Wonderful footage. I visited the airfield as a teenager in the 1970s but did not see a flying display. Many years later I lived nearby in Crieff but the collection was closed by then. The Mosquito is gorgeous and displayed nicely. Thank you for posting.
I was 11 then. Loved that place. Was very lucky when 9 yrs old when shown around the Lancaster just after its arrival at the collection from Canada. Thank you Ken Hayward RIP.
More amazing footage this time from the long hot summer of 1976? The Strathallan Collection seems to have been a brave and ambitious venture and it’s a great shame that it no longer exists. The film of the Mosquito in flight is particularly valuable. At least some of the planes were saved and I’ve seen the Battle for example in the Royal Army Museum Brussels. Interesting memories from the participants! I liked the description of the flight to Benbecula by Rapide.
