For everyday, generic purposes, both homemade and store-bought soaps are pretty even when it comes to their primary function of removing soil, i.e., the "soap" part is essentially the same. However, the big difference is in the additives. At home, you have the freedom to customize your soap blend with various moisturizers, fragrances, and exfoliants; however, this comes at a slightly higher cost. Either way, I recommend trying to make your own soap at least once! It's a fun learning experience, and the kids will love it!
