- This guide deals with easy to play and easy to get one-bar builds for low and middle-tier pvp. In it, I give advice for running these setups on every class and at the end I discuss the general state of one-bar builds in pvp.
Next to that, I also wanted to experiment and practice making a more "accessible" guide, both in sense of subject and editing style. Enjoy!

Great video! I used the Oakensoul ring in PVP and it was really good for support builds but I didn't get any good results for damage focus builds.

Awesome job. I also am a fan of the 1 bar build in pvp. I got some videos of some crazy damage nightblade content. This is a great explaination of how to play on all classes so well done!
Alos i am thinking of doing a templar 1 bar soon using hist set and something else damage based possibly. Not sure what im going to choose yet though

Great video mate. Been struggling in any pvp lately. Lag in Australia is absolutely atrocious. Bar swaps not swapping, abilities not triggering, we all know what else. This build actually made me feel happy to play cyrodiil again. Didn’t even have the bow line maxed out but it felt good. Used Shooting Star as my ult on a NB. Got kills, supported team fights, much easier to disengage from losing fights too. It gave that same feeling of the first time I properly played in Cyrodiil. Just had a blast. Leveling an Arcanist and Warden so I can get back into 2 bar for pvp. Need to test both to see which is the better lagger build 😂
Thank you SO MUCH for this content. I greatly appreciate your willingness to showcase Oakensoul builds for those of us who enjoy PvP on a slightly more casual level than the sweat lords, haha. I genuinely appreciate 1-bar setups that have been designed by highly skilled players because you all know what adjustments need to be made or areas to compensate for when coming from 2-bar setups. I wish more PvPers would embrace the one-bar options (i.e., not make fun of them) because I believe it encourages more people to play PvP (and that is something that ESO really needs right now... REALLY NEEDS). Cheers!

And you're right in saying that pvp needs more encouragement, and while it's the devs only that can make this happen in the end, content creators can be a small part of generating interest in pvp as well. Also I occasionally get comments asking for one-bar options in my other videos.

More players in PvP is always good because cyrodiil always plays better in populated campaigns but I don’t believe 1-bar builds should ever outperform or be equal to traditional 2-bar setups. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

You mentioned in the video that if you were swapping for crushing shock to use a fire staff and night mother’s gaze. What enchant/trait should I run on the fire staff? Also, what enchants/traits on night mothers? The same as you have on gourmand’s?

I've been running; on my magsorc. spinners and scathing mage atm(untill I find a replacement) all light and divines with precise and oakensoul, all jewel infused with spelldam(oak is bloodthirsty atm). Skills in order. Haunting curse(if need extra burst or tanky target) streak(for stun/escape) dark conversion (for resource sustain) then mages wrath or whatever morph you want(load up with a heavy attk then cast mages) crushing shock as a spam(also interrupt) then finally build up ulti for power overload to replace light attk weave for biig burst dam!
Vids on my channel example. It's a bit squishy but I place from distance and streak away if it gets hairy
Could you tell me exactly what you think would be the Optimal Oakensoul Sniper Build? Would it be Orders Wrath and Gourmands or Ordera Wrath and Night Mothers Gaze for Major and Minor Breach? Then All Well Fitted medium or 511. Khajit with Shadow Mundus n Bear Haunch? Stam weapon dmg pots?
Is mechanical acuity a good alternative for crit%?
what feature and enchantment to put if you take axes from DK?
So for warden, are you spamming crushing shock over and over and filling in with light attacks?

Question about the nightblade skill healthy offering. Oakensoul gives Minor Mending so should we use the other morph instead?

@@MalcolM.Did you pair night mother's with gourmand when running this on your night blade? I didn't hear you specifically mention it but I could be wrong. I'm assuming you run night mother's with gourmand for the major breach since there's no other way of getting it. It also pairs well with focused aim I guess.

what would you say about a truesworn-titanborn low hp one bar combo as a nightblade snipe? Is the dmg ok if i manage to survive through dodges and healing in the right moment?
Yeah these sets are good for ganking, I have a double bar build here ua-cam.com/video/_RmXcZj4xaE/v-deo.html for melee ganking. This can be altered to a one bar build and still one shot most targets. As for then altering to a snipe build, it's a little more difficult because snipe builds can only one or two shot very squishy players. So you have to attack them and expose yourself for longer, which is not ideal at 50% health. Maybe it works but it's risky and I don't think you can stay in the fight long at all.

Nice builds, glad someone is trying to encourage more people to play PVP. And not just insulting people who don't/can't use 2 bar builds effectively. I've got bad arthritis and a typical high APM build which is WAY OP, is not an option in PVP. I have some tanky builds with oakensoul that work pretty good when I am with a team but hopefully I can make use of some of your builds to do better in 1v1. I also like how you break down how to build for all classes and little tweaks. I tested crushing weapon because I like the breech on there but couldn't get the hang of it. Do you still LA weave with that?
Yes light attack weaving is necessary with that, as the skill only deals damage if the light attack is casted. If this doesn't work out, a fire or ice staff (depending on whether you want to focus more on DMG or defense) with crushing shock are a good replacement.
@@MalcolM. yeah I can't LA weave between every skill but I think I can pull it off with a bow and a spammable just fine. With the hybrid stuff I guess it really doesn't matter what I use but was thinking of using the bow/crushing for stam races, and ice/fire/FP for mag toons and see how that works. I like the defense of ice and the roll into expedition with bow.
OK I have been testing these builds a lot on all classes, over 100 BG matches and the DK one is working but I am not good enough at RANGED AIMING LA to get full use out of the other builds. If I can make a suggestion, maybe not call these builds 'beginner' friendly because they are contingent on really good ranged aiming LAs. But I think with a simple change, to night mothers gaze (or kynemarch) and arrow spray, they do become beginner friendly.
This is coming from someone who has played the game for 8 years and PVP for 3+ years, and STILL can't AIM that great, especially when being focused on by a super fast melee opponent, forget about it, I can't land very many LAs at all.
TLDR: if someone is really good at Ranged LA aiming, these builds offer easier alternative to 2 bar builds, for beginners use NMG and Arrow Spray.
would you use that new 5 piece pen set that gives 7k pen now on a oaken build? Also of all these setups n classes what would you say is the best or strongest one bar setup for Necrom? Like what would you say is the closest to S Tier Oaken setup for pvp a Corrosive dk in a pen set or Snipe Nb?
It's a good set to consider but is outweighed by night mother's gaze. If you already have major breach I would stick to a spell damage or crit set as that will give you more healing as well, unlike pen sets. The snipe nb is definitely the easiest to play for me, and is still effective for low to mid pvp. Don't run corrosive and pen sets together, because while in corrosive you don't benefit from the set.

Are there any alternatives for oakensoul?
If you don't have oakensoul I recommend just going with a double bar build, not having that mythic is a significant drawback and cannot really be replaced in most cases. I can talk about options to cope without oakensoul but it's simply not going to be worth it.

How u pls use atvantage of oakensoul ring in those builds sicne Oakensoul is mainly used for heavy attacks builds? U usin mostly magica skills but having points in stamina, why is that?

What can i substitute elemental weapon with? how do i run melee instead of ranged?
As for running melee instead of ranged, you can switch out the ranged weapon to dual wield axes of the same set and optionally you can also change the set to robes of the hist or mara's balm since (generally) you need more survivability in melee. Elemental weapon can be substituted by crushing shock (and then you also swap the bow if you have it to inferno or frost staff depending if you want more survivability or more damage).

@@slaipil Typically you'd run whatever your class spammable is. Or you could use morphs of Twin Slashes or Flurry from dual wield.

Quite the opposite, it's an important stat, hence why I always make sure to have the major breach debuff

LOL are you serious??? Arcanist is already the simplest, noobiest class in the game 😅 It's faceroll, use 3 abilities and get top dps, you don't need Oakensoul to make it easier. 😂😂😂

I definitely don't agree with some of the ability choices here. you seem experienced and use the right sets, but I can definitely tell you haven't mained some of the classes here leading to some very questionable choices. The sets seems good tho.

@@MalcolM. Alright, here is my thoughts (keep in mind I am trying to convey advice it in a friendly manner 😊).
First off, the crushing weapon situation: you sometimes use it where it's not usually needed, but you definitely kinda need it on nightblade, which does not have easy access to major breach and is inherently a solo gank class. It makes more sense to use this as the main spammable because it's easy to use from stealth with the high damage of your combined light attack and build up the bow combo fast. Also, I don't think it's necessary to have a second heal outside of vigor, because you are missing out on too much damage. In tricky situations, rely on precognition because there is no other ult good enough for ranged gank where the damage is reliable (things can easily be dodged or blocked by obstacles). There MUST be a stun or immobilization no matter what to lock down the target; I usually prefer crippling grasp or magnum shot, fire rune, or even terror trap for this. Also, Vampire Stage 3 is not needed on a Nightblade ranged gank whatsoever because you're never going to be brawling; you are just missing out on recovery most of the time (which also means you need less healing because more health recovery while waiting in stealth). It's definitely good to rely on the bow burst damage combo, though. If you are good, you typically don't need an ult for damage; what you need is very good positioning control using stealth. At least in my opinion there is no beginner nightblade builds that work well, they all require a higher amount of practice.
Then there is the Dragonknight, which I also play a lot. I think the build in this video is slightly flawed because there is no gap closer, but I believe if you are going to use the corrosive melee version, you don't actually need major breach. You can easily slot Chains of Devastation to fix the range gap and then combo it with shattering rocks/burning embers for healing. You can even remove coagulating blood because you already have enough healing but lack damage (also, crit healing over time is insane on corrosive, especially with multiple effects combined).
Necromancer, which is my second main, and it's not the worst at all, but the build looks about right. You just need to use the ghost, which automatically burst heals you or your team, whoever has the lowest HP, imo one of the best skills in the game and is overlooked here. Best to always only have one spammable of healing or damage because you have such low bar space and you need over time abilities to make use of the crit the most effeciently. The necromancer build is not meant for soloing but rather always to play with the team like usual, but it's very reliable in this regard. Throw in a reviving barrier and echoing vigor, or a transformation, and you have unparalleled survivability. I actually like this build the most out of all oakensoul builds. It's just so god damn easy to play.
Most of these changes are meant to get more out of the few abilities you have, considering you only have half as much to choose from. You never really want to take a general approach with Oakensoul builds, but rather, you need to use whatever your class offers that has the highest utility so you don't end up with all seven classes looking similar. I think overall most of the advice you provide makes sense here tho. It's just that when you have only half the amount of abilities to choose from it comes down to what most people say, its not good in pvp but the reason for that is simply a balance between damage and healing problem, usually can't be the best with both slotted, so you choose skills that do both damge and healing or provide something for your team too. With the lack of room for proc sets we tend to go for things that also work over time effects.
@@deswill2737 thanks for the extensive feedback! I definitely agree with some of your points, like some cc option and major breach on NB and the optional chains on dk. But I think many of these ideas would make it worse too, such as dropping vampire or dropping coag. Vamp still gives damage and is still good even if you sit in the back, the sustain loss is not an issue. Coag is needed on dk, the DMG is fine and it would be a huge loss in survivability, it's that simple. What I think is actually interesting here is the point about making the classes more unique. The thing is just that all the classes are becoming increasingly homogenous, which is what made a video like this possible to begin with. Tbh I don't like that at all, so it's a subject for a future video too!
@@MalcolM. With the vampire stage 3 it sorta depends if you are playing alone or in group, in battlegrounds its more needed than in other cases. But overall I am doing better without coag on DK, because you can get shields that give major mending and combine it with like 4-5 different effects, some of which deal damage and healing at the same time. As a long time user of oakensoul builds I just find that slotting 2 dedicated heals does not work well enough for damage. I also forget to mention that in the current patch bow seems to outperform daggers which means that you dont need chains for expedition but its still interesting for damage tho. Anyway I still get a feeling that oakensoul is not worth it on some classes, like with nightblade where it feels that there are too many tradeoffs in terms great skill you need to drop.
Overal the idea that the game is homogenous is debatable, it seems that in the highest tier of players they all know what is good, but one things is for certain that vigor is too strong, which is why its an auto include in each build making it seem that way, it just shouldn't be that good for a neutral skill.

oakensouls popularity reminds me of No Build in Fortnite. You got players that only play ESO because of one bar builds. Then you have players that despise oakensoul sayings it’s for casuals.
When I try to get my friends to play ESO they always quit because of the combat. It’s not the bar swapping, it’s the tedium of managing short duration buffs.
Well with oakensoul you don't need to worry much about buff uptimes
