    As an electrician it pained me to watch you pull out the old pipe before connecting it to the new pipe. The existing old material is typically a great tool to pull the new material into position. next time cut the head of a screw and twist one end into the old material and thread the new pipe onto the other side of the screw now they are spliced together pull the old material out and it will pull the new tube into position. I know hind site is 20/20 just commenting so others can lean from your difficulties. great video and cool product.

      I forgot to mention that I really love everything about the Recon if I go with a longer boat (crank 10) at some point it will be the Recon! Oh the motor lift looks like a good place for a lever. Great stats on the motor/battery all around super nice setup.

      I hope you choose a yack that if your wanting to stand sideways in it then your feet wont start to ache in agony after only a min or two becuz it's not flat and not enough room if your feet size are small then you might pull it off with say size 4 or 5 max speaking from having the radar one fifteen and feet size is 13 and the cockpits in the wilderness systems are too damn small on top of the hatch that sticks up and just is a bust That's what I really looked for before I made my big purchase but everyone isn't the same and it might bother you so good luck

    I've been a fan of the Wilderness Systems kayaks but I really wish they would put the rudder underneath like a lot of other manufacturers. I want to be able to use a motor to get places and pedal when I get there.

      I agree that “tucked up underneath” rudders are better than those that stow topside and deploy with a 270 degree swing.

    Thanks for the video, got a project on hooking up an Travel Ultralight Torqueedo 1100w to a Kaku Zulu base model without any factory steering/rudder/pedal system installed? looks like ill have to find an aftermarket foot pedal system to steer the ultralight torqeedo mounted on the stern.

      David Hernandez at St. Augustine Paddlesports in Florida can tell you how to do that install.

    Great Video, I just purchased this model . Any idea how to change the rudder control to the right side? Do i need to get more spectra line for it?

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  Рік тому

      I think that you just move the existing lever with that spectra to the other side and feed it through.

    New to kayaking and wondering why we are running the spectra line through a plastic tube ? Thanks

    • @TheLittleStuff

      Because an open hole in the hull with spectra cord going through lets in water.

    But can you have the pedal drive and the motor at the same time while on the water?

    Does it feel stable turning, seat looks pretty high, and I know it’s not adjustable height.

    Rather have remote control trolley power. Less headache & breakage worries of cords etc.etc.. Plus with quick release (remote trolley power) it makes for better security storage & faster setup & go & cleaner setup. Good video but that's not for me.

      I agree! Quick release means you can remove and transport on top of your vehicle. The built in setups require a full blown trailer, which also means a real boat ramp. Also, RC is HALF the price. I am a saltwater bay fisherman, so they don’t last forever for me and replacement/maintenance is a huge factor. Mo parts, Mo problems. Only cons are that it can be difficult to find an RC, short shaft, transom motor, and you have to manually lift and lower the motor... but a good compromise for me.

      @@thekochdieselskils5506 I agree with you on the above points. I'd argue that cords are quite easy to fix IF they do break and easy to identify if frayed/decayed. I wouldn't want to be miles out from launch and have batteries on a remote go or similar. That being said, that rudder is a bit of a pain it seems. Great to see a solution for a particular problem though! the double foot pedal/hand control is awesome!

      No worries. I stopped using any music. UA-cam takes away most of the income for the music creators, even if you have paid licensing fees to use it. So no more 🎶
