This is a fantastic explanation of signal flow. Really helped me understand how sound flows through the application. Thanks!

thanks sadowick. your videos are very dense with information, which is a struggle for me sometimes, yet much appreciated in this era of flashiness without substance and little bits and pieces of knowledge scattered in so wide an area that collecting it is a chore. I'm hoping this series will give me more confidence to make the worlds in my mind come alive. It's also nice to be able to comment here as I go :D

I feel the same as you and I also hope this series will help with that, so far I like how detailed and on different levels he explains things. It's easy to see how knowledgable he is about it. I know this reply is 3 years after you commented, so maybe you won't answer, but how did you like the whole full series and how'd it help overall after 3 years.

I have never come across a signal flow tutorial like this. Thank you for creating a sharing this. In these uncertain time I think one of the best way is to download Live 10 and take three months trial and work through your series.

I'm just getting into ableton live and I have to say that the depth of your content doubles as a foundation for music production beyond the software itself. Bravo!

Hey i am newer to producing and was recommended to your videos. They have been very informative and was wondering. Is some of what this video going over also considered side chaining or am I not 100% understanding what side chaining is?

Geese what computer are you using! It must be a beast to be able to screen record, use ableton, use whatever drawing app you're using, and use a mic! WOW

But I don’t understand why when I pull down the track fader it doesn’t affect the device channel input meter?

So how do I adjust the INPUT GAIN on a track? This app is not friendly for audio engineers.

First, great job. If I were to offer a constructive criticism though, I would say that sometimes watching the tutorials can be a little tedious, like watching someone explain how an engine works when all you really want to know is how to drive. I've found the most value from watching you simply do the projects, making a song. In the course of doing that, you touch on a lot of the tools I didn't know how to use or in what context to use them. Still and all, I'm glad you are doing these for the beginner.

Everyone learns at different paces / starting points. If the tutorial is too 'slow' for you that indicates you are at a higher / more advance level than it is being aimed at but others may find it pitched just right for them. Constructive criticism is great but also be understanding of the level that the video is being pitched at. I knew most of this video's content but there was 5 minutes which explained something new.

Your videos are EXCELLENT... Just one point... You do not need to do all this graphics.. By drawing an arrow thorough the real channels in enough and will be clearer to us..

Hi Sadowick, I just finished Tutorial 04, and this may sound stupid but does this series teach to create music eventually? Everything right now seems very theoretical and I don't mind slow start as long as there's rewards down the line. Practical skills and not just theoretical knowledge. And while I completely understand the important of precise knowledge, I wanted to clear my doubt with you.
