AHHH this feels so SO deja vu I was legit in the exact position exactly a year ago EEEKKKK. so so important that you're so transparent with all these feelings - they're so valid and I'm confident phd students watching this will feel less alone and will resonate so much with all your concerns. AND OMG CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW ACADEMICS KIND OF JUST FORGOT ABOUT COVID and how that affected all of our research progress!?!?!?? I have absolute faith in you Jessica ❤ so excited to follow along with you in your final year!!
Ahhh it’s good to know that it’s not just me feeling this way and that other PhD students feel the same in their final year! Thanks for sharing that 😊 covid has honestly screwed everything up 😅😅 wish we could get another degree alongside the PhD to show that we completed it during a pandemic ahahah. I should start a journal called "The Journal of Rubbish Results." Seriously though, it would be cool to read papers about experiments that went wrong, and reading how the researcher uncovered the errors in their setup.
Ahaha 🤣 apparently there is a journal where people have published rubbish results but I’m not sure what it’s called! I agree though, we could save so much time by knowing what others did so we don’t repeat it, fail and waste our time

Great advice thanks, I am starting my PhD in October. Little question, how did you choose which journal to submit your paper to? Good luck with that and take it easy 😉
You’re welcome! I’m super excited for you to start your PhD journey 🤩 we went for a journal which is in the top quartile within that research field. It has a good impact factor also. A lot of the papers we read are from that journal so it is a popular one too!
