hey, Bryttnie, thanks for showing your side of China from an expatriate's perspective. Though due to language and cultural difference, there might be some minor misunderstandings(say, the "cars" you mentioned are normally some Individuals with low educational backgrounds and advanced age typically engage in the practice of collecting and recycling waste materials from various locations and then processing them to earn modest incomes. though their behavior does affect the others, I don't think they really meant to do that). BTW, "Jian" refers to "fries" in China, "bing" means pancake. Anyway, please do more of such videos so ppl from different regions get to know China better
Hey Nick thank you for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Yes about the cars I just include because it is part of daily life and you see often in Shanghai, a bit unique others might not know. Next time I will show them and explain more so they can know who drives them and the purpose of it! Also about jian bing then means "fried pancake?"
@@bryttnielee np, Bryttnie. your channel will w/o doubt help more ppl to get to know China. Yes, "jianbing" means "fried pancake" and getting to know more Chinese words will faciliate your understanding in this language
So true! In CA, a random one can be $150+. If you run a stop sign, around $250. A red light, $500. But I am all for this. Even though I have to put in extra effort to make a complete stop every time at a stop sign.
Their toilets are what I feared most. Even in the US, Chinese restaurants usually don't have clean bathrooms. It is their culture. The cost of keeping a clean bathroom is not a part of their business budget.
@@benthekeeshond545 not really a culture thing more of if there is money there. Some bathrooms in China are nice and clean squatter or not. When I was in California the public bathroom that was outside La Jolla cove smelt horrible and was also disgusting. Also in Germany a nice restaurant I had to pay 1 euro and toilets were broken and no paper. So it’s not a culture thing maybe more if there is money and the business / area wants to use that money to have a nice restroom or not. Most times dirty bathrooms are in not busy areas or doesn’t have funding.
@@rubadub79 it’s because of the pluming system and the pipes would get clogged. Most Asian countries don’t allow paper to be flushed. Also in some South American and Central American countries
They should have a bidet or hose instead of toilet paper, then have a sink in the stall so that you can wash your hands right after. I have an attachable bidet in my house, never used toilet paper in almost 3 years. Never going back to the old way.
Squat toilet is not a big deal. Don't keep replaying this matter. It's silly. Have you tried the public rest rooms in Europe ? Not exactly luxury either. Some are nasty.
I applaud you for leaving your comfort zone to live in China, I have lived here for 30 years and love the Mainland
Finally found an angel showing heaven ❤❤

In the USA 🇺🇸 people respect the traffic law because the tickets are very expensive.

Some or many Americans give you compliments which they don't mean it, that's why some people consider them fake.
We all do that. Chinese people are renowned for hiding their feelings.
nice mandarin!
Non-Americans think Americans are fake because some Americans prefer not to express negative opinions or non-positive statements.
美国人对中国恶意,显而易见的。没看出他们不表达不喜欢。😂

Does the toilet paper get recycled or something? Why not just flush it?
