I'm a Vegeta fan historically, but when it really comes down to it outside of story arc + popularity...Piccolo truly is my favorite along with Frieza for villains.
I think his proportions are more supposed to match the Saiyan Saga. It looks kinda right if I imagine him taking the hit for Gohan etc. For the rest of the series and Super I'll just continue to use the Figure-rise version I guess
My fav has always been Piccolo as well. His appearance had me in awe from the beginning. Always liked his very strategic and rational mind, and the tough but kind love he showed Gohan when the then little dude needed it the most.
Piccolo is probably my favorite character. Also, pick up the piccolo figure rise kit. I think it looks better (considering there's no shading due to it being a model kit), but it comes with a special beam cannon effect and a stand for it.
Personally I think Future Gohan is overrated. He barely did anything. He was an idiot and fought the Androids when he knew he couldn’t win, and lost an arm. Then he tried to fight them again alone with only one arm, and died. And that is the only thing he ever did. Gotta give credit where it’s due though, Future Gohan does have an awesome character design.
@@21s_figs You're kinda missing the point bro. Future Gohan fought until the end even though he knew he couldn't win. Keep in mind the Androids took almost everything from him, he's gonna fight until he can't anymore. Even in the last battle against the Androids Gohan knew he would probably die, he said something along the lines of "If I die here someone stronger will come after me and take my place". If you think about it he kinda made a sacrifice. He had seen Trunks' potential and had put all his faith into him. Maybe the reason Gohan got himself killed was to open up the gate for Trunks to unlock his Super Saiyan. That will probably always remain a mystery but if you're a fan of Future Trunks there's no reason why you shouldn't like Gohan. Almost everything Trunks knows is taken from Gohan and Vegeta
his background is just gohan's up until the point where his goku dies though, then there isn't much from there with everyone else dying and eventually him too. still cool though, by virtue of being gohan
Trunks for me was the one who always came off as the coolest. Android 17 is a close second I always liked his mystery and fighting style, DBS only gained him Extra points.
Piccolo has always been my favorite character in dbz I just love his look as for this figure I wanted more out of a piccolo 2.0 this one looks good enough but he could've used some better shading and a sbc effect part
Piccolo and Vegeta indeed. I like their story arcs. I think Piccolo needs an upgrade in terms of power so he can be more useful during battles, but yeah, he is great. I also like Gohan.
The other two heads work well enough for me, especially compared to the neutral one. One thing the model kit version did right was giving him big bowling ball shoulders, was hoping for something like Tien for the SHF release. Also one of the rare instances I would have liked to see a plastic collar/mantle piece with a cloth cape
I’m just happy to finally be able to add a Piccolo to the collection. The criticism is fair tho. These things keep going up in price and we keep getting less and less. From shading to accessories, it’s disappointing. They’re turning into Mafex
Vegeta was a good character in Z, as all the Dragon Ball characters were in Z. They actually grew as characters, but then Super comes around and makes every character stupid sadly, like their personalities:(
I always liked Raditz’s aesthetic as a character and felt he was under utilized in the story (but what side character stays relevant for long in Dragon Ball Z/Super) but piccolo is a solid second choice for my favorite character.
Nice informative video as usual, though I still decided to get the figure after watching the video, and I really love it, I won't deny the problems you mention here, but it's still a really nice figure, specially if you are a big Piccolo fan I think you won't regret to get it for sure.

My favorite character is broly specifically form dbs his new character is amazing love how he is multilayered and how brutal he is when he fights bin shimada is my favorite anime actor so for him to voice broly too that's a huge plus
I dunno, the yelling angry heads to me seem to match up a lot with the original dragon ball art style, at least the one that's looking to the side does. Favorite Dragon Ball character is between Gohan, bardock, new Broly, Cheelai, Launch and original Dragon Ball Yamcha
I happened to start watching DBZ on Toonami during the time Piccolo had just merged with Kami, and had become the strongest, then went to fight Cell. He’s been my fav since then…
I like Yamcha, even though after a certain point he and the likes of Tien, Piccolo, and Krillin, pretty much any of the non-Saiyan heroes become pretty much useless as the Saiyans get more and more powerful through Z and Super.
@@spikespiegel323 Yamcha was badass in Pilaf arc when he fought Goku and gave us the first technique, Wolf Fang Fist, also in the 21- 23rd WT the preliminaries he won and then the fights; vs Jackie Chun, vs Tien, vs Kami despite losing were great and seeing the spirit ball for the first time was immense, when Yamcha fought the invisible man was also pretty good. Then in Z him vs the Ginyu Force was decent filler For Tien the whole of the 22nd WT he was a badass villain redeeming himself along the way fighting Yamcha, Jackie Chun using the kamehameha to impress everyone and going toe to toe with Goku (one of the best DB fights), he also brought our first Ki KI Attack that could counter the kamehameha, the dodan ray, also the infamous Tri beam, solar flare and his 4 arm technique, afterwards in the DKP arc his commitment to fighting Drum and trying to use mafuba was a badass last stand. 23rd WT seeing how far above he was over Cyborg Tao beating him with one punch, the his rematch with Goku where he puts up a good fight and we see the multi-form technique. Then in Z him fighting Saibamen, last stand against Raditz, filler with Ginyu Force and the time he stood up to Super Buu and Cell with the Tri Beam were great moments. Piccolo had the 23rd WT(best fight in all of DB), fighting Raditz, last stand against Nappa, vs A17, need I say more? Krillin from training alongside Goku with Master Roshi and learning the Kamehameha, to 21st WT preliminaries, his stand against Jackie Chun in semifinals was also impressive, his stand against General Blue, the Vampire and Chaioztu were decent, then in 22nd WT his fight with Goku where he's constantly on the upper hand until the end. Then in 23rd WT his fight with Piccolo Jr and showing the flying technique were great showings for his last stand against Piccolo Jr. Then in Z, you have the whole Saiyan saga he was a badass against the Saibamen, Nappa and Vegeta. Then on Namek he was pretty much the 3rd protagonist fighting everyone from Recoome up to 2nd form Frieza. He's also just a great fun character who works well as being Goku's best friend. As you can see these characters were "badass"
@@kingdomcomesuperman3669 didn't they all die in z during the sayian saga? Can't remember. Guess they weren't that bad ass. But hey who am I to tell you your favorite characters are trash.

I got my Piccolo the other day as a late gift for myself and was messing around with his heads without the turban thinking the antennae were softer plastic but noticed they weren’t glued in properly. Like at all. So I had to slide all of them back out and glue them in better. That should help.
My favorite Dbz Character is either Bardock from Z or Broly from Super. And now that Bardock finally came out as a SH Figuarts I’m really excited to hold him in my hands😊
I really, and I mean REALLY hope SHF takes another shot at DBZ Piccolo. They can still do the "Nameless Namekian" variant of him from the Cell Saga, after he fused with Kami. That Piccolo looked hella jacked when he fought 17, so that could be their chance to make a more appropriately sized figure of him. Use that opportunity to fix up some of his articulation as well.

Oh. well, I also knew what comments Anthony made when I saw the amount of dislikes. Yes, his face is weird looking. However, I think his shoulders looks even smaller cape on. My favorite is future trunks, cause he is the only protagonist in DBZ that doesn't fool around waiting for the enemy to pull some shit. And wow I was looking forward a lot for this piccolo, well still am but dam I honestly wouldn't have noticed on my own all the problems you pointed put
I mean, of course its a massively huge improvement over the original one... but it's still not great... he should be at least half a head taller, and definitively much bulkier in the arms (if we go by mid-to-late Z design). Tamashii just doesn't get the scaling right with any of their figures; Vegeta is too tall, Piccolo is too short, Trunks Z was too short (shorter than effin Vegeta), Krillin is too tall... I guess we're just gonna have to accept the line as it is, because they definitively do NOT listen to customer feedback in terms of QC and design, other than "make this, that... profit on this, profit on that". Dragon Ball is a franchise that I like so much, that I don’t really have a favorite character because I love all of the main ones so much. I tend towards Vegeta, Gohan or Piccolo but one cool moment could change any of that
My favorite character is Broly from both DBZ and DB Super movies. Piccolo 2.0 body proportions remind me of the super sized titan from AoT with the big broad chest and skinny arms. Seeing how they wanted Piccolo to wear Prince's shiny purple pajamas, they should've given his Gucci shoes a little more detail. It's not as well done as Captain Ginyu or Super Broly but it will do. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.
Piccolo's proportions are pretty inconsistent. Sometimes he's huge and jacked as hell, and other times he's just a bit taller than Goku with the same sized arms, especially in Super. It's really strange how they can't keep Piccolo's design consistent, even for Dragon Ball standards.
Favorite character is Janemba!!! This Piccolo looks pretty weird sadly. I still might pick it up anyway, as I need another Piccolo but gonna wait for a really good deal on him. He's disappointing..
I get why people think that the Chi-Chi figure is weird but I’d still like to see your review of it, Anthony, since it is a completely new figure (no reused parts as far as I can tell). I think you’re often a voice of reasonable criticism in the collecting community and you could make that unfortunate weirdness part of the discussion. I’m not sure if I think it’s worth having as a figure but it looks good when paired with Kid Goku in the pictures I have seen so far. Hoping we can get your take on it. My favorite DB character is Mr. Satan. I tend to like the sillier ones, haha.
Whis is my favorite, he is elegant but also obsessed with food. Yeah this release definitely isn't perfect. I think he should be taller, in Super he is a little taller that Whis.
Favorite character is probably Bardock. I also love Android 17 in DBS. Beerus was awesome when he was introduced but then he just became a meh side character. If we count fusions, I also really like Vegito.
vegeta iss my favorite, such Character development and just over all a badass even tho the writers don't ever want to give him a dub. Teen Gohan and cell saga trunks are close seconds kinda sucks they made Gohan a nerd trunks into a weakling that no longer has his edgyness
I was always a fan of Piccolo and Krillin I dunno why I just really enjoyed watching them on screen more often than goku and vegeta, I haven't watched Super I sort of stopped after GT which honestly I really enjoyed that series
Honestly Dragon Ball is the funniest and best Dragon Ball series that it made all the characters feel important to the story so for me its Yamcha and Piccolo
Maybe one day we’ll get a 3.0 piccolo, just kidding. But yeah I totally agree. I do not like the red lips on him. It looks like he’s wearing lipstick and I don’t know why his lips are red because I never seen him like that in the show. His arms are just too slim and his shoulders should be bigger. The thing that’s upsets me the most is he never came with a special beam cannon affect which I was really hoping he would have. But he looks really good with his cape on. Plus it can hide piccolo’s red lips if you push his head down enough.
I like Vegeta over Goku since I really like the dynamic between them, Vegeta despite not being born more powerful than Goku, still tries to outdo him in every way he can.
@@user-nx9qh1po1n But as the series went on that changed as far as practical purposes go. Vegeta seemed to be lagging behind and as Goku kept discovering new and more powerful forms whereas Vegeta worked his ass off to achieve them.
@@Yats6417 The reason why was because Goku took advantage of his resources, such as: Training partners, Gravity Room, the Other world, etc. Vegeta always wanted to train alone, which meant he wasn't going to see the same results as Goku.

I’m not sure if I think it’s worth having as a figure but it looks good when paired with Kid Goku in the pictures I have seen so far. Hoping we can get your take on it.
My favorite DB character is Mr. Satan. I tend to like the sillier ones, haha.
Vegeta, Piccolo, Broly from super, or Beerus, because they all have interesting personalities and unique fighting styles
Whis is my favorite, he is elegant but also obsessed with food. Yeah this release definitely isn't perfect. I think he should be taller, in Super he is a little taller that Whis.
10/10 for me! Love it!
My favorite dragon ball character is vegeta
Favorite character is probably Bardock. I also love Android 17 in DBS. Beerus was awesome when he was introduced but then he just became a meh side character. If we count fusions, I also really like Vegito.
They did piccolo dirty man
vegeta iss my favorite, such Character development and just over all a badass even tho the writers don't ever want to give him a dub. Teen Gohan and cell saga trunks are close seconds kinda sucks they made Gohan a nerd trunks into a weakling that no longer has his edgyness
One armed future Gohan is my favorite. Hate how anytime they make statues of him he has both.
Thank you for this now I’ll get the 1.0
My fav is android 17 he’s so dope tbh
I like the proportions, reminds me of early dragon ball
Piccolo never looked this fat or ugly
@@timdoe8895 lol just roasted the shit out of this figure.
My favourite character besides goku is gogeta! Fusion of goku and vegeta using the fusion dance with that juicy Ssgss form!
Bardock, Vegito & Gogeta are the bosses of Dragon Ball
Krillin is absolutely my favorite Dragon Ball character
if you asked someone who had no idea about Tamashii or SHF how much this figure cost, they would probably say "$20 or $30?"
Doubtful. It’s still a lot better than your average Marvel Legends figure, and way better than the $20 Dragon Stars line.
Vegeta is for sure my favourite character
Quick note: that's not an Instant Transmission hand, it's his Special Beam Cannon hand
... Yeah
I like Vegeta over Goku since I really like the dynamic between them, Vegeta despite not being born more powerful than Goku, still tries to outdo him in every way he can.
He literally had a power level close to 900 while Goku only had a power level of 2. Vegeta was born far more powerful.
@@user-nx9qh1po1n Let's just agree to disagree ✌🏻
My go to is Broly but character journey and development is Vegeta his come a long way since the sayian arc
My favorite character is Broly. The new version as well
Mine is Gohan because I like his character and how he had a lot of potential and he trained with Mr.Piccolo. Also Nice review!👍
My favourite character, is probably Piccolo or first form Frieza.
Piccolo has been drawn this way but i think we all wanted i little more meat on the arms like when he fought 17
The headsculpts of the original are better does it fit with the new body?
Used to be definitively Broly, but these days it kinda trails between Broly, Vegito, and Vegeta. I kinda have Cooler trailing behind as well since I’m a Cooler fan too.
