With AI on the rise, an unstable economy, corporate greed is out of control, office workers are laid-off in a driverless car company where money and technology are the bottom-line. Poking fun at office politics and nasty CEO's, DRIVERLESS is a road movie featuring quirky actors and snarky one-liners.
Inside the imagined corporate world, ran by evil boss Will Roberts (Oppenheimer), Stephen Foster (That's Opportunity Knocking) lands a job amidst lay-offs by human resources (Cat Elrod) with no heart and a non-existent training package. AI can do the job of 23 workers.
He and the IT man, Navnoor Kahlon, must navigate busy phone-lines with rude, impatient driverless car customers starting with CEO bitch Renee Laramore.
AI runs the driverless cars with a simple computer hack the IT guys has devised. The only interest the boss has is the profits of the company and the bottom line and getting out of work.
The boss does report to an arrogant, snotty millionaire Steven Morana (Beast Within).
Two midlevel executives Donald Burns and Daniel Luna take a joy ride in a driverless car each one bantering about employee relationships and the vast difference in wages. A quaker tries to convince a redneck (BOTH played by multi-faced Stephen Foster) to join his church which has turned into a multi-level money-making scheme.
This is the backdrop to a screwball-comedy ala IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD. The first road movie with no drivers.
