The pile of clothing in the MV (and in the Spring Day mv as well) are based on a 2010 artwork called Personae, or people, but at the same time no one. It was created by a French artist Christian Boltanski. The clothes represent the people who are no longer with us with the clothes all that is left behind. In turn it is likely that Boltanski, who created artwork based on the Holocaust, is reminding us of the huge pile of clothing taken from the Jews who were sent to the showers to their deaths in the concentration camps. Btw, the mv is directed by Um Tae-hwa, who directed Concrete Utopia, considered the best film in Korea this year - and another great performance by Lee Byung-Hun. It is a disaster film about Seoul following an epic earthquake and the struggle of survivors to find livable residences.
