Its been so long since I last heard this... Hearing it now, I imagine this being played while a montage of slow motion footage is being played of cars going through Eau Rouge.... Bottoming out at the bottom, as they cross the river, and then seeing the cars squirming at Radillon...
Dear Project C.A.R.S. You may have the same menu soundtrack as GTR2.. But you'll never become the same legend.. After all, EA made most of you.. Except the best racing theme in the world!
I remember playing this game when I was a kid (maybe it was 2008 or something) I ended up getting a demo version of this game with some other games in a CD-ROM disc which I had bought from a local computer store. It was only a demo but I loved it so much. Used to drive the same track, same car again and again. Now when I think about those days, it feels like a lifetime ago.
The thing that people need to realize is that SMS didn't steal this track for their games. Stephen Baysted was the person who composed the track to begin with. Thus it is his own track and creation. This track from the soundtrack is his baby and he should be able to take it to where ever he wants it to go. So let it go, guys.
I started off thinking Project C.A.R.S. was a Shift 3. Turns out pCARS has more in common with SMS's old racing classic GTR and as such should be called GTR 3. Seriously. pCARS has the developers who made the legendary GTR series, it has old Stig (Ben Collins) as a handling consultant, it has loads of racing-fans helping giving feedback (who themselves have backgrounds playing everything from GTR, Race 07, iRacing and RFactor). If anyone is going to pick up the torch after GTR 2, then pCARS is the game to do it.

its a funny one ! GT4 proclamed the real driving simulator came about the same year of GTR + GTR2, it's a catch phrase to say, ok now get into the real deal. and it obliterated GT4 in terms of realism, physics, race realism (due to much more avaliable ressources for modern PCs). while GT4 is a cult classic for sure, GTR2 was so ahead of it's time among his counterparts, GT legends, rfactor courtesy of ISImotor, gMotor2 physics/engine.
This music shows project cars sereis is genuinely the successor of GTR series. The track gets used again and again. Hopefully GT Revival will still include this track.

this song is amazing, but the game is not that great...
GTR2 was one of the best racing games available when it was released in 2006.
And even still it is a bloody fantastic sim!
