Hi Amanda and Jose, my husband is from Guatemala and really appreciated Jose's commentary in Spanish. I am native born San Francisco, Ca but father from Uruapan, Mx. I have been wanting us to retire to Lake Chapala, husband has family in Xalapa, Mx now, immigrated there after central american wars in '90s. We are looking at a couple of years from now, we have been thinking of racquet club due because we are looking for quiet, and gated community however the 3rd house in upper Ajijic caught our interest but I'm wondering about noise-dogs, fireworks etc.. My husband likes close amenities and even though I like racket club I do question if I can walk up and down that hill to get to San Juan Cosola. Is upper Ajijic noisy?
Raquet Club is a great gated community, and most of the homes have EXCELLENT views of the lake. But upper Ajijic has some really nice, quiet gated communities as well. Very interesting background you folks have, we look forward to meeting you!
