad George is there too )
Timely video for me. Thank you so much for sharing. Future topics for me would be multiple POVs, and like Ketogenic Kim, I'm interested in scenes vs chapters. Sharing with my writer's group. What are the names of the other UA-cam sites you mentioned? Congratulations and Happy Valentine's Day!
I would love some advice for during editing, because I tend to overwrite in my drafts. I can see the scenes that don't add to the story and cut them out without too much issue. I can also see some scenes are useful, but only do one thing at a time for the story. How do I take those single-duty scenes and combine them so they pull double-duty and tighten my writing?
Hmmm I love rapid dialog. Thank you for the tips. I need this tips. Next can you give tips how to make consistence character? Thx Btw I have 3 sons (7, 3 and 4 mo) and I really want to make video like this but impossible to do. They really noisy. Ahahha
I've read books where literally I'm skimming the ENTIRE chapter but the last sentence is "Suddenly, a crash rang out" or something like that... Boom I keep reading haha
hello, I love watching your videos and maybe you have already covered this question but I was wondering since I am on a limited incomebut I write a lot and I can at least get a book out every month which platform should I advertise on Amazon or Facebook. so far as paying for ads.
I find that my first draft has faster spacing all throughout it, hopefully, my second draft will slow down when I show don't tell and place in scenery.
What writing tips would you like for me to cover next? Thanks for watching!!
Heart Breathings First person vs Third person. Suggestions for how to choose!
How do you know when to write more than one point of view?
Tips on writing short stories vs a novel!
Thanks for another great video Sarra, I would love to see a vid dedicated to just the proactive and reactive scene structure you touched on here.
Thank you for the invaluable info. Something that I'm curious about is using real world events/facts when writing fiction. Is this a good/bad idea?

Yes! I never know where to put chapter breaks. It's hard!
@@april_haruko I'm playing with that now ☺️☺️☺️

This was a great reminder about pacing, that's one thing I tend to forget often 😅.
Thanks for a great video with nice examples ♡

Ella and the haunted house 💜☺️
I'd love some videos on planning a series. I just don't think there's a lot out there even though most indies are doing series.
I find that my first draft has faster spacing all throughout it, hopefully, my second draft will slow down when I show don't tell and place in scenery.
@15:50 What book is this from???
Thank you ❤
