Honestly the lyrics of both these subcategories of Christian music are more spiritual and biblical than many modern worship lyrics are. Themes of staying true to Christ, refusal to compromise, being a strong family man and the holiness of God are all present in artists such as For Today.
I grew up in punk-rock, hard-core and oi genres of music. For me is hard to listen to mainstream and pop music. The Crucified is my favourite Christian punk-rock/crossover band.
